This is a 3 owner truck. I have owned this truck since November 2008. When I purchased it in 08 it had 92,724 miles. The truck has 176,850 miles on it now. The oil and filter has been charged every 4,000 miles and the fuel / air filters every 12,000. I have done all the oil and filter changes myself and have lubricated the chassis at every oil change. I have always used Wix filters and used Stanadyne fuel conditioner. I have had the transmission flushed by Ford at 94,008 & 159,360 miles. The differential fluid was changed at 120,098 miles with Amsoil synthetic. The front wheel bearings were packed at 94,289 & 170,270 with Amsoil synthetic grease. The radiator was flushed with distilled water and replaced with new coolant at 146,323. I did a complete brake job at 170,270 which included turning front rotors & rear drums, replaced both front calipers and both rear wheel cylinders, master cylinder, brake booster, diversion valve and finally the vacuum pump. ( the vacuum pump was the problem the whole time.... It just happened to be the last thing I replaced !!!!! .) The tires were installed on 10/22/10 at 133,784. They are Firestone Transforce HT. the tires are rated for 60,000, they still have a lot left. I have them rotated every 8 to 10,000.The gentleman that I purchased the truck from had the transmission rebuilt at 78,673. It has a Axiom heavy duty converter and a Transco shift kit. I have describe the history of the maintenance as good as possible. The A/C blows cold and the heater is hot. Every thing works as it should. No rust. The paint looks great, there are a few dings but not worth worrying about. I took a pic of the worst one on the rear passenger door. My portable cover got caught by the wind and the pole rubbed the door. I used this truck to pull a small bumper pull camper that weighed around 5,200 pounds. This truck will get 20 mpg at 2000 rpm... Around 60 mph empty, around 14 mpg pulling my trailer. As far as the interior, it looks almost new. The seats and carpet show very lite wear. They have always been covered and will include the covers. The truck will also include a complete set of Huskey floor liners. I left the rear set cover on in the pictures, just because it was difficult to install. It is just a clean as the front seats. I would be very surprised to see a 1997 as clean as this anywhere for sale. If you are the buyer of this truck you will not be disappointed. If you have any questions e-mail them to me. You can pick this up locally or I can help you arrange for transport. The buyer will be responsible for delivery cost. I can also be contacted at 979-236-6003.

Ford ditching Microsoft in favor of BlackBerry QNX for next-gen Sync?

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

Ask the average consumer - at least, those who follow the goings-on in the automotive industry - which carmaker they'd most closely associate Microsoft, and the answer you'd most likely get would be Ford. The Blue Oval automaker, after all, was at the forefront of bringing Microsoft technology into cars with its pioneering Sync system, and, though reality didn't turn out as such, Ford's CEO was recently touted as a potential future head of the Redmond-based software giant. But that relationship, according to the latest reports, could be coming to an end.
Alan Mullaly kiboshed the idea of leaving Dearborn for Redmond, but more importantly Ford is tipped to be ditching Microsoft in developing its next-generation Sync system. In its place, Ford is expected to partner with BlackBerry's QNX division.
Now, before you go balking "BlackBerry?! But they're finished!" consider that QNX is (or at least was) an independent entity that Research In Motion (as BlackBerry's Ontario-based parent company was then known) just happened to have bought back in 2010. QNX provides control systems to everything from nuclear power plants and UAVs to automakers like Audi, BMW and Porsche.

Ford Australia reveals updated Territory, Falcon via Twitter

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

Ford may have tied together much of its global lineup under the One Ford campaign, but one market where it still offers unique products is Australia. That will soon draw to a close as well, but before it does, the Blue Oval's Aussie operations are rolling out refreshed versions of its two unique products. For the moment, Ford isn't revealing much in the way of powertrain details, but it has shown off a couple of snaps of the revised products on its in-market Twitter feed.
First up is the new Territory. The SUV is neither based on a front-drive crossover platform nor on a truck frame, but shares its rear-drive underpinnings with the Falcon, taking it a step beyond the Falcon wagon alongside which it sits in Ford's Aussie range. Like the outgoing third-generation SZ Territory, the facelifted version is dominated by a narrow grille and larger front air dam, but further punctuates its big-chinned look with more rugged lower cladding and other metallic inserts that bring its look up to date.
And there's the Falcon, which Ford revealed in XR8 trim just last week and is now presenting in G6E spec. If the XR8 is the performance model, the G6E is the luxury version, swapping in more refined trim like a chrome-slat grille (instead of a black honeycomb), chrome foglamp surrounds, less-aggressive multi-spoke wheels (instead of five-spokes) and a flatter hood (instead of a power bulge). Otherwise, it looks essentially the same as the one we saw last week, its facelift bringing it more in line with the smaller, front-drive Mondeo (which we know here as the Fusion) and other members of the Ford family.

Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage

Mon, 03 Jan 2011

The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.
