Up for sale is my 2004 Ford F150 Crew Cab (4 full doors) with 63,000 original miles. This vehicle has just been serviced including oil change, new battery, new serpentine belt and pulley, and windshield wipers. I just had my mechanic go through the vehicle and he gave the thumbs up to sell. The tires on the truck are four matching tires with maybe 2k of wear. The transmission shifts smoothly and the air conditioning is very cold. All mechanical items are in working condition. The truck is completely stock with factory foor mats, keys, and remote entry. This has been my daily driver and I would not hesitate to drive this truck anywhere in the country. Options: Automatic Transmission 2WD ABS Braking Tow Package 5.4 liter V8 Motor Power Windows and Locks Cruise Control Ice Cold Air Conditioning Leather Seating 18" Alloy Wheels Bed Liner CD Stereo System Two Keys One Remote Factory Floor Mats Running Boards Interior Condition: The interior is clean and is free of major defects. The passengers rear door has some discoloration around the speaker cover (see pic). Exterior Condition: The exterior of the vehicle does have some scratches mostly on the drivers door and fender. The drivers door has two scratches that have been touched-up. One scratch is about three inches and the other is about two inches. The drivers fender has a touch-up scratch about three inches and a small dent near the headlight. The rear bumper is damaged and could be replaced for about $300 with shipping. All damage/wear are noted in the pictures. Auction Guidelines: There is a $200 non-refundable deposit due withing 48 hours of the end of the auction and full payment is due within 7 days. Sorry I can't list my personal number on ebay, but if your seriously interested email me and I will respond with a phone number. Check out my feedback and bid with confidence. I have sold cars on ebay before and it seems to be the best way for myself and the buyer. I am not a dealer, this is my personal vehicle. Ford made three big mistakes in calculating MPG for 2013 C-Max Hybrid

Tue, Jun 17 2014

It's been a rough time for the official fuel economy figures for the Ford C-Max Hybrid. When the car was released in 2012, Ford made a huge deal about how it would beat the Toyota Prius V, which was rated at 42 combined miles per gallon, 44 city and 40 highway. The Ford? 47 mpg across the board. How did Ford come to this place, where its Prius-beater turned into an also-ran? Well, after hearing customer complaints and issuing a software update in mid-2013, then discovering a real problem with the numbers last fall and then making a big announcement last week that the fuel economy ratings of six different 2013 and 2014 model year vehicles would need to be lowered, the C-Max Hybrid has ended up at 40 combined, 42 city and 37 highway. In other words, the Prius trumps it, as daily drivers of those two vehicles have known for a long time. The changes will not only affect the window sticker, but also the effect that the C-Max Hybrid (and the five other Ford vehicles that had their fuel economy figures lowered last week) have on Ford's compliance with greenhouse gas and CAFE rules for model year 2013 and 2014. How did Ford come to this place, where its Prius-beater turned into an also-ran? There are two technical answers to that question, which we've got below, as well as some context for how Ford's mistakes will play out in the bigger world of green vehicles. Let's start with Ford's second error, which is easy to do since we documented it in detail last year (the first, needing to do a software update, was also covered). The basic gist is that Ford used the general label rule (completely legally) to test the Fusion Hybrid and use those numbers to figure out how efficient the C-Max Hybrid is. That turned out to be a mistake, since the two vehicles are different enough that their numbers were not comparable, despite having the same engine, transmission and test weight, as the rules require. You can read more details here. Ford's Said Deep admitted that the TRLHP issue is completely separate from the general label error from last year. Now let's move on to last week's announcement. What's interesting is that the new recalculation of the MPG numbers – downward, of course – was caused by a completely separate issue, something called the Total Road Load Horsepower (TRLHP). Ford's Said Deep admitted to AutoblogGreen that the TRLHP issue had nothing to do with the general label error from last year.

Just in time for the holidays, Snowkhana 3 is here

Tue, Dec 9 2014

The gift list for the 12 Days of Christmas is frightfully heavy on birds, so surely no one will mind if we sub out the three French hens for Snowkhana 3. Ford of Europe is back with another stop-motion video that – like versions one and two – throws a 1:64-scale Ford Fiesta in Ken Block livery around a fabulous world of action figures and make believe. This year's video "drives rings around some of the biggest YouTube hits," so those of you who've lost years of your lives to the greatest distraction since the human navel can put your knowledge to use. For anyone else just catching up, we'll help you get rolling: the opening Snowkhana scene channels Stalking Cat. You'll find the rest of your holiday homework in the video.

Is Tesla's next project an F-150 competitor? [w/poll]

Wed, 13 Nov 2013

What's the future look like for Tesla after it launches the Model X CUV and possibly a smaller, sub-Model S sedan? Would you believe a pickup truck? Yes, Tesla could be looking to use its EV know-how to take the fight to Ford and the F-150, based on comments made by company founder Elon Musk.
"If you're trying to replace the most gasoline miles driven, you have to look at what people are buying," Musk said during an impromptu Q&A session following a speech at Business Insider's Ignition conference. "[The F-150 is] the best selling car in America. If people are voting that's their car, then that's the car we have to deliver."
And while the idea of electric pickup may sound kind of absurd to some, Musk makes a very valid point - if Tesla's goal is to replace gas miles with electrical miles, it simply can't afford to ignore pickups.
