for sale is my 2010 ford raptor.  i bought it slightly wrecked with salvage title for use as my shop truck.  its not working out very well as my shop truck so i am now listing it for sale.  it was hit on passenger front corner and has dent on passenger rear end of the bed.  parts i have replaced are the right front fender, right headlight, front bumper, passenger airbag.  for the truck to be back to perfect you would need drivers airbag, both front seat belts, repaint hood, fix dent in bed and repaint and replace right rear tail light.  the parts required are cheap to buy used since they also fit regular f`150 but if you would like all the damage fixed please add $2500.00.  this would include repaint hood, both front seat belts, drivers airbag, repair dent in bed/repaint and tail light.  truck does have salvage title.  frame was bent but was pulled back perfect and i have computer print out of before and after.  truck drives and works perfectly.  has all options except sunroof and bed accesories.  this is a 5.4 engine with flex fuel and using flex fuel this truck really quick not worth extra money for 6.2 and worse fuel economy just for 90 hp.  just passed safety inspection also no problem.  if you have anyquestions just let me know.  this truck is super fun to drive and go anywhere with.  i drove it back from california and was a blast.  you can fly into st.louis and i can pick you up at the airport and you can drive it anywhere.  if you need extra pics be patient we are under a foot of snow!!! oh also has brand new 6.2 exhaust from cats back, k&n intake and new battery.  also has spray in bed liner.  this is a great truck to use as is or for a project vehicle.  i hate to sell it since its crazy fun but it just doesnt work for my business:(

let me know if you have anyquestions i will be happy to answer them
thanks and happy bidding

2015 Ford C-Max gets a corporate nose job [w/video]

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

Ford might not have the splashiest booth here at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, but the automaker is showing off quite a bit of hardware that will actually end up on roads across Europe. Parisians are no doubt tickled at getting to see the specifications of the Mustang tuned for The Continent (which has a revised suspension for European roads, and a few visual nips and tucks), in addition to the revised face of the family-friendly C-Max.
As you can see, C-Max styling has been revisited with a deft touch, grafting Ford's six-sided corporate grille on the nose, in place of the outgoing car's two-part affair. New headlights can also be found on the car's revised front fascia, though the rear end of the C-Max looks only slightly different than the current version.
Inside the cabin, Ford has consolidated controls and upped the ante in terms of material quality, with "black satin" and chrome details and more storage capacity, overall. Grocery-lugging moms and dads everywhere should appreciate the hands-free liftgate feature, as well.

Mustang driver proves wheels are overrated

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

We don't need to tell you that there's something missing in the image above. What we do need to tell you is that this is not a picture of a parked car stranded on the highway. This is, rather, just one frame from video of that three-wheeled Mustang traveling down the highway at highway-appropriate speed.
We don't know where you'd have to be nor how badly you'd have to be there to go shooting down the freeway in a car with three wheels, but if the New Daily News is correct, that place is somewhere in Texas. The video's short, but you'll have plenty of time to shake your head at it by just scrolling down.

Is it time for American carmakers to give up on dual-clutch transmissions? [w/poll]

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

Last week, in the midst of Detroit's first days seeking relief in Chapter 9 of the bankruptcy code, Automotive News contributor Larry P. Vellequette penned an editorial suggesting that American car companies raise the white flag on dual clutch transmissions and give up on trying to persuade Americans to buy cars fitted with them. Why? Because, Vellequette says, like CVT transmissions, they "just don't sound right or feel right to American drivers." (Note: In the article, it's not clear if Vellequette is arguing against wet-clutch and dry-clutch DCTs or just dry-clutch DCTs, which is what Ford and Chrysler use.) The article goes on to state that Ford and Chrysler have experimented with DCTs and that both consumers and the automotive press haven't exactly given them glowing reviews, despite their quicker shifts and increased fuel efficiency potential compared to torque-converter automatic transmissions.
Autoblog staffers who weighed in on the relevance of DCTs in American cars generally disagreed with the blanket nature of Vellequette's statement that they don't sound or feel right, but admit that their lack of refinement compared to traditional automatics can be an issue for consumers. That's particularly true in workaday cars like the Ford Focus and Dodge Dart, both of which have come in for criticism in reviews and owner surveys. From where we sit, the higher-performance orientation of such transmissions doesn't always meld as well with the marching orders of everyday commuters (particularly if drivers haven't been educated as to the transmission's benefits and tradeoffs), and in models not fitted with paddle shifters, it's particularly hard for drivers to use a DCT to its best advantage.
Finally, we also note that DCT tuning is very much an evolving science. For instance, Autoblog editors who objected to dual-clutch tuning in the Dart have more recently found the technology agreeable in the Fiat 500L. Practice makes perfect - or at least more acceptable.
