I purchased this 2002 7.3L SuperDuty in 2012 with 65,000 miles. It has barely been driven since and has had a lot of upgrades(listed). It runs flawlessly and really performs well on and off road. This truck is fun to drive and is built to handle being used hard if desired. The current mileage is 82,734. The upgrades and features are as follows: 420HP, TS Performance chip and air intake, performance built transmission, 40" Toyo MT tires(80% tread condition) on 22" black Mazzi wheels, new Fox Racing 2.0 Reservoir shocks all the way around, 12" ProComp suspension lift, 4" high flow exhaust system with 6" black exhaust tip, new (2)stacked 50" LED light bars, new Iron Cross front bumper with LED fog lights & hooks & 12,000LB winch, new Body Armor rear bumper with shackles, Raptor lined bed, hi-lift jack mount, new aftermarket fender flares, custom fabricated black grill with chrome studs, New aftermarket LED headlights and LED taillights/3rd brake light, new (4) Kenwood speakers, new Kenwood stereo head unit, all leather interior, wired for trailer hauling, upgraded steering components for smooth handling.
This truck gets a lot of compliments and although it is big, it was built to with a tasteful appearance in mind. If you're reading this then you already know the 7.3L engine is the toughest, most reliable engine Ford produced and they will outlast and out run other Diesel engines by a long shot. If you're looking for a nice custom rig that will last, this is it.

Top torque-to-weight ratios under $100k, $50k and $25k
Tue, 07 Oct 2014Horsepower may steal a lot of headlines, but the always-more-complex torque figure is often a critical one for both the workingman and the motoring playboy. The measure of rotational force represents the twist that can liquefy one's tires or haul one's horse trailer. Good stuff.
It follows then, that as with the horsepower-to-weight list that we assembled for you a few months ago, a list of cars that offer the most pound-feet with the fewest pounds to carry, is an interesting one to break down. Sure, there's a big difference in how the torque is applied from a turbocharged six-cylinder in a Swedish luxury sedan and a massive heavy-duty truck's turbo-diesel. But being the car/stat geeks that we are, we think it's kinda neat that those two vehicles rank near each other where torque and weight intersect.
As with the horsepower list, we've given you figures as pounds per every one pound-foot. Again broken down into broad price categories, we've got a mixed bag of 2014 and 2015 models here, too. Every effort has been made to select the most up-to-date prices and specs, and we've also to omitted some '14 cars that won't be re-upped after the ongoing yearly changeover.
Are you a new Ford Mustang SVO? [w/video]
Fri, 16 May 2014When Ford announced that its 2015 Mustang would arrive with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, three letters came to mind: SVO. While Ford hasn't said a word regarding the rebirth of a Mustang SVO model, this latest set of spy shots shows us something very, very interesting. Allow us to explain.
The Mustang prototype in these photos looks very similar to the GT500 test cars we've spotted before - same bulging hood, aggressive front fascia and air vents aft of the front wheels. What's different, however, is around back. Have a look at the exhaust, and note that instead of the GT500's usual quad pipes, two of the exhaust outlets have been capped off.
Our spies point out that these exhaust outlets could be closed for some sort of emissions testing or another engineering reason, but it's also important to note that the engine and exhaust notes of this car sound completely different from earlier GT500 prototypes. We've got a video below that compares the two.
Detroit automakers mulling helping DIA avoid bankruptcy looting
Tue, 13 May 2014It's not really a secret that the city of Detroit is in lots and lots of trouble. Even with an emergency manager working to guide it through bankruptcy, a number of the city's institutions remain in very serious danger. One of the most notable is the Detroit Institute of Arts, a 658,000-square-foot behemoth of art that counts works from Van Gogh, Picasso, Gauguin and Rembrandt (not to mention a version of Rodin's iconic "The Thinker," shown above) as part of its permanent collection.
Throughout the bankruptcy, the DIA has been under threat, with art enthusiasts, historians and fans of the museum concerned that its expansive collection - valued between $454 and $867 million by Christie's - could be sold by the city to help square its $18.5-billion debt.
Now, though, Detroit's hometown automakers could be set to step up and help save the renowned museum. According to a report from The Detroit News, the charitable arms of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler could be set to donate $25 million as part of a DIA-initiated campaign, called the "grand bargain." As part of the deal, the DIA would seek $100 million in corporate donations as part of a larger attempt at putting together an $816-million package that would be paid to city pension funds over 20 years. Such a move would protect the city's art collection from being sold off.
