1959 Ford F250 / LWB Step Side Pickup
A Real Barn / Vineyard Find

Up for auction is a complete, unmolested 1959 F250 LWB Step Side truck, we acquired this as a truck to part out as that is our
main business parting out trucks for restoration projects and felt it was worth salvaging because of its history and
it is all original except the bed*, even the seat appears to have the original upholstery.
Current bed came from a Cal Trans Maintenance truck. The 223 6 cylinder engine runs beautifully, engine
does not smoke or knock. Overall truck is in good to fair condition, it does not have much rust and the only real rust through
is shown at the corners of the doors. We have rebuilt and replaced master cylinders, clutch slave, wheel cylinders and done a complete brake job.
The gas tank and fuel system has been flushed, Carburetor rebuilt and fuel pump changed. Also a major tune up has been done.
We have a clear California title and bill of sale for the vehicle. so if you were to register it I do believe you could drive it away.
As long as you don't go far. It does need a set of tires, we put a set of used 16.5" wheels and tires on the truck as it had 4 flats
on the original 17.5" rims when we acquired it, the original rims do come with the truck, if one wants to be totally authentic.

All of this said here is the history of the truck as we know it. It spent its life as a working vineyard vehicle in the Napa Valley of California.
The truck originally came with a step side bed which as happened in the day was discarded in favor of a home made flatbed for
hauling grape boxes from the fields to processing. Truck was parked behind a barn in 1999 and basically forgotten.
We acquired it about a year ago and have had it in a storage yard waiting to be parted out. We realized it should
be given another chance once we reviewed its condition. In our clean up tore off the old wooden flat bed
, we also
had a LWB step side bed in nice condition to bring it back to more original
so this is what we are doing.
If buyer does not want that we can accommodate.

Please look carefully at the photos of this truck before bidding and please contact us to answer more questions.

Vehicle is located at our shop in Sacramento, CA where we maintain regular business hours if you should wish to look at the truck.

We ship world wide and regularly ship to Europe, New Zealand,
Australia and South America if you are an
overseas buyer we have excellent references regarding our abilities for shipping.

Ford recalling 830,000 vehicles to replace side door latches

Thu, Aug 4 2016

The Basics: Ford is conducting a recall for roughly 830,000 models. The affected vehicles include the 2013 to 2015 Ford C-Max, 2012 to 2015 Ford Focus, 2013 to 2015 Ford Escape, 2015 Lincoln MKC, 2015 Ford Mustang, and 2014 to 2016 Ford Transit Connect. The recall is focused primarily in Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, California, Arizona, Hawaii, Georgia, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Nevada, Utah, Oklahoma, Washington, and Oregon as the problem mostly affects cars in states with warm weather. The Problem: The pawl spring tab in the side door latch in the affected vehicles could break, preventing the door from latching and could even cause the door to open while driving. Injuries/Deaths: There is one reported injury and one reported accident. The Fix: Dealers will replace the affected cars' side door latches. If you own one: Reach out to your local Ford dealer to schedule a service. 2014 Ford Mustang GT

Fri, 17 May 2013

I was more than a year removed from my last experience with the Mustang GT and its delicious 5.0 V8 when this new 2014 example rolled up to my driveway recently. Good weather and a planned road trip across the state meant that I would get plenty of seat time in this conservatively specified example, too. In total, I logged about 400 miles in a week of driving - not a lot for some of you super commuters out there, but quite a lot for this work-from-home journalist.
The basic formula of the 5.0 has stayed the same for 2014. The 2013 model year saw a number of updates to keep the Mustang fresh until it's replaced with an all-new generation for 2015. So, for its bon voyage tour, the fifth-generation Pony Car has seen only a few modifications: a couple of new paint colors (Oxford White and Ruby Read Metallic), trim and wheel revisions and, sadly, the deletion of the Boss 302 from the Ford lineup. However, while the limited-edition Boss is likely to reappear sometime after the gen-six Mustang makes its debut in 2015, the GT Track Package cars like the one I tested provide at least a partial solution for those looking for hot laps.

Rowan Atkinson crashes at Goodwood Revival

Sun, 14 Sep 2014

To quote Harry Hogge (played by Robert Duvall) in Days of Thunder, "rubbin, son, is racin'." That can mean some unfortunate damage to high-end racing machinery, which may be repaired easily enough in stock car racing, but when it comes to vintage racing, the stakes can be that much higher. And yet incidents do occur, like at this weekend's Goodwood Revival.
Among the many competitors taking part in the retro racing event in England was none other than Rowan Atkinson, the actor perhaps best known for playing Mr. Bean. Driving a classic Ford Falcon Sprint in the Shelby Cup event, Atkinson (pictured above at the 2012 revival) reportedly crashed head-on into another car on track.
According to reports, the two cars up spun out. The driver in between managed to avoid a pile-up, but Atkinson couldn't steer clear and hit the obstructing vehicle. Fortunately Rowan walked away unscathed (and, we imagine, in a humorous manner), but while we don't know how extensive the damage was to the Falcon, it was enough to take it out of the race.
