For sale is a 2001 Ford F-150 4.6 V8 automatic transmission 4x4 , I am selling this truck for a friend of mine , he is buying another vehicle and needs to sell this truck for his down payment. So this truck is being sold cheap for a quick sale it will also be advertised locally so don't miss out. This truck is at a great price even with the few issues it has. First the truck has a clear Florida title it shows no wrecks on car fax and got a good score. My friend has owned it for many years and has taken care of it pretty good . The mileage shows 232916 His uncle put a used engine in this truck less then 2 years ago it came from a very low mileage vehicle , there is no timing noise when starting this truck. I have been his mechanic on this truck as well. The exterior is white and it is decent it does have misc scratches and such on both sides but the white color hides most , and it has a few slight dents but nothing really that you can even notice the hood had a spot were it was pealing so he sprayed some white paint over it , the tail gate has missing paint on it as well. here is flaws on exterior ; 1. scratches 2. cracked right rear tail light at bottom still works fine 3. right front fog light doesn't work 4 slight ding/dent in a few places 5 rear bumper not 100 perfect but not noticeable interior is decent carpet does have some stains same as seats but how clean the photos show is how he kept this truck but if you wanted to have it shampooed it can be even better , the drivers seat has a tear from wear in the common place it can be at least sewn up. power windows and locks work , radio works not sure on cd player , headliner is very nice , no cracks in the dash , truck seats 6 , here are flaws with interior 1. right front window tint not the best but not pealning 2. small tear on side of drivers seat 3. headlight switch missing knob 4. Plastic tap broke that holds cord that shows were PRND21 is but I fixed it to wear it works fine shifter is fine. 5 misc stains 6. mileage on cluster comes on late most of time other then that just normal wear for a 2001 truck .now mechanically used engine put in less then 2 years ago low mile engine catalytic converters replaced not long ago spark plugs changed last year all ignition coils have been replaced ! recent alternator recent fuel pump assembly transmission has been replaced in truck in the past don't know when serp belt recent interstate battery and much more just cant remember everything full size spare a/c has been serviced not long ago the flaws mechanically 1. left front tire will need to be replaced its wavy 2. it will need front brakes soon 3. check engine light is on for evap very common 4. abs light is on air bag light flashes 5. have no idea if 4x4 works 6. has very slow seep left rear axle 7 under or over certain bumps the suspension creeks That's about it truck was his daily driver uptill now for selling it , for $2500 your getting a good looking truck that runs good that has had a lot done to it the past 2 years retail is $6125 , avg trade in is 2950 clean trade in is 3750. $500 non refundable deposit due with in 24hr full payment due in 7 days , this is not a show truck if you expect a show truck or a new truck go buy new this is a used truck. any questions please email me.

Chevy Silverado frame twist test a marketing victory versus Ford
Thu, 16 Oct 2014The pickup market is so competitive that all three major American makers are constantly trying to find a way to prove their product is the best. The new 2015 Ford F-150 is grabbing headlines at the moment by winning awards and posting segment best numbers. But in a new video, Chevrolet is taking aim squarely at the 2015 F-250 Super Duty in a battle of heavy-duty truck supremacy against the 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD... well, in a single metric anyway.
The big numbers from pickups often come down to payload, towing rating and fuel economy, but for this test, Chevy and Howie Long are challenging the torsional rigidity of the trucks' frames, specifically which one flexes less. Long plays the everyman here having the Chevy engineer explain what's going on in the tests. Unsurprisingly for a video on Chevy's official YouTube page, the 2500HD wins out by a good margin. The company also reports that similar results as shown here have been certified in third-party testing.
Check out the video to see the full test. While this might seem like a marketing win for Chevy, Ford isn't immune to it, either. In 2009, the Blue Oval uploaded a similar video comparing the flex under 225 pounds of weight from the bare frames of the F-150, Chevy Silverado, Dodge Ram (as it was still called at the time) and the Toyota Tundra. The results fell in the Blue Oval's favor, as you can see here.
New Ford Police Interceptor tech protects cops' backsides
Mon, 22 Jul 2013It was only a matter of time before law enforcement agencies would realize the potential of driver-assist technology for use in their Ford Police Interceptors, and, now that they have, those back-up cameras and radar systems won't be used just for parking, but for security, as well.
The surveillance mode system works when the camera or radar detects movement from behind the vehicle, and if it does when it's activated, an alarm will alert the officer inside the car, the driver's side window will roll up and the doors will lock, protecting the officer from an unwanted intrusion. The officer, of course, has the option to turn surveillance mode off, mainly in urban areas where pedestrians would constantly set the alarm off, and it can only be activated when the police car is in park.
Randy Freiburger, Ford's police and ambulance fleet supervisor, came up with the patent-pending idea when researching the needs of police officers and riding along with them, during which time he realized officers would be safer with an extra set of eyes watching the area behind their cars, especially at night or when they're completing paperwork, using the in-car computer or handling a radar gun. "Unfortunately, there are people with bad intentions who sneak up on police officers," he says.
2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid
Thu, 02 May 2013No Prius Killer
As much as we enthusiasts like to rail on the lowly Toyota Prius as the harbinger of death for all we hold dear, there's no denying the machine's absolute and interminable grip on the hybrid hatchback market in the United States. Toyota has so thoroughly sunk its teeth into the segment that you can clearly hear the automaker's incisors clacking against one another with the conclusion of each financial quarter. And there's little wonder why. Buyers can plop down less than $25,000 and have a runabout that can return up to an estimated 51 miles per gallon in the city, leaving every other entry on the market with precious little gristle to gnaw on.
Enter the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid. With its claimed 47 mpg combined, the funky little hatch from Europe already falls behind the 48 mpg city offered by the Prius, but that marginal sacrifice in fuel economy could be a small price to pay for buyers who want a credible alternative to the stalwart Toyota. Unfortunately, like the Fusion Hybrid, the C-Max Hybrid had trouble even approaching its Environmental Protection Agency estimates during our time with the car.
