You are bidding on one tough 1997 Ford F250 Short Bed Crew Cab 7.3 Liter Powerstroke. She has close to 300k in miles, the engine was rebuilt by the previous owner and has less then a 100k on it. Turbo, AC/Heat and power all work well.

The Good:
-Truck runs great always starts up like a dream.
-Replaced transmission when I bought the truck a year and a half ago.
-Banks Power Pack...hauls
-Goose Neck Trailer and Tow Hitch
-Tool Box in bed
-CD Player with Aux input
-Rust proofing on undercarriage and paint on bed liner
-Interior is pretty good shape for a 97, although there are some stains present
-Manual trans with Hearst shifter

-New shocks and struts
-Tires have less then 10k on them, Cooper Tires

The Not so Great:
-Hood has paint that is flaking probably from its time in Texas
-Driver door has trouble opening from inside
-Some occasional surface rust as seen in the pictures below
-Rear driver door does not open/lock jammed
-May need an alignment
-Chugs fuel 10-14 MPG, depending on what your doing.

I love this truck but it is not practical for me anymore I own a Demolition company and used to haul a welding/cutting gas trailer all over the country, we got rid of the trailer hence I do not need the truck anymore. It will provide a 7.3 enthusiast with a lot of enjoyment.

Ford Explorer is America's new favorite police car

Mon, 24 Mar 2014

There is a new vehicle that you should keep an eye out for when you're going a little too fast down the Interstate. Ford's Explorer-based Police Interceptor Utility was the bestselling new law enforcement model in the country last year, and signs show that won't be changing anytime soon.
Ford sold 14,086 Interceptor Utilities in 2013, up 140% from the year before, and 10,897 Interceptor Sedans, up 31%, according to USA Today. Overall, the brand's police sales were up 48 percent, and they were enough to boost the company's law enforcement vehicle market share by 9 points to nearly 50 percent.
The success comes just a few years after it made the decision to finally retire the long-serving Crown Victoria-based cruiser for two more modern vehicles. "We had to reinvent the category," said Chris Terry of Ford Communications to Autoblog. The automaker had to convince police departments that a unibody chassis without a V8 could perform better than a model that had been a law enforcement staple for years.

Ford partnering with MIT, Stanford on autonomous vehicle research

Fri, 24 Jan 2014

Ask any car engineer what's the biggest variable in achieving fuel economy targets, and he'll tell you "the driver." If one human can't understand human driving behavior enough to be certain about an innocuous number like miles per gallon, how is an autonomous car supposed to figure out what hundreds of other drivers are going to do in the course of a day? Ford has enlisted the help of Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to find out.
Starting with the automated Fusion Hybrid introduced in December, MIT will be developing algorithms that driverless cars can use to "predict actions of other vehicles and pedestrians" and objects within the three-dimensional map provided by its four LIDAR sensors.
The Stanford team will research how to extend the 'vision' of that LIDAR array beyond obstructions while driving, analogous to the way a driver uses the entire width of a lane to see what's ahead of a larger vehicle in front. Ford says it wants to "provide the vehicle with common sense" as part of its Blueprint for Mobility, preparing for an autonomous world from 2025 and beyond.

White House clears way for NHTSA to mandate vehicle black boxes

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

At present, over 90 percent of all new vehicles sold in the United States today are equipped with event data recorders, more commonly known as black boxes. If the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gets its way, that already high figure will swell to a full 100 percent in short order.
Such automotive black boxes have been in existence since the 1990s, and all current Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Toyota vehicles are so equipped. NHTSA has been attempting to make these data recorders mandatory for automakers, and according to The Detroit News, the White House Office of Management Budget has just finished reviewing the proposal, clearing the way. Now NHTSA is expected to draft new legislation to make the boxes a requirement.
One problem with current black boxes is that there's no set of standards for automakers to follow when creating what bits of data are recorded, and for how long or in what format it is stored. In other words, one automaker's box is probably not compatible with its competitors.
