I BOUGHT THE TRUCK JUNE-17-2006 FROM PAUL MILLER FORD IN LEXINGTON KY. IT HAD 57990 MILES WHEN I BOUGHT IT. IT WAS A CERTIFIED VEHICLE FROM FORD. IT NOW HAS 205446 MILES, REASON FOR HIGH MILEAGE IS I DRIVE 84 MILES A DAY TO WORK. OVERALL THE TRUCK IS IN GOOD CONDITION, THE ROCKER PANELS NEED SOME ATTENTION EITHER FIX OR REPLACE, IT WILL NEED TIRES SHORTLY. I HAVE ALWAYS USED MOTORCRAFT OIL AND FILTER AT EVERY OIL CHANGE, THE MOTOR DOES NOT SMOKE OR USE OIL, THE TRANNY SHIFTS GOOD, AND THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE HAS NEVER GAVE ME ANY PROBLEMS. Ford says 70% of its models to get stop-start by 2017
Sun, 15 Dec 2013Ford is following up on a report we posted a few weeks back that the Blue Oval would be adding stop-start technology to its entire model range. Now, the Dearborn-based automaker has announced that the fuel-saving feature would be available on 70 percent of the company's range by 2017.
Ford claims the technology will improve fuel economy by around 3.5 percent, although its actual effect will vary based on how the owner drives - apparently up to a 10-percent improvement is possible for those who sit in heavy traffic (Los Angelenos, this means you). The latest recipient of the technology is the updated 2014 Ford Fiesta with the company's three-cylinder EcoBoost powerplant.
Part of the reasoning for the new addition has to do with cost. Ford claims the tech is affordable and easy to implement. "Simply put, Auto Start-Stop helps customers use less fuel, which is an important component of Ford's Blueprint for Sustainability," Ford's global powertrain vice president, Bob Fascetti, said.
Shelby GT500 laps N"urburgring in under 7:40?
Wed, 30 Oct 2013A couple of weeks ago we brought you footage and official times of the new Chevy Camaro Z/28 lapping the Nürburgring. With a 7:37.47 lap time, the Z/28 emerged as the fastest muscle car ever to lap the circuit. But what was missing from that picture was how fast the king of all Mustangs, the Shelby GT500, could manage to lap the Nordschleife.
Ford never released any information or footage of the GT500 on the Nürburgring that we were aware of - that is, until the guys at SVTPerformance.com put in a request for Mustang videos. Among the clips they received was never-seen, in-car footage of the Shelby GT500 lapping the circuit. And boy did it hustle.
Although not quite official, the video seems to show the GT500 lapped the venerated German track in a touch under 7:40. That would make it a tick or two faster than the Camaro ZL1 - but what of the Z/28? By Chevy's quoted time, the Z/28 is still faster than the GT500, but SVTPerformance suggests GM may have fudged the numbers a bit and scrubbed half a second or so off their lap time.
