1995 2wd F250 with a 7.3L Powerstroke
Single Cab, Long Box, with dual tanks. Pretty much bone stock. Spent most of its life as a fleet vehicle. I've put on about the last 35K miles or so.
I replaced the carpet, seat, radio, headliner, and window weather stripping when I got the truck. I put down Frost King insulation over rubberized undercoating to help kill sound in the cab, then laid down new carpet with mass backing from Stockinteriors.com, and it works pretty well. Truck has a DIN style CD/DVD player. It doesn't have the flip up screen, just the small single screen, but the built in GPS does work. My smart phone is quicker, but it does do a decent job.
I replaced the Transmission last january and its got around 10K on it since then. I had paperwork on the job, but can't find it. I do know when AAMCO rebuilt they also replaced the torque converter and added a shift kit tailored for daily driving and towing. It drives and shifts very smoothly.
I rebuilt most of the outer front end last spring, to include the driver's side spindle, all new bearings and seals, new hubs, new discs, new brake pads, new calipers, and new lines. I also replaced the rear hard and soft lines. The rear brakes are currently not connected. One of the bleeder zerts snapped off, so the line is capped. I have included in the sale a new brake cylinder, I just never got around to installing it.
Just put two new batteries in the truck back in August, the AC pump with a recharge and a new serpentine belt in July, and the vacuum pump back in May.
It has normal wear and tear, a little salt rust,, and plenty of life left in her.
The truck runs great for what it is: a 15 y.o. work truck with a nice radio and almost 300,000 miles. it'll give someone a good work truck, camp truck, wood druck, or first truck for a low price. The rear tires are great, and the front ones are showing wear. I'll also include three spares on good rims. The tires are a run-at-your-own-risk type of item, but the rims are good and hold air if someone wanted a summer and winter set.
I'm also including with the truck the Haynes, Chilton, and Diesel tech manuals. They were a valuable resource when I was doing maintenance.
Now for the bad:
The glow plugs don't work. The truck starts and runs great in the summer, if its plugged in (it has a block heater), or with a shot of stating fluid. I don't know if its the plugs or the solenoid. I always kept it plugged in, so I didn't notice it until a particularly late day at work.
The volt meter does not register. I can show with a multi-meter that the alternator is charging, but the gauge isn't sweeping. Not sure why.
The cable selector switch between the dash and the air box is not working, so the air is either all the way to warm, or all the way to cold. I can show the buyer how I bypassed this issue, but its kind of difficult to explain without hands-on demonstration.
I would have no issues driving the truck cross country. It runs well, is comfortable and surprisingly quiet, and got decent mileage for a large vehicle.
The truck is for sale locally as well, and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time for a buyer. This is a no reserve auction. If you bid, and are the high bidder, you will own it. I expect 500 non-refundable deposit via paypal with 24 hours, and the remainder via cash or cashier's check when the buyer picks it up.
Sellers with recent negative, or less than 15 feedback must contact me prior to bidding or risk having their bids cancelled. I will respond to any questions and provide my phone number for any questions asked through ebay.

Ford Escort Concept goes back to basics
Fri, 19 Apr 2013Here's the thing about China: The folks buying cars there have a very different set of standards than shoppers in many other markets around the globe. While we all drool over hot metal with bold designs, and while we appreciate automakers going an extra step to inject even their cheapest offerings with aggressive and interesting cues, that sort of sheetmetal sex appeal doesn't always sell in the People's Republic. Case in point is Jaguar, which may be designing a more traditional-looking version of its XJ for the Chinese market, or more to the point of this story, Ford currently sells the less-exciting, last-generation Focus compact in China right alongside the new one.
So consider this new Shanghai-bound C-segment concept a preview of what's to come for that more traditional, budget-minded, less-sexy market. More proof of this pudding: Ford's even calling this concept the Escort - a nod to the Blue Oval's compact car days of yore, and a name that stirs up thoughts of basic, affordable transportation rather than great driving dynamics or bold design. "Customers in China described seeking a vehicle that is stylish - but not one that is arrogant or pretentious," Ford states. And this new Escort concept previews a possibility of providing exactly that for this rapidly expanding automotive market.
What you're looking at, then, is one of the most simple Ford designs we've seen of late, though it still incorporates all of the automaker's latest DNA. The signature hexagonal grille is front and center, flanked by attractive LED headlamps and chrome-rimmed foglamp housings. The entire car's design focuses on clean, smooth surfaces, with one strong character line flowing from front to back just below the beltline. We will say that the car looks decidedly more premium from the rear view, where narrow, horizontal taillamps with an LED accent give the car added visual width. Bland as it may be, it's a handsome little concept, though fear what would likely happen if all of the conceptual details get dumbed down for a production model.
Lexus tops JD Power Vehicle Dependability Study again, Buick bests Toyota
Wed, Feb 25 2015It shouldn't surprise anyone, but Lexus has once again taken the top spot in JD Power's Vehicle Dependability Study. That'd be the Japanese luxury brand's fourth straight year at the top of table. The big news, though, is the rise of Buick. General Motor's near-premium brand beat out Toyota to take second place, with 110 problems per 100 vehicles compared to Toyota's 111 problems. Lexus owners only reported 89 problems per 100 vehicles. Besides Buick's three-position jump, Scion enjoyed a major improvement, jumping 13 positions from 2014. Ram and Mitsubishi made big gains, as well, moving up 11 and 10 positions, respectively. In terms of individual segments, GM and Toyota both excelled, taking home seven segment awards each. The study wasn't good news for all involved, though. A number of popular automakers finished below the industry average of 147 problems per 100 vehicles, including Subaru, (157PP100), Volkswagen (165PP100), Ford/Hyundai (188PP100 each) and Mini (193PP100). The biggest losers (by a tremendous margin, we might add) were Land Rover and Fiat, recording 258 and 273 problems per 100 vehicles. The next closest brand was Jeep, with 197PP100. While the Vehicle Dependability Study uses the same measurement system as the Initial Quality Survey, the two metrics analyze very different things. The VDS looks at problems experienced by original owners of model year 2012 vehicles over the past 12 months, while the oft-quoted IQS focuses on problems in the first 90 days of new-vehicle ownership. Like the IQS, though, the VDS has a rather broad definition of what a problem is. Because of that, a low score from JD Power is no guarantee of extreme unreliability, so much as just poor design. In this most recent study, the two most reported problems focused on Bluetooth connectivity and the voice-command systems. The former leaves plenty of room for user error due to poor design (particularly true of the Bluetooth systems on the low-scoring Fords, Volkswagens and Subarus), while the second is something JD Power has already confirmed as being universally terrible. That makes means that while these studies are important, they shouldn't be taken as gospel when it comes to automotive reliability. How and why Ford is rolling out Vignale in Europe
Wed, 09 Oct 2013
We know that Ford is positioning the new, upscale Vignale brand in Europe to fill a niche market of customers who want a bit more luxury, a lot more service and the same reliability and dependability that a non-Vignale Ford offers. But so far, we've been in the dark regarding how the Blue Oval will sell Vignale vehicles, how many of them will be created, and what the new sub-brand has in store for the future.
Gaetano Thorel, Ford's European marketing head, recently was interviewed by Automotive News and shared details about Ford Vignale. Thorel says, "The Vignale trim line will be priced like an ST model but attract a completely different type of customer." Specifically, he says it will attract customers in the upper 15 percent of the price band who don't want a performance-oriented ST model. He adds that Vignale cars will be about 10 percent more expensive than Titanium-trim cars. About 500 of Ford's European dealers will sell Vignale Fords, Thorel says, "in areas that make sense." The automaker expects 10 percent of its European sales to be Vignale cars, which equates to about 5 percent of its global sales. When asked if there are any other Vignale models planned beyond the Mondeo, Thorel said, "There is nothing written in stone yet."
