Hello diesel family and friends, my name is Tom my wife and I have been licensed PA new and used DieselTruck dealers since the late 70's and have been involved in diesel trucks as our speciality. We have recently downsized to a small mom and pop operation here in carlisle PA (E-Motors) to sell 2 or 3 trucks a month, we are small and I do this more for a hobby than anything else.(low overhead low prices) I know these old 7.3 diesel trucks inside and out and I personally drive one and love these trucks emmensley. A few things to know before bidding or becomming interested in one of my trucks, I do not play games with the price, I do my homework price for fast cash sales on the buy it now that is what I need if you do the research you will see, however serious cash buyers are encouraged to bring cash offers close to what I'm asking maybe we can deal a little bit. I also do airport pickup at Harrisburg International, return 1 way rentals, shipping, have on call hours 7 days a week and I am a bonded tag agent and issue temp tags/title transfer on the spot at my office, I also do long or short deliverys and have on call hours 7 days a week from 9-9 east time. 717 991 0568 I reserve the right to close down ebay for any cash buyer with deposit online on phone or on lot, I deal first come first served with deposit,I do not finance and I don't think these old trucks have much bank value so please have cash in bank or bank check in hand prior to bidding or making offers would be greatly appreciated so we are not just spinning wheels...take care Tom E motors 717 991 0568 Carlisle PA I moved my big 3 car trailer with 2 trucks on board with this beauty and boy does it tow great. Trust me fellas this is worth the ride up to check out its the real deal!!! Mechanically it is like brand new, its a local 1 owner family garaged kept dealer maintained owned by a 72 year old couple who did camping in the summer. I bought it from the Ford dealer locally who got it in on trade. The 7.3 fires right up, nice injector flow, good hot batteries, glow plugs and starter motor. No smoke, drips or blow by. Awesome power, good tight front end. I just last week replaced my self ball joints, brakes, rotors, calipers, front end alignment, filters fluids and 1 year PA state inspection, tires are ok, cold a/c with all options inside working great! Interior is perfect no rips tears or cracks, very clean with non smoking owners, seats covered since new! Body all factory original paint no rust or dents super glossey and clean frame. Some minimal wear and tear some stone nicks small scratches ect but really a nice clean truck is perfect driving cond, hook your trailer and go condition... I deal on a first come basis deposits hold if desired or just come and get it, priced to sell.....Tom 717 991 0568 E Motors Carlisle PA

The fascinating forgotten civil defense history of Mister Softee trucks
Mon, 26 Aug 2013Hemmings came across an interesting article from the Throwin' Wrenches blog about the intersection of ice cream, cars and civic duty in America's late 1950s. In particular, it focuses on the Mister Softee trucks, which criss-crossed neighborhoods of the eastern US serving ice cream. Looking past the ultra-durable vehicles used - heavy-duty Ford-based chassis, for what it's worth - the article delves into some deeper national-security territory.
See, Mister Softee truck owners were voluntary members of the Civil Defense, thanks to all the useful stuff (potable water, generators, freezers and fridges) that the machines carried with them for serving ice cream. Click over to Throwin' Wrenches for the full run down of how Mister Softee would have stepped in to help fight if the Cold War ever turned a little hotter.
These horribly misguided front-drive design studies nearly became the Mustang
Fri, 08 Nov 2013As we eagerly await the unveiling of the all-new sixth-generation Mustang, Ford has been giving us some great information over the past few months showing what has gone into shaping its venerable pony car. As many changes as the Mustang has gone through in its 50 years, though, it appears the fourth-gen model played a decisive and pivotal role in the car's future.
As is part of Mustang lore, the front-wheel drive Ford Probe was originally developed as a next-generation Mustang in the Eighties before cooler heads prevailed. The Blue Oval has just released a handful of images showing how bad things could have been - including a full-scale clay model of a front-wheel-drive Mustang (shown above). Fortunately, the FWD Mustang plan was scrapped and Ford went to work designing a rear-wheel-drive replacement for the Fox Body Mustang, with three design studies making it far enough to become full-scale models. These include the soft "Bruce Jenner" Mustang, the over-the-top "Rambo" Mustang and the middle-ground "Arnold Schwarzenegger" Mustang, which finally became the basis for the 1994 'Stang.
By early 1991, the design language of the fourth-generation Mustang had been worked out, and the rest, they say, is history. Scroll down for the fascinating press release telling the story of the fourth-gen Mustang, and be sure to check out the gallery of horribly misguided sketches and various design studies that were all on the table in the late 1980s.
Ford unveils next-gen S-Max in Europe
Tue, 16 Sep 2014Let's get this unfortunate though important tidbit out of the way right off the bat: The Ford S-Max isn't sold in the United States, and it's not coming here, at least not anytime soon. And so it's with our European friends in mind that we share this information about the next-gen S-Max (previewed about a year ago in concept form) that is set to debut all across Europe next year and will be shown off at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. Now, moving on...
As with the first-gen S-Max, the new model will boast seating for seven passengers, along with a decent amount of storage space, all packed into a relatively reasonably sized package. Powering the front wheels (or optionally all four) will be the buyer's choice of EcoBoost gasoline-turbocharged or turbo-diesel four-cylinder engines along with automatic and manual transmission options. Included in the mix is a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost with 160 horsepower, though the 240-horse 2.0 is likely to be seen as the headliner.
There are all kinds of new technologies on offer, ranging from Adaptive Steering to Dynamic LED Headlamps with Glare-Free Highbeams, and it's all housed inside new, more sleekly designed bodywork riding atop a chassis with new suspension architecture designed to make the S-Max a people-hauler that's still fun to drive. For all the details, we suggest you scroll down below to read through Ford's official press release.
