Super clean 1968 Ford F-250.

Was purchased new on the West Coast and has been in Southern California for decades. Purchased from an estate sale where I bought it from the original owner's daughter. Her father restored the truck before passing away. Everything is original except for tires, battery and carburetor, which are new. Rebuilt original 390 V8 motor runs very strong and smooth. This truck runs cool even in 100 degree weather. Transmission was rebuilt and shifts strong and smooth. I believe it is a C6. Has a dealer installed vintage A/C but now needs a new compressor. Everything works as it should. Original glass on all windows, original Philco AM radio. Interior is gorgeous with a beautifully painted inside cab and reupholstered bench seat, done in original Ford fabric.

This is not a show truck but an incredibly good looking driver. Does have some minor scratches here and there but super solid, dent free body with a very high quality paint job in its original color. Very light surface rust in the bed as it has never been repainted which makes this an excellent work truck that you can proudly show on the weekends. I get great comments and thumbs-up every time I drive it.

All work was done by the original owner so I cannot give exact details. I purchased this from a car enthusiast family. The daughter owns many classic cars and this one was taking away much needed garage space. The truck is as clean and solid as they come. You will be hard pressed to find another in this amazing condition. This is a very honest truck that is going to make her new owner extremely proud to have. I am happy to answer any and all questions to the best of my ability. Odometer shows 25,xxx which has turned over once. Very low miles since the resto/rebuild.

Very low reserve for its condition. I will assist in shipping at winning bidder's expense. Try Uship.com for great pricing.
$1,000 non refundable deposit due within 48 hours of auction's end. Remainder due in 5 days after.
Bid with confidence! Don't let this one slip away.... (Harley and Corgi not included in sale)

Detroit's new fleet of donated police cars have safety issues [w/video]

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

In a show of generosity in mid-August, Detroit's business leaders donated $8 million to the Police Department and Fire Department in order to buy 100 new police vehicles and 23 EMS ambulances. But now officers have discovered - and complained - that the police vehicles have glaring safety issues, Deadline Detroit reports. It is not made clear what models of the fleet vehicles - which include police versions of the Ford Taurus, the Chevrolet Caprice and the Dodge Charger - are affected by the safety issues.
Officers reportedly have complained that the Plexiglass partition separating front-seat officers and back-seat prisoners is easily breached, and that the front passenger seat is installed too close to the dashboard. Prisoners who manage to writhe out of their handcuffs can bend the Plexiglass and reach into the cockpit, and sitting too close to the dashboard can render airbags more dangerous and make officers more vulnerable to injury in a crash.
Mark Diaz, president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, received the complaints and reportedly said the vehicles would get safety updates addressing the issues. But Deadline Detroit reports that it checked some of the offending police cars and, as of the last few days, they hadn't been updated.

Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage

Mon, 03 Jan 2011

The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.

Ford increasing Super Duty production by 15 percent

Fri, 31 Jan 2014

Ford has announced a hefty $80 million investment in its Kentucky Truck Plant, which is responsible for building the F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 versions of the Super Duty pickup. The influx of cash will add 350 jobs to the factory.
The investment is also good for a 15-percent increase in annual production thanks to retooling and other facility upgrades, which equates to an extra 55,000 units of production. Considering that Ford makes even more money off its Super Duty than it does on the hot-selling F-150, this could mean some serious coin to Ford's bottom line.
Hop below for the full press release from Ford on its latest investment.
