2009 Ford F-150 XLT "Ford's" Custom SEMA Show Truck
You're looking at a very special truck here. This Ultra Low Mileage (2095 Actual Miles) F-150 was commission by
Ford Motor Company and built by Ground Force for the 2009 SEMA Show. This Truck was built for the Ford Motor
Company to be unveiled at the 2009 SEMA Show to display the new body style. The PPG Liquid Silver Metallic Flat
paint gives the impression the truck was cut out of pure billet aluminum. This truck was a showstopper at SEMA
during its debut and has been at countless car events and shows across the country where it was a crowd pleaser at
every event. It has been featured at the SEMA twice.
With a very low serial number, this was one of the first F-150's built and time was of the essence to have it
completed by the time of the SEMA Show. It has aggressively styled custom front, rear and side body cladding,
giving this truck a unique look. KMC 24" custom semi-transparent black coated wheels wrapped in Continental Tires
add to the sharp edged stance. Magnaflow Stainless Steel exhaust system gives the truck a great sound and rumble.
The F-150 Billet features a custom 2 tone Leather and Suede interior with embroidered headrests. For a special
ride, Ground Force installed a custom 2" and 4" Performance Lowering Suspension System making this truck a standout
in the looks and handling department.
Of course, other features include the strong 5.4L Flex Fuel V8, Automatic Transmission, Power Windows on all four,
Power Driver's Seat, Power Adjustable Foot Pedals, Cruise Control, AM-FM CD Stereo, Front and Side Airbags,
Anti-Lock Brakes, Bed Rug, Extang Evolution Rear Bed Cover, Bed Assist Tailgate Handle and Tinted Windows.
There are a few small paint chips on the rear most likely from transporting and some markings on the interior sills
from being on display with folks entering and exiting the vehicle, an easy fix for each.
This Ford commissioned build is a "1 of 1" and with well over $75k invested, the lucky person who buys this truck
will be extremely pleased. This was a one owner truck until recently with only 2,095 actual miles and still smells
like a new vehicle. I purchased this truck for myself but since I'm on construction sites daily, I didn't want this
beautiful F-150 to be exposed to nails, rocks, debris etc…This awesome Ford F-150 is essentially like a brand new
truck.

Expert: 54.5 mpg CAFE standard can be reached without many plug-ins

Sat, Jan 18 2014

Johnson Controls executive Brian Kesseler isn't likely to get any holiday presents this year from Nissan chief Carlos Ghosn or Tesla Motors head Elon Musk, but lots of other folks might be happy with what he has to say about automakers' efforts to reach stricter fleetwide fuel-economy standards. Speaking at the Automotive News World Congress, Kesseler said automakers wouldn't need to sell an extensive number of plug-in vehicles in order to meet the 54.5 mile per gallon Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standard the US government set in 2012 for 2025 model-year vehicles. In fact, he said, components such as stop-start engine technology, turbochargers and direct injection may actually do the trick. Already, things like smaller engine sizes and lighter cars are already playing major roles in spurring fuel-efficiency gains. Of course, Johnson Controls sells batteries specially built for stop-start systems, so Kesseler does have a bit of skin in this game. The 54.5-mpg CAFE standard equates to about a 40-mpg "real world" fuel-efficiency level. To put that into perspective, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said in a report late last year that model-year 2013 average fuel economy was an even 24 mpg. That was up from 23.6 mpg for the 2012 model year and 22.4 mpg for 2011. Ladies Love It: Ford Fiesta wins Womens World Car of the Year

Thu, 25 Jul 2013

It's official: A panel of female automotive writers has chosen the Ford Fiesta 1.0-liter EcoBoost as the Womens World Car of the Year, and it beat tough competition like the Mazda CX-5, Range Rover and Porsche Boxster S for the overall top spot.
The CX-5 and Range Rover won the SUV and Luxury Car categories, respectively, and the Boxster S laid claim to the Sports Car category, beating the runner up Audi RS5 and third place Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ (or Scion FR-S). The Audi Allroad was named the Family car of the year.
The panel consisted of 18 female automotive writers from around the world tasked with picking the best car in each of eight categories, including top vehicle overall, using criteria that women utilize when shopping for a car. That includes safety, value-for-money, aesthetic appearance, storage space, child-friendliness, ease-of-driving, color, sex appeal and environmental footprint.

Edmunds ranks the best used cars for 2013

Sun, 15 Sep 2013

When people ask us what car we would recommend for them, it's usually not easy to answer. To make a useful recommendation we must consider which of the numerous vehicle segments fits their needs best, and then choose one of the many vehicles offered in each segment. For some people, new cars don't meet their expectations of value, because they lose so much of it the moment they are purchased and driven off the dealer lot. For them, there's always the used-car market, where great deals can be found, but cars' histories of reliability and maintenance records - and perhaps that Certified Pre-Owned warranty - become ever-important factors playing into purchase choice.
To help out, Edmunds has done us the favor of assembling a list of the best used vehicles money can buy, covering model years 2006-2011, according to what it considers the most important criteria when shopping for used autos: reliability, safety, value and availability. That means unreliable, unsafe, super-expensive or limited-edition models don't appear on the list, but instead cars from each segment that are more likely to satisfy the general population.
There are some real goodies on the list, including but not limited to vehicles such as the capable Honda Fit, the cultish Honda Accord coupe (which can be had with a 240-horsepower V6 and a six-speed manual transmission some years), and the powerful Chevrolet Corvette. While Edmunds' choice of the Volvo C70 for best used convertible baffled us at first (not that it's a bad car), it redeemed itself by stating that the Mazda MX-5 still is an unofficial top choice if you don't require more than two seats.
