See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"95 Ford powerstroke diesel with only 140K miles on the engine/transmission. Vehicle has cosmetic wear, and has some mechanical problems that need fixed. This engine/transmission are rock solid, and would be great if you're rebuilding an older Ford and need a solid engine/tranny combo that can be dropped in without a costly rebuild. The engine/transmission in this truck were inspected and are in good shape. Truck can be driven away if owner installs a new front fuel tank and fuel tank solenoid. Will eventually need to switch the truck over to hydraulic breaks, and the clutch will eventually need replacing. Tires are roughly 50%. No key, has button in dash that starts truck. Exterior locks will also need re-keyed. Front windshield is cracked. Comes with tool/wood rack. Vehicle was recently serviced by a mechanic who flushed all the fluids in the truck, and replaced all the filters. Also re-charged the AC. Accident listed on carfax was a fender-bender. No structural damage."

Great Powerstroke engine and transmission with only 143,000 miles on them, these powertrains are hard to come by in this condition and with such low miles! Not even broken in yet! The engine and transmission have been recently checked by a mechanic who declared them in good working condition. This powertrain would be ideal for someone who plans on rebuilding an older Ford and needs a rock solid engine and transmission that they can just drop in and go without having to rebuild them.

The truck's condition is a little rough. It can be driven away, however I would recommend replacing the front fuel tank and fuel tank solenoid immediately before driving this vehicle any great distance. A mechanic recently flushed all the fluids in the vehicle, and re-charged the AC. Below is a list of issues with the vehicle that would eventually need to be fixed if the buyer wanted to return this truck to good running condition:

-Front tank replaced
-Solenoid replaced
-Front windshield replaced
-Brakes are good, but truck will need to be switched over to hydraulic brakes when brakes are next replaced
-Clutch works fine, but will eventually need to be replaced
-Tires currently 50%
-Truck needs re-keyed (inside and out)
-Accident listed on carfax was a fender-bender. No structural damage

Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.

2015 Ford Focus

Tue, 14 Oct 2014

Sitting down at the pre-drive briefing with Ford engineers ahead of sampling the refreshed 2015 Focus, water bottles clinked as we wet our whistles before Q&A. While pouring a glass, we noticed something stamped on the bottle label: "1L." One liter. We were palming the exact displacement of the EcoBoost engine our group was about to drive. This was undoubtedly coincidence (such bottles litter every conference and dinner table in Europe) but it served to drive home just how small the total swept volume of Ford's wunderkind powerplant really is. It's tiny.
Of course, this isn't our first run-in with the little triple - we've sampled its turbocharged charms before in Ford's smaller Fiesta. At that time, we found it had plenty of poke for the subcompact, but the larger C-segment Focus carries around another 450 pounds or so and pushes a wider profile through the air. Would the three-cylinder have the stuffing to make the most of the Focus' athletic chassis, or would it be a letdown? Would it be the same as it was when we tested it in a Euro-spec Focus a couple of years ago? There was nothing left for it but to head out on the bucolic roads surrounding Versailles the day after the Paris Motor Show and find out for ourselves.
