1996 Ford F250 Xlt 4wd W/ 460 on 2040-cars
Hollywood, Maryland, United States
For auction: 1996 Ford F250 XLT with 4WD and a fuel injected 460. It is a pretty basic work truck, but has power windows, power locks, cruise control (inop), AC (inop) The truck runs and drives fine, but it has all the issues that should be expected with a vehicle of this age. This truck has its fair share of rust underneath. The front main seal leaks, but not bad enough for me to need to add oil between changes. The front u-joints need to be replaced, but that just keeps me from using the 4WD. The seat sags on the driver's side. I have never gotten the cruise control to work. Driver's door sags and needs replacement hinge pins. Tires are in reasonable shape. I have enjoyed the truck. Obviously, I did not have to drive it much (40k miles over 12 years), but it has been a workhorse when I needed it to be. I finally broke down and bought a new truck, so I don't need this one anymore. I may be able to deliver within 50 miles for an extra $100, but you must contact me to coordinate this before auction close. |

Michigan museum offers Model T driving classes
Sun, 29 Dec 2013Halfway between Detroit and Chicago, there is a car museum that gives visitors a unique level of interaction with antique cars. The Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI has a driver's training class to teach people of any age to learn how to drive a Ford Model T.
From the crank starter to the column-mounted throttle control, this driving school teaches people all there is to know about driving and operating a Model T. Each class lasts about two and a half hours and is only open to 18 students. There are ten sessions planned for 2014 - twice a day on May 3, June 22, July 22, August 23 and September 14. The class costs $95 (or $85 for members), and it also includes a tour of the museum's automobile collection.
In addition to this driving school, the museum has plenty of exhibits on the property, and it's open all but three days per year (Easter, Christmas and New Year's Day) with free admission for school field trips and active military. Be sure to check out the Gilmore Car Museum's website or visit them on Facebook for more info.

Former Ford CEO Mulally won't run for president
Mon, 15 Sep 2014Alan Mulally will not be following his successful term as president and CEO of Ford Motor Company with a run at an even bigger presidency. Rumors that the 68-year-old former Boeing exec would make a run at the White House sprouted after his apparent dodging of a reporter's questions about a potential candidacy during a forum in Indianapolis.
"I really think it's important that we all pull together. We really need to pull together around a compelling vision for our country and a comprehensive strategy to do it and work together. We really need to do it," Mulally said at the conference, according to The Detroit News.
He's since clarified by saying, "[I'm] honored at the suggestion, but that is not a role I am considering."
