2010 Ford SVT Raptor SuperCab

Up for sale is my 2010 Ford Raptor with a clean title and professionally modified with over $10,000 worth of tasteful performance/utility/visual add-ons. This truck was in Southern California its entire life and one look underneath it shows how impeccable it truly is. Truck was loaded from the factory (see window sticker in photos) with every option available including NAV, Sunroof, Leather, Power and Heated Seats, etc.

This truck also has the Ford PremiumCARE Service Plan good for another 3 years and up to 100,000 miles which extends the full bumper-to-bumper warranty on the truck and covers absolutely EVERYTHING other than normal wear and tear such as tires, brake pads and belts. If you want this service I can transfer it to you for the remaining balance ($1,500 or so…need to check and not included in purchase price). If not, I will cancel it and get the balance refunded back to me.

Reason for Selling:
This is one of 2 vehicles I am selling trying to go down to 1 vehicle for daily use. This truck is the most attention grabbing, most fun to drive vehicle I have ever owned and I DO NOT want to sell it but am forced to for practicality.

Vehicle Condition:
The truck is mint other than a white surface scratch on the rear window where my mountain bike's handlebar slid against it. I'm sure this can be buffed out or wet sanded. Other than this, there is not a single scratch or dent on this truck anywhere. It runs and drives smooth with no rattles or vibrations.

Note that the truck has the 5.4L V8 not the 6.2L. The 5.4L was tuned for the Raptor for more HP (compared to the regular F-150) while giving you 2-3 more MPG then you will get with the 6.2L and it is much lighter and more parts being offered for it as it's been out for a longer period of time.

Watch how a Ford Raptor rolls down the assembly line in Dearborn

Sun, 30 Mar 2014

Bloomberg TV reporter Matt Miller is the proud new owner of a pretty killer truck. How do we know? The reporter headed to Dearborn, MI to Ford's assembly plant, with a film crew in tow, to see exactly how his new F-150 SVT Raptor and its mother-loving 6.2-liter V8 engine, was screwed together.
The resulting video does an excellent job of summing up how an assemblage of parts and pieces is turned into a triple-black Raptor, thanks to the work of some 1,000 employees and about 20 hours of real time. Click through below to see how the truck is born, with a surprise cameo playing the part of delivery driver at the end.

TX officer allegedly lets 140-mph street racer go with a warning [w/poll]

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

Being pulled over by the police is one of the most nerve-racking situations that a driver can go through, and it's even worse when you know that the officer has you dead to rights for speeding well over the posted limit. In this video, the driver of a heavily modified Ford Mustang with a claimed 966 horsepower at the rear wheels could have easily lost his ride for doing triple-digit speeds and street racing, but a friendly Texas police officer appears to send him on his way with a simple warning.
What's more, the driver in question wasn't just speeding - his Mustang was the camera car for a bunch of rolling street races in the wee hours of the morning on a Texas highway. The driver was more than willing to mix it up in the action, too. Eventually the cops catch on and pick the 'Stang to pull over, but not before the Ford owner runs a claimed 140 mph. With only audio to go on after the car is pulled over, the police officer seems incredibly nonchalant about catching someone who was so brazenly breaking the law. Incredibly, the patrolman actually tells the driver that he's seen everyone racing tonight but ignored them. With traffic picking up, the cop says that it's time to "cut it out" and go home for the night. As far as this video shows, that was the end of it.
Warning: There is explicit, not-safe-for-work language in the video below.

Experts wonder if aluminum F-150 gives Ford a real advantage

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

There's no doubt that Ford is taking a risk in producing the body of its upcoming new F-150 pickup truck in aluminum. What is up for debate, however, is whether aluminum was a wise risk to take in the first place. Wards Auto took the opportunity to poll some experts on the subject of aluminum versus steel in the automotive sector, with somewhat unsurprising results.
Richard Schultz, a project consultant at Ducker Worldwide, which bills itself as "a leading aluminum industry consultant (though they also deal in steels), suggests that the potential drawbacks to aluminum - higher costs, lower supply - aren't really impediments to the auto industry's increased acceptance of the lightweight metal.
Similarly, Randall Scheps, global automotive marketing director for Alcoa, a massive aluminum producer, counters claims that aluminum is less safe for vehicle occupants, suggesting that the use of aluminum can actually increase safety as it could potentially allow for larger vehicles with more crush space than steel.
