1997 Ford F-350 Crew cab diesel 5 speed 4x4

This F-350 is in excellent condition, it is an absolutely beautiful truck, the interior and exterior are in above average condition, this truck has been meticulously maintained its entire life, it is sitting on an almost new set of 315x75x16  BFG all terrains, it has had a complete brake job and new shocks  within the last 5000 miles, it also has a very hard to find 5 speed manual transmission. This F-350 is mostly original with only a few added desirable modifications, it has a full 5 inch exhaust with a T and S six position chip, it will consistently avg 16-17 mpg and runs very strong, it has had a 2 in block installed on the front only so it sits level, it also has a spray in bed liner with a goose neck ball in the bed.

Interior- this truck has had seat covers on its entire life so the seat fabric looks excellent, it has a full set of husky liner floor mats, it also has a rifle-it shelf installed where the visors attach, and a big sky 2 gun rack bolted to the roof, that could be easily removed if the new buyer doesn't like it. I removed the factory radio and installed an alpine with blue tooth, this really makes driving this hoss a pleasure, the Bluetooth feature works great.

This truck has 243,000 miles but obviously you know that's nothing for the bullet proof 7.3 diesel, I feel that with proper maintenance you could drive one of these trucks for as long as you wanted with little to no problems, they just don't make them like this anymore, I have had the injectors recently checked and they are all fine. The a/c blows ice cold and the heater and defrost work perfectly, The mileage will change as I do still drive this truck, I really hate to sell it because it will be very  hard to find another in this condition especially with the bullet proof 5 speed transmission, you will not be disappointed, please bid to win, this truck will not last long as they are too hard to find in this condition, feel free to call with questions but only if you are a serious buyer. 901-870-7216

The big dune jump and the damage done

Mon, 20 May 2013

The Silver Lake sand dunes see their fair share of well-built trophy trucks executing impressive jumps. Drivers build insane pieces of machinery for the express purpose of sailing through the air like mad men and women.
Mike Higgins is no stranger to the area. His heavily modified Ford trophy truck has gone flying through the sky on more than one occasion, but he recently bit off more than he could chew. After hitting a particularly lofty dune, Higgins went airborne for a ridiculous 180 feet before becoming intimately familiar with the finer points of gravity.
While Higgins nailed the jump, his landing fell short of wowing the judges. The impact very nearly broke his truck in two. Despite the mechanical mayhem, the driver walked away without a scratch, proving that occasionally miracles really do happen. You can check out the jump and the subsequent destruction below for yourself. Be warned: there's a fair bit of foul language.

Ford not backing down on MPG-based marketing strategy

Thu, Jun 26 2014

The Blue Oval may have to back off a bit from the green messaging. Ford has had to lower fuel-economy ratings on a number of 2013 and 2014 model-year vehicles, namely its hybrids. And that may force the US automaker to rethink some of its marketing strategy, Automotive News reports. Ford has spent much of the year pushing its fuel-efficiency improvements, with everything from a Super Bowl ad saying its Fusion Hybrid gets "almost double" the fuel efficiency of an average vehicle (after the recalculation, it's now more like 75 percent better) to claiming the Fiesta is the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid in the US (it's actually the Mitsubishi Mirage) to stating the C-Max Hybrid gets better fuel economy than the Toyota Prius V (it doesn't). Nonetheless, Ford doesn't plan on changing its mpg marketing emphasis anytime soon, the company said in an e-mailed statement to AutoblogGreen. "Providing customers great fuel economy is a key part of our Ford vehicle DNA." "Providing customers great fuel economy is a key part of our Ford vehicle DNA," the company said. "We will continue to highlight our vehicles features and attributes in our advertising and marketing, which includes fuel economy and fuel-saving technologies like EcoBoost and hybrids." Earlier this month, Ford said it would lower the fuel-economy ratings of models such as the C-Max, Fusion and Lincoln MKZ Hybrids as well as most of the Fiesta line because of mistakes in the company's internal testing data. It was the second change for the C-Max Hybrid. The good news for Ford is that its fleetwide fuel economy is up almost 40 percent from a decade ago, compared to an improvement of around 23 percent for Toyota. Still, while sales of Ford hybrids and plug-ins are about even with last year through the first five months of 2014, C-Max Hybrid sales have plunged 49 percent from a year earlier. Earlier this year, Ford admitted that the first fuel economy downgrade had a negative effect on sales and we can find proof in the numbers. Before that the change was announced, in August 2013, Ford was consistently selling over 2,000 – and sometimes over 3,000 – C-Max Hybrids a month. In September, it dropped to 1,424, then to 1,438 in October. It didn't climb back above 2,000 until May 2014. The second mpg adjustment was announced in June.

Ford gets colorful with Mustang anniversary infographic

Thu, 24 Oct 2013

Preparing to celebrate its 50th birthday, the Ford Mustang has seen a lot of vehicle trends come and go, and this especially goes for paint colors. Using historical production data, Ford has managed to create an infographic dating back to 1967 that breaks down the three top Mustang colors for each year as well as calling out some of the more interesting trends and colors over the years.
Over its five generations, the Mustang has been offered in a seemingly endless rainbow - from Playboy Pink in '67 and color-changing Mystichrome on the 2004 Cobra - but the most popular has always been red, which is the color of choice for 21 percent of all Mustangs ever made. Almost every year since 1967, red has been among the top three colors for the Mustang, but other popular colors have included blue, white, brown and, most recently, black. There are even websites and registries available for people owning certain-color Mustangs.
As the all-new 2015 Mustang gets ready for its debut later this year, there's no telling what kind of exciting and/or wacky colors Ford has in store. Click on the image above to see the full infographic (choose the "large" option for optimal viewing), or check it out in a smaller size along with the press release posted below.
