1975 Ford F-250 Camper Special Here is a really nice 75 Ford F250 2WD Camper Special Custom Super Cab. Check out my store for more great Unique and Classic Cars. Make sure and check out the Video below. This is a sweet truck. You just don't see them like this anymore. This truck has the factory 390 V8 which is a very nice motor. The truck is a good runner and very powerful. It does have the tow package and has the trailer hookups. This truck is a 2WD. This is a Camper Special Custom with the Super Cab. This truck originally came with the factory camper and everything. It does have a slight oil leak that doesn't leak much but if you park it for a few days it will leave a couple drops. The truck is loud and sounds pretty mean the way the exhaust is. I think it might need to be tightened around the headers because it sounds like that's where some of the noise is coming from. The truck drives down the road very nice and is an easy truck to drive. It does have the dual gas tanks which is nice. I'm not sure on the amount of owners on the truck but I don't believe it was that many just by how well the truck was taken care of. The miles show 70K and I really believe they are original and have not rolled over. The exterior of this truck is in good condition but does show some wear. It is a very nice light metallic green in color and the paint has a nice shine to it. There is some faded spots in the paint mainly on the hood. There is the usual scratches and wear and tear on the exterior of any older truck. There is some damage on the passenger side where someone ran of the road and hit another car of ours and pushed it back into this truck. Check the video I show it all. The chrome front bumper and chrome factory camper mirrors are all in great condition and just shine in the sun. The back bumper is a diamond plate with the tow package. I have 3 of the 4 factory wheel covers and am missing 1 of the back ones. Left both back ones off for the pictures. Has a nice set of older Toyo tires that have plenty of tread left but do show slight signs of dry rot in places. Options: Automatic Transmission 390 V8 Factory Radio Dual Gas Tanks Tow Package The interior is very nice on this truck and one of the main reasons I believe the miles. The front bench seat does have a seat cover and I didn't want to take it off but you can see the factory seat is a little worn and that's probably why it has a seat cover. The back seat looks like it was replaced because it is red but it looks brand new and doesn't show any signs of wear. The carpets are very nice and just have a few small stains. The dash has a couple small cracks in it and both door panels are missing the armrest pads. Other then that it is very nice and you can tell was taken care of over the years. This is a very nice truck that I would just drive like it is or you could fix it up and have yourself a very nice truck. I took pictures of every detail of this car so you can get the full picture and know exactly what you are getting. Ford expands door-latch recall to 156k more vehicles, nearly 550k total
Fri, May 1 2015Ford is being inundated with recalls as of late. Just days ago it called in over 590,000 cars for a variety of issues. Now, the Blue Oval has announced an expansion of its door latch campaign to cover an additional 156,000 vehicles in North America. Counting the original 389,585 cars, this has brought the total to 545,906. Under this expansion, the same models are affected, but Ford is broadening the coverage dates in some cases. The recall covers the 2011-2014 Fiesta, 2013-2014 Fusion, and 2013-2014 Lincoln MKZ; there are 456,440 units in the US, 50,681 in Canada, and 38,785 in Mexico in need of repair. In these vehicles, a door might not latch because of a broken pawl spring tab. Even if a passenger can successfully close it, the faulty part could unlatch while driving. According to Ford, there are two allegations of doors bounding back and hitting a person. There's also one possible accident from a door opening and striking another vehicle. Dealers will replace all of the latches to fix the problem. Related Video: MAY 1, 2015 | DEARBORN, MICH. FORD EXPANDS DOOR LATCH SAFETY RECALL IN NORTH AMERICA DEARBORN, Mich., May 1, 2015 – Ford Motor Company is expanding a safety recall regarding door latches to include approximately 156,000 more vehicles at the request of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, bringing the total to 545,906 vehicles in North America. The door latch in certain vehicles may experience a broken pawl spring tab, which typically results in a condition where the door will not latch. If a customer is then able to latch the door, there is a potential the door may unlatch while driving, increasing the risk of injury. Ford is aware of a total two allegations of soreness resulting from an unlatched door bouncing back when the customer attempted to close it, and one accident allegation when an unlatched door swung open and struck the adjacent vehicle as the driver was pulling into a parking space. Affected vehicles include certain 2011-14 Fiesta vehicles built at Cuautitlan Assembly Plant, Nov. 3, 2009 to May 31, 2013; certain 2013-14 Fusion vehicles built at Hermosillo Assembly Plant, Feb. 1, 2012 to May 31, 2013; certain 2014 Fusion vehicles built at Flat Rock Assembly Plant, April 12, 2013 to April 26, 2013; and certain 2013-14 Lincoln MKZ vehicles built at Hermosillo Assembly Plant, Feb. 1, 2012 to May 31, 2013. There are 456,440 vehicles in the United States and federalized territories, 50,681 in Canada and 38,785 in Mexico.
70% of pickups could use aluminum by 2025
Wed, 11 Jun 2014In the next decade, the auto industry will see an explosion in its use of aluminum to cut weight and increase fuel economy, according to a study from market analysts Ducker Worldwide cited by The Detroit News. We are already seeing the lightweight metal show up extensively in luxury models from Europe, but with the impending launch of aluminum-intensive 2015 Ford F-150 (pictured above), North America is using it even more, as well. The report predicts 70 percent of US pickups to have aluminum bodies by 2025.
It won't just be pickups that see the benefit, though. The average amount of aluminum in US vehicles is forecasted by the study to grow from an average of 350 pounds in 2013 to about 550 pounds by 2025. The most common parts to use it will be hoods, doors and - to some extent - roofs, as well.
The massive increase in pickups' aluminum content hardly seems surprising. The F-150 is predicted to use so much that it might cause a short-term shortage, according to one earlier report. At the same time General Motors is heavily rumored to be negotiating with suppliers for the next generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. Ram is the last holdout of the Big Three, but the study predicts that not to last.
Reflecting on the Ford GT on its 10-year anniversary
Thu, 10 Apr 2014Ten years ago, during the bright-eyed enthusiasm of the early 2000s and before the collective automotive industry did its best Titanic impression, we had the Ford GT. An everyman's supercar like there'd never been (remember, this was before 638-horsepower Corvettes were a thing), the GT arrived with a supercharged, 5.4-liter V8 that produced 550 horsepower and graced this retro-styled rocket with an easy, sub-four-second sprint to 60 miles per hour.
Equal to the GT's performance were its looks. Inspired by the GT40 racers that dominated Le Mans and bested Ferrari in the 1960s, the sleek, low, almost-reptilian look of the GT was the absolute pinnacle of the retro styling that so defined the early 2000s.
Crank and Piston put together a video celebrating the ten-year-old GT, arguing that Ford is a bit too busy with the next-gen Mustang, which turns 50 next week, to do it themselves. In the short clip, there is gratuitous engine noise and supercharger whine, not to mention scenes of the white-on-red GT prowling the deserts and streets of Dubai. It's a bit short, but very nicely shot. Scroll down, have a look and be sure to turn up those speakers before getting started.
