Up for your consideration today we have a 1959 ford f-250 flat bed with the original motor and transmission. This truck runs and drives wonderfully but the motor is over 50 years old and can use a new valley pan gasket and some tinkering. A friend of mine found this truck in a field  few years back and put his all into building this, the truck features a v-8 engine, 4 speed manual transmission, all the original date coded glass- (passanger window cracked and both little wing windows are delaminating,1 tiny chip in windshield)- all the original guages are present and working. The generator guage needs a new light bulb. The entire brakeing system is new, New cylinders, shoes, lines, master cylinder, and slave cylinder. The generator and starter have both been rebuilt. new spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap. The original AM radio is here with the originl speaker-one of the 3 tubes in the radio does not work and the speaker needs to be re-coned. A new cd player was installed in the glove box so the dash was not cut to put it in. Speakers are in the doors of the cab,the cb does not work but the antenna goes to the radio for killer reception. The heater works, New wood in the bed, Fresh interior, new carpet. The bad part of this truck is the hood. It was left "open" and my buddy drove it down the way and the hood poped up and got a little beat up. This truck has won a local car show award even after that incident. The paint is NOT perfect anymore as this truck gets used for parades, camp trips and everything else and wont take very much to be a perfect show truck again. I think I covered everything but please feel free to ask any and all questions. The truck comes with a ton of pictures of the rebuild process and a few extra goodies. Buyer responsible for shipping, deposit due within 24 hours of auction close.

Shelby Cobra, Mercedes 300SL and 1947 Woodie from Petersen Museum headed to auction

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

The changes happening at the Petersen Museum have been making the rounds in major press, but it probably won't be until August 18, during Pebble Beach, when we get the full story on what's happening; that's where and when museum reps plan on announcing the way forward for the SoCal institution. In the meantime, the museum is still reorganizing its collection, and that means auctioning some of its showpieces at this weekend's Auctions America event in Burbank.
Three of the stars are a 1964 Shelby Cobra 289, one of less than 20 produced with a three-speed C-4 automatic transmission, a 1960 Mercedes-Benz 300SL owned by actor Robert Stack and the last 1948 Ford Sportsman 'Woodie' ever produced. The Cobra, now restored to its original white exterior and red leather interior, was a factory demonstrator that first sold for $5,250. Showing just 38,950 miles on the odometer, its pre-sale estimate is $800,000 to $1 million.
The 300SL is actually a 1957 model but wasn't titled until Robert Stack took possession in 1960. The lead actor in the The Untouchables TV series used to drive by the Sunset Boulevard Mercedes dealership to ogle the car, but couldn't justify spending the money to buy it. When he and the producer of The Untouchables won Emmys for the show, the producer, who happened to be Desi Arnaz, bought the car for Stack. He owned it his whole life, it has been left as Stack drove it and still bears the California license plate "UNTCHBL."

Ford's official Euro aftermarket partner Mountune coming to US

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

Now that we're getting a steady stream of Ford's European offerings, the aftermarket world is finally starting to catch up as well. UK-based aftermarket tuning company, Mountune has just announced that it will be setting up shop in California to provide high-performance and racing parts for Ford vehicles including the Focus ST and Fiesta ST.
Mountune lays claim to being Ford's "official European tuning partner," and US buyers will soon have access to these parts through Ford dealerships and with a Ford Racing warranty. Speaking of Ford Racing, Mountune also says that it will be working with Ford's in-house team to develop future components for both street and track. There are no specifics as of yet for which products will be offered here, but the company plans to launch a US-specific website later this month with more information.

Formula Drift kicks off 11th season on Streets of Long Beach

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The 2014 Formula Drift series kicked off last weekend in Long Beach, and saw Chris Forsberg, who you'll recall went mad and drifted around a warehouse in an Infiniti M, take the title behind the wheel of his Hankook Tire Nissan 370Z (shown above).
Forsberg really ran away with the first round of competition, outscoring his closest opponent, second-place finisher Kenneth Moen and his Bridges Racing Nissan 240SX, by 20 points. Third place was 2013 championship winner Michael Essa and his Yokohama BMW M3, 30.5 points behind Forsberg.
In the manufacturers' title, Nissan took an early lead with 122 points, which isn't a huge surprise considering five of the top ten drifters were piloting either a Z or a product of the brand's S platform. Ford, which had two drivers (Justin Pawlak and Vaughn Gittin, Jr.) in the top ten, took home second place, while BMW is currently third in the manufacturers' standings.
