LOW RESERVE

This F150 belongs to my son. He is the second owner purchasing it from a neighbor who leased it from Ford.

When my son purchased the truck he was working as a carpenter and this was his daily driver. That job is gone and he now has a family and the poor truck just sits and sits. His current job uses a furnished vehicle.

Good News:

The truck starts every time, uses no or little oil, the AC is cold and the Heater is hot. The 4wd works and the automatic trans shifts smoothly.  Flow through exhaust was installed by the first owner.

The miles are 94740

The battery was new in 2012.

All 4 tires were replaced together and have less than 1000 miles on them.

The brakes were worked on in 2012 and brake lines were replaced. They still seem spongy.

The bed liner shown and the tool cross box shown go with the deal. Adam also has a pair of Delta 6 foot carpenter boxes he will let go with the deal. They are diamond plate also. Contact him if you are interested.

Both front fenders look great. But those are the only panels on the truck that do not need body work. This truck has never been wrecked and never been to a body shop.

If you have questions feel free to contact Adam at 219-608-2541.

We live in an area where buses will bring you to us from the two large airports in Chicago. Let us know if you need help finding us. Two major interstates, I80/I90 and I94 go through our town.

On Aug-18-13 at 15:52:09 PDT, seller added the following information:

We have more pictures not shown. I can email them to you. We ran out of ebay room before I got the interior pictures loaded. Also, Adam sent me pictures of the long delta tool boxes.

MotorWeek remembers pre-EcoBoost Ford with the Thunderbird TurboCoupe

Thu, Feb 26 2015

Sometimes it feels great to embrace nostalgia for a trip down memory lane, and MotorWeek indulges that occasional desire with its regular Retro Review series. This time, the long-lived show goes back to the '80s to check out two of the top performance vehicles in the Ford lineup at the time – the 1987 Thunderbird TurboCoupe and Mustang GT. Both models had just received thorough refreshes after several years on the market. Long before an EcoBoost badge ever met its models, Ford made early forays into experimenting with turbocharging on vehicles like the T-Bird TurboCoupe. Based on MotorWeek's assessment, the company was on the right track. The boosted 2.3-liter four-cylinder was apparently a bit coarse but offered 190 horsepower with little turbo lag, compared to 155 hp the year before. The Mustang GT is likely the more-fondly remembered of these performance Fords today and provides an interesting point of comparison against the TurboCoupe. MotorWeek found some faults with the 'Stang, though. While it was quick for the time with a sprint to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds, the 'car was described as "a nose-heavy beast" for its handling. And for a look at Ford's future in turbocharging – the GT will have an EcoBoost powerplant – check out our Related Video:

Ford Mustang challenges Lamborghini in amazing drift battle

Fri, Dec 18 2015

Engines scream and tires billow with smoke as Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Daigo Saito stage a drift battle through an abandoned Japanese resort that looks like a Russian village in this stunning clip. The high-performance ballet of these amazing machines sliding around makes this one of the best videos of the year. To fight this duel, Gittin straps into his 550-horsepower Ford Mustang, and Saito meets the pony car's challenge with a drift-prepped Lamborghini Murcielago. The drivers hit a curving road and show expert car control as the men slide these very different vehicles just inches from each other. Eventually, night descends, and they add some fire to the scene to give the stunts a more apocalyptic look. The production values for this short clip are phenomenal, and the editing makes the viewer feel right in the middle of the action. If you want to get behind the scenes of this impressive display of drifting, Speedhunters did a great job capturing the event in photos. Related Video:

2020 Ford Explorer nabs IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating after updates

Mon, Sep 21 2020

The 2020 Ford Explorer has been named a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the agency's best rating. The redesigned Explorer initially fell short of that mark, however, only making the grade after Ford introduced a running change to the vehicle's design starting in May 2020 — a change made to the 2020 Lincoln Aviator as well. To achieve a Top Safety Pick+ award, a vehicle must have a Good performance rating in all six of the agency's crash tests. It also must have Acceptable or better ratings for all of its available headlamps and must earn Advanced or Superior ratings for its automated collision avoidance systems in tests of their performance against pedestrians and other vehicles. The 2020 Explorer initially achieved only an Acceptable performance in the IIHS's driver's-side small-overlap crash test, as the agency found a risk of injury to the driver's left foot due to intrusion into the footwell. Ford subsequently modified the design of the front subframe in a running change to Explorers and to Lincoln Aviators built after May 2020. The modified Explorer was re-tested, and this time the model achieved a Good performance in the driver's small-overlap test. That, combined with a Superior performance in both tests of the standard collision-avoidance system plus Acceptable ratings for both headlight systems, pushed the 2020 Explorer over the goal line to Top Safety Pick+. The Aviator, which shares the Explorer's platform, has received the same modification and achieves the same crashworthiness ratings. However, its standard headlights are judged Marginal, and therefore the 2020 Aviator achieves only the Top Safety Pick rating (even though its optional curve-adaptive LED headlights are judged Good).
