2010 Ford F-150 Fx4 on 2040-cars
Boulder, Colorado, United States
I purchased it in Grand Junction Colorado and have owned it for less than a year (getting rid of it for family reasons, boooo). Wish we didn't have to. It runs awesome and looks great. Has a 4" lift with over-sized tires and Metal Militia wheels. Has a spare tire under rear bed of truck. Has been great for towing the snowmobiles, raft, and camper. The back seats are awesome for "stuff" or two adult-sized passengers. Interior is in good-great shape. Has minor scuffs in areas where you might expect. Has XM radio, killer moonroof, black cloth, rubber floor matts in front. AC was not blowing cold when I get it but I live at high altitude and couldn't care less. No navigation, no backup assist. The exterior is a real nice blue with average wear and tear. Some underbody rust exists but nothing to be overly concerned with. Bed is covered with a hard tonneau cover which folds back in 4 sections and locks securely. Has "Back Rack" rack in the rear to protect the rear single piece of tinted glass window (not a sliding up/down rear window, sorry). Plastic/synthetic bed cover fits nicely under cover and protects the bed. Once upon a time the original owner had a leveling kit in the rear. Some electronics, hoses, and wires are still in the bed of the truck (tucked out of the way and I have never messed with them). LED lights all around in front and rear (small crack in rear driver-side LED). Front bumper has a few small scratches from bushes and desert driving. Running boards on both side are strong and in great condition.

Meet Floyd Pullin, 102-year-old honorary president of Ford trucks [w/video]
Wed, 28 Aug 2013When we talk about trucks we often talk about how loyal truck owners are; it's men like Floyd Pullin who provide the proof. The 102-year-old man from Confluence, Pennsylvania has only owned Ford products since the 1920s, and he's done so well by Ford Trucks that the division named him honorary president for a day, not long after he took delivery of his latest ride, a 2013 F-150 STX.
That's the 16th Ford he's owned. If he bought his first when he was 16, he'd have flipped into a new car or truck about every five years. For 86 years. Not a bad run of business for either side.
Ford Trucks made a video to wish Pullin a happy birthday, which was celebrated at his local Ford dealership and was visited by a Pennsylvania state senator. You can watch it below.
Ford and GM link bonus checks to quality scores
Tue, 29 Apr 2014The poor first quarter earnings of Ford and General Motors are having an effect all the way up the food chain. Both automakers struggled with recalls in the first three months of the year, and, according to The Detroit News, they have responded by increasing the percentage of bonuses tied to vehicle quality for salaried workers, including top executives.
GM announced that 25 percent of bonuses (up from 10 percent) for all salaried workers would be tied to its vehicle quality standards. The automaker revealed in its financial report that it spent $1.3 billion on recall-related repairs in the first quarter, and net income was down 86 percent.
Ford also increased the quality proportion of bonuses for about 26,000 salaried workers all the way up to CEO Alan Mulally from 10 percent to 20 percent. The company announced in its report that the amount paid out in warranty and recall claims was about $400 million higher than expected in the first quarter. Its net income fell 39 percent from the previous year. "The change reflects how critical quality is to our overall business," said spokesperson Todd Nissen speaking to Autoblog.
2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Supercrew
Fri, 15 Mar 2013I'm not normally a pickup kind of guy, but the 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor won me over nearly instantly. The street-legal trophy truck - there is really no other way to accurately describe it - is big, brawny and incredibly capable. Let's just say it's every bit the monster it visually portrays. I spent a week pretending I was one of Ford's Baja 1000 drivers, but lacking desert sand, I headed into the local mountains where a mild winter storm had dropped a couple inches of fresh snow on my favorite off-road park. The Ford was, for the most part, practically unstoppable.
Ford offers its SVT Raptor package on Supercab and Supercrew platforms with the five-foot, five-inch bed. The Supercrew I tested rides on a 144-inch wheelbase (about a foot longer than the Supercab). In addition to its cosmetic differences when compared to the standard F-150 - there isn't a young boy on the planet who doesn't think the matte black Ford grille is cool - the Raptor has a 73.6-inch track - nearly seven inches wider than the track on the standard F-150.
After upgrading the F-150 SVT Raptor significantly for the 2012 model year, there are only a few changes for 2013. The list includes standard high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps, Hill Descent Control, forged beadlock-capable wheels, and the new matte Terrain color (aka "Desert Storm") option seen on my test model.
