Was blowing cold till the front seal started leaking on the compressor. The truck will need the A/C compressor replaced with re-built unit. Then recharge the system with R134 Freon and it will blow cold again. This should not cost more than $300 to have this done. The Heater Core has been replaced as well as the electric blower motor, it blows very hot on full heat.I never use Cruise Control but truck is equipped with it. However, it is not currently working and will need to be looked at if you like Cruise/Control and need it working."

Up for your serious consideration is a one family owned, completely frame off restoration 1986 Ford F-250 HD , XLT Lariat, Camper Special , 4X4. My father, who has passed away, purchased this truck all those years ago brand NEW of the lot from Don Kott Ford of Carson, California on March, 22nd 1986 . This completely rust free truck has spent all of her days in sunny Santa Monica, Ca until my uncle took it over after our dad died. He drove it a short time and then parked it in his garage for a few years till my husband and I took it over and put it through a major restoration that took four years and over $20K . Since the restoration the truck has been driven very little, only weekends and car shows.

Engine Rebuild:

The engine underwent a complete dis-assembly, thorough cleaning and inspection of all internal parts. All necessary  machine work was done, high quality USA made parts were used to rebuild this 460 Ford.. The engine is running well and only has ~5000 miles since the rebuild.
Other parts on / around the engine that have been replaced include--- New 5yr Battery - Battery Cables - Starter- Rebuilt Carburetor-  Fuel pump-  Water Pump- Thermostat-  All Rubber Hoses was replaced- New Super Cooling Radiator from Ford -- Factory Ford Fan Clutch--  New!! Left & Right Exhaust Manifolds-- Solid Copper Exhaust Manifold Gaskets -- Tune Up Parts -  Distributor Cap -Rotor -Spark Plugs - Plug Wire Set - Electronic Ignition Module - Rebuilt Distributor - High Heat Boot Protectors .

Transmission and Transfer Case:

We remember the transmission had been rebuilt before dad died and did not have many miles put on it. It was opened up anyway and inspected and only needed a filter kit ,  fluid change , and  the seals replaced. We also chose to install  a new chrome "Oversize" pan & filter kit. Transmission works great with no issues.
Transfer case was opened up inspected & rebuilt with a kit, all seals bearings were replaced as well as a new chain.  Both units are working great. Low gear /  Low Range she will climb up a mountain.

Body and Paint Work:

All the metal - cab, doors, fenders, bed box, are the originals and true to the truck. None of the body parts were replaced with imported after market parts. The front bumper, grill and headlamp bezels were replaced with high quality replacements. The truck body was very straight and rust free before the restoration work and did not need much if any body work at all, just needed normal prep in front of laying down a high quality paint job. The original color of the truck was red with red interior but we decided to go with "Viper Blue" and black interior which really made the truck look awesome.

Chassis:

Truck has never been in an accident, which is why the body is so straight and the chassis is perfect. Just needed to be cleaned and repainted. This was done during the restoration process. Front suspension was rebuilt .

Wheels & Tires:

A new set of  American Racing - Alum. Polished. 16X 8 inch wheels and General Grabber AT2 Studdable Tires size LT235 / 85R16   Load Range - E  Purchased at Discount Tire Store

Brakes:

A lot of money was spent on the brakes to add piece of mind for safety.
Brakes have been completely overhauled  that included the following new parts.  Power Unit  - Master Cylinder -- Rear Wheel Cylinders Left & Right -- Rear Brake Shoes -- Spring Hold Down Kits -- Rear Pressure Hose --  Both Left & Right Front Pressure Hoses -- Right & Left Front  Brake Caliper Assy. --    Front Set--disk pads     Front L&R Brake Rotor

Fuel Tanks:
Stock tanks were 16 gallon each for a total of 32 gallons. To add more range between fill up`s the Rear Fuel Tank has been replaced with a larger capacity tank. The truck now has a 36 gallon tank in the rear for a new total of 49 gallons with both tanks full

Please remember that you are NOT buying a new truck, but a ( 27 ) year old vehicle that has been restored with many hours of labor and a lot money spent for parts & supplies to make this truck run, drive, and look as close to what it ran like new.  All receipts for repairs , parts & labor will be included and passed on to the new owner. Please Note: This vehicle is being sold AS / IS Whereas and there is NO warranty or guarantee of any kind. Next Ford F-150 delayed for aluminum body panel issues?

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

The timetable for next-generation Ford F-150 may be in trouble if a report from The Truth About Cars is true. The next F-150 is slated to make extensive use of weight-saving aluminum in its body, but the aluminum alloy provided by suppliers hasn't met Ford's requirements in the earliest phases of pre-production, according to the report.
The F-150 represents a huge portion of Ford's profits and is the best-selling truck in the US, even in the face of increased pressure from cross-town rivals General Motors and Ram. While the current truck is treading water against its competition, we'd be lying if we said the F-150 weren't growing quite long in the tooth.
If production of the next-generation of the Ford cash cow, said to be based on the Atlas Concept from the 2013 Detroit Auto Show (pictured above), is delayed, it could be bad for Ford. Production at Ford's Dearborn Truck Plant is already set to be delayed six to ten weeks, missing an internal on-sale deadline of Memorial Day.

GM also sheds parts from its pickups to boost payload ratings

Thu, 31 Jul 2014

The row between Ford and Ram over who boasts the best-in-class tow rating for heavy duty pickups has revealed a number of things. Chief among them is a report that Ford removes items like the spare tire, jack, radio and center console from its vehicles in a bid to lower its base curb weight and therefore keep the truck's gross vehicle weight rating down.
For those that need a refresher, GVWR is the vehicle's curb weight plus its maximum payload. A lower GVWR allows Ford to station its F-450 among the so-called Class III pickups, despite the fact that internally, it has the makings of a more brutish Class IV truck.
Ford explains away these deletions, saying a customer could order their vehicle in such a manner. It has also come to light that Ford is not the only automaker to engage in such practices.

Ford Everest Concept shows China also has an affinity for big trucks

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

The Ford Everest Concept SUV at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show shows the future of the Blue Oval's truck line in China. While a concept for now, we're told that JMC, Ford's Chinese joint-venture partner, will build a production version sometime in the near future.
With design from Ford's Asia Pacific design team, the handsome seven-passenger SUV shows off some very muscular styling with wraparound headlights that hook into the contours of the angular trapezoidal grille. The beltline rises up the body in the rear and makes the back appear higher than the front. The rear is made from hard, chiseled contours that give the truck a very tough look. The Everest looks ready for some rough roads.
Ford is keeping the interior and mechanical details about the Everest a secret for now, but the SUV is rumored to share some components with the overseas Ranger pickup. The company has no plans to sell the truck in North America. Scroll down to read the official announcement, including the few details on its production.
