1997 Ford F-350 Crew Cab 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel 4WD Long Bed

Always adult-owned and driven, never abused.  It was a one-owner before me, was purchased brand new in Tennessee and spent most of its life there, or in Arkansas.  The man I bought it from said he spent a little time in Colorado, then back to Arkansas which is where I found it.  He kept it in a garage almost every night as well.  I have washed and waxed it regularly and so did the first owner as the paint shows.  It has had seat covers on the front seats since 1997.  You can see all of the interior is in wonderful condition as seen in the pics.  I absolutely love this truck, but my farming direction has changed and I won't have a need for it anymore.  Now that you know a little about the truck and why I am selling it, here are some details:

Everything works: Starts, runs, drives great!

191,XXX miles

Truck has several Banks brand performance/towing upgrades to include:

Exhaust Brake
Transmission Commander
Transmission Brake
Cold Air Intake

TS Performance 6-Position Tuner with Stock, High Idle, 50, 70 and 100 HP as well as a Valet setting.

Double Banks Gauges to monitor Boost and EGT's

All of these up-grades were set up for pulling a camper or a goose neck cattle trailer.  Truck is in excellent condition for its age.  It does have a minor ding or scuff here or there (most noticeable ones are on tail gate, can see in pic)

Has 5th wheel rails in the bed/does not have actual 5th wheel hitch (first owner had a camper), just add your hitch and you are ready to go.

It does have a removable Curt brand goose-neck ball hitch with a 2- 5/16" ball for pulling a cattle trailer, flat trailer etc... that fits into the 5th wheel rails simply by inserting 4 pins just like for a 5th wheel hitch.

Tow package with heavy-duty 2" receiver on rear frame with 7-blade RV type plug.

Tool box, plastic bed-liner, rubber bed mat, and heavy duty rubber floor mats (front and rear) are all included.

Has a Engine heater plug if you need it.  Starts fine whether you plug it in or not, at least for as cold as it gets here (20's)??

Recent Oil, Oil Filter and Fuel Filter Change.

First owner did tell me that the transmission had been rebuilt at around 150,000 miles.  It is very strong and pulls great, no slipping, whining or clanging.  Lots of torque!  He said he had it built to pull whatever the truck could handle.  No issues at all.

NO RUST!  All body panels, bed sides etc.. are solid.

You would be hard pressed to find another one just like this one in as good of condition.

Miles will change slightly daily until winning bid and deposit is posted to PayPal account, then truck will be parked until paid for in full and picked up.

Please only bid if you are a serious buyer and have the money and/or financing secured.

**Look on Autotrader if you want some trucks, (most of them not even close to as nice as this one to compare to), then bid away!  I believe it will make someone a great truck for many more years to come.  Just know that you will have a whole lot of people wanting to buy it as soon as you get it, these old body style 7.3's just don't exist much anymore (of course you already know that if you are looking at this one.)

A non-refundable deposit of 500.00 to my PayPal account must be made within 48 hours of auction end.

Remaining balance must be paid with cash or certified funds, and truck must be picked up within 7 days from auction end.

Local pick-up or shipping and all costs associated with either are the responsibility of the buyer.

Truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime for any reason.

There are NO WARRANTIES or GUARANTEES expressed or implied, truck sells AS-IS only.

I will be glad to answer any questions about the truck.

Good luck and thanks to all those who bid!

White House clears way for NHTSA to mandate vehicle black boxes

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

At present, over 90 percent of all new vehicles sold in the United States today are equipped with event data recorders, more commonly known as black boxes. If the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gets its way, that already high figure will swell to a full 100 percent in short order.
Such automotive black boxes have been in existence since the 1990s, and all current Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Toyota vehicles are so equipped. NHTSA has been attempting to make these data recorders mandatory for automakers, and according to The Detroit News, the White House Office of Management Budget has just finished reviewing the proposal, clearing the way. Now NHTSA is expected to draft new legislation to make the boxes a requirement.
One problem with current black boxes is that there's no set of standards for automakers to follow when creating what bits of data are recorded, and for how long or in what format it is stored. In other words, one automaker's box is probably not compatible with its competitors.

Tanner Foust tackles 'Ring in SVT Raptor

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

Here's a math problem: if Tanner Foust has a 24 hours to kill in Germany and one blue Ford Raptor, how long will it take him to decide he wants to lap The Nürburgring? Extra credit if you can get your answer precise to the millisecond.
A very truck-like and slidey lap of the 'Ring is exactly what happened when the Ford-sponsored rallycross driver took time off from set-up duties for his 'day job.' Thankfully no one even thought to worry about posting a time, but you can watch some Raptor skid marks getting laid down between the kerbs in the video below.

How new car shortages may impact your buying experience

Wed, 04 Sep 2013

If you want further proof that the auto industry is bouncing back, look no further than the empty lots and forecourts of your local dealership. According to a story by The Wall Street Journal, continued high demand for mainstream cars is overtaxing automakers' ability to produce enough models. Several dealers interviewed for the story are reporting two-week supplies as opposed to the typical two-month allocations.
With sales expected to hit 1.4 million units when August numbers arrive shortly and incentive spending down to its lowest amount since January, these limited supplies are pushing prices even higher. For example, according to the WSJ, the average price of a Ford Fusion is up past $26,000. Unfortunately, it's difficult for manufacturers to increase production quickly. If it invests in its facilities, as many manufacturers have done, it risks wasting cash if growth suddenly slows. At the same time, the momentum gained over the past several years could be short lived if vehicle supplies continue to dwindle. "Manufacturers are in a precarious situation," notes Karl Brauer, a senior director at Kelley Blue Book.
Low interest rates and a wealth of desirable features are also allowing customers to purchase more expensive vehicles while justifying their higher overall price tags, a situation that is compounding supply shortages. Even now, during the annual end-of-summer clearance season, deals on new vehicles are remarkably difficult to come by. According to the report, the Toyota Corolla is in a self-inflicted state of shortage, as Toyota clears out inventory in anticipation of the new 2014 generation arriving in dealers. Ford's supplies should rebound as Fusion production comes on line at its Flat Rock, Michigan factory. The Chevrolet Impala, Honda Odyssey, Civic, and Accord and Subaru Forester are also facing shortages.
