 98 Ford F-250 LD 4X4

Good running, clean looking F-250. Was a daily driver until the family outgrew the regular cab. 4.6 with 195,000 miles, but has always been dependable. 5 speed manual with about 40,000 on the current clutch. No leaks and only uses about a quart of oil in-between changes. Has been serviced by myself regularly. Interior is almost perfect with the exception of the headliner. It has a few tears and holes. COLD a/c - power windows/locks - cruise and tilt. Factory AM/FM cassette. 60/40 Split bench with storage console.
Exterior is in good condition. A few small spots with clear coat issues and just a speck of rust on the fender above the wheelwells. It is currently in need of 3 things. Donut gasket for the exhaust. Inspection still good though. A wiper arm and the starter will sometimes act up.
Tires are still good - probably around 60%.

MyFord Touch getting buttons and knobs back to counter criticisms

Mon, 17 Jun 2013

Ford deserves credit for being a front-runner in offering advanced infotainment technology with its Sync and MyFord Touch systems, but continued consumer complaints over its confusing touchscreen interface and capacitive controls has made the automaker relent. The Wall Street Journal reports that physical buttons and knobs for controlling tuning and volume will be coming back to Ford vehicles equipped with the controversial infotainment system.
The 2013 F-150 with MyFord Touch gives us a glimpse of what the new layout with buttons and knobs might look like, as Ford says a similar balance of touch screen capability and buttons/knobs are what's being planned for future models. And, while capacitive controls have no fans in the halls of Autoblog, many of Ford's models with MyFord Touch do have a large physical knob for adjusting volume with integrated buttons for tuning and advancing tracks, though most of those are models with the optional upgraded Sony Audio system. Lincoln models with MyLincoln Touch, however, feature only capacitive controls for all stereo and climate functions.
Despite receiving enough complaints to throw buttons and knobs back into the mix (a move that reminds us of BMW's iDrive trajectory, among others), Ford reports that Sync and MyFord Touch have still been sold on 79 percent of its 2013 model year vehicles, a number it claims is double the rate that Honda and Toyota are getting for their infotainment systems. Ford also states that owners who do opt for the duo of technologies are more satisfied with overall vehicle quality than those who don't have it.

Inside the 2016 Ford Focus RS at the New York Auto Show

Fri, Apr 3 2015

The Ford Focus RS made its US debut Wednesday at the New York Auto Show, offering Americans their first chance to experience the hot hatch live and in the flesh. Naturally, we wanted to know more, especially about what the Focus RS will mean to US buyers. We caught up with John Wicks with Ford Performance program management and Omar Odeh, a Focus product marketing manager, on the show floor of the Javits Center in New York, where they explained the ins- and outs of all-things Focus RS. The car was first revealed in Germany in February, and then traveled to the the Geneva Motor Show in March. It will employ a modified version of the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder used in the 2015 Mustang tuned to make more than 315 horsepower. It also received upgraded brakes, suspension components and aerodynamic pieces compared with more sedate Focus models. Underscoring its sporting credentials, Ken Block helped Ford engineers during the hatch's development, and the Focus RS showcases a new all-wheel-drive system with torque-vectoring. The New York show debuted two colors that will be worn on the production Focus RS: a light, bright shade called Nitrous Blue and a more sinister hue named Stealth Gray. The Focus RS enters production late this year at a factory in Germany. New York Auto Show Ford Hatchback Performance Videos 2015 ny auto show

2015 Ford Edge First Drive [w/videos]

Thu, Mar 12 2015

We're routinely told that it's not easy being the middle child. The oldest sibling will always outshine the rest, while the youngest is routinely doted upon. The middle child, meanwhile, is seemingly never able to measure up. You know the drill: Marcia, Marcia, Marcia! But that hasn't really been the case for Ford's mid-kid crossover, the Edge. Sandwiched between its highly successful big brother, the Explorer, and the stylish younger brother, the Escape, the Edge has had plenty of its own bragging rights over the years. It's where the Blue Oval chose to first launch MyFord Touch in 2011, and was one of the company's first applications of an EcoBoost engine in a CUV. For 2015, Ford has given the Edge a brand-new outfit, complete with stand-out sheetmetal and a revamped 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine fitted with a twin-scroll turbocharger and direct-injection. The result is a vehicle that truly stands out from its compact and fullsize siblings while promising to retain Ford's edge in the midsize CUV market. Where many of Ford's cars have opted for a slim, Aston Martin-like grille, the new Edge's face is big and bold. It's around back, however, where the Edge really comes up with its own personality. The slimmer D-pillar forms the edges of a more aggressively raked rear window. It's difficult to spot in pictures, but the result is a decidedly more assertive profile than the outgoing CUV. Beyond that, the rear is home to Fusion-inspired taillights, although unlike Ford's popular midsize sedan, they're joined together by a vehicle-spanning lighting element that prominently features a Ford badge at its center. Ford's work on the Edge's interior is less progressive, though. The owner of a 2014 model wouldn't feel the least bit out of place climbing behind the wheel of a 2015, as it features Ford's same reconfigurable instrument cluster, and a center stack that's been crowned by the latest (and final) edition of MyFord Touch. Meanwhile, more JD Power Initial Quality Study-friendly buttons have replaced the obstinate and unintuitive touch-capacitive controls. The conservative take on the interior design belies the big improvements in material quality. The leather inserts in the doors are more heavily padded and the plastics are far softer. It's a similar story throughout the cabin, where owners will notice softer dash plastics and generally richer materials.
