2001 Ford F-150 Super Crew Lariat 4x4. 141,434 Miles. Leather. Sunroof. 4.6 liter, Auto. Bad rust on both rockers and cab corners, which I have added the pictures. Has an exhaust leak that sounds like its coming from the right side manifold. Power steering pump is leaking. Front seal in transmission and rear main engine seal are both leaking. Has a bad coil pack on cylinder #5. Head gasket is seaping, doesnt over heat and not mixing oil in water or water in oil but leaking externally. Shifter cable is stretched and unable to shift to park. A/C does not work. Transmission does not slip but seems a little sluggish. I did just drive this truck from Charleston WV to Morgantown WV with no major issues. (150 Miles) Also has rusty brake and fuel lines. Frame looks good. Brakes are soft and also has a bad Idler and pitman arm. Upper ball joints are worn. I would concider this truck a Mechanic special. Needs a lot of work but still books for like $10,000. So well worth putting the money in. This vehicle is offered for sale by the Good News Mountaineer Garage. We are a non profit funded in part by the WV DHHR. We take in donated vehicles and fix them up and provide them to low income, hard working families. In some cases the vehicles need to much work or are not suitable for a low income family and this truck is a example of one of them. We require a $250 deposit within 48 hours of auction end and balance paid within 7 days. Vehicle not to leave our location until it is paid in full. Truck is in Morgantown WV, 26505 and NOT Charleston WV 25301. Winning bid owns the truck and not a chance to come and look at it. I would encourage any would be bidders to come and look at it before bidding. Thanks for your interest and good luck. Ron.

A closer look at the 2015 Ford F-150
Thu, 16 Jan 2014Despite having to share Ford's Detroit Auto Show stand with the hot new 2015 Mustang, the brand-new F-150 was arguably an even more important debut. Why? Ford moved some 700,000 examples of its F-Series truck in 2012, making it not only the best-selling pickup truck, but the top-selling vehicle in the US, by a long-shot.
The 2015 F-150 raises the bar for pickup trucks in a big way, with big-time use of aluminum. Because of this, roughly 700 pounds have been removed from the truck's overall weight, making it even more efficient than before, while still offering all of the capability that pickup owners expect. And with a host of engines under the hood, including a new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, the 2015 F-150 will surely offer something for everyone.
During the Detroit Auto Show, west coast editor Michael Harley took a closer look at the new F-150, talking to some of the truck's engineers. Have a look at the full video, below.
Here's what the UAW will be angling for in next year's contract negotiations
Mon, Dec 15 2014The United Auto Workers union is about to enter a new round of negotiations with the Detroit Three automakers, and this time, the focus is on the end of the two-tier wage system. Introduced in 2007, the two-tier wage system was enacted to allow General Motors, Ford and Chrysler to categorize its hourly employees under two categories: Tier 1 for veteran employees with full rights and benefits, and Tier 2 for short-term or entry-level employees compensated under a different schedule. The idea was that the system would permit the automakers to invest more in their plants and hire new employees as part of their respective recovery plans without being saddled with all the costs associated with hiring full-time employees. Now that the automakers are (more or less) back on their proverbial feet, however, the UAW wants to see an end to the two-tier system, and will likely make that a center-point of its negotiations next year to replace the current arrangement that is scheduled to end in September 2015. Not all members of the UAW will necessarily be interested in ending the two-tier system, however. According to The Detroit News, some Tier 1 workers may be more interested in negotiating a raise in their hourly rate – something which they haven't received in almost a decade. Tier 2 workers, meanwhile, may be more motivated to keep the tiered system in place, as their arrangement includes provisions for profit-sharing payments that have seen the automakers pay out billions to so-called short-term employees in lump-sum payments. Reconciling the two competing demands from two categories of union members and presenting a united front in negotiations may prove the biggest challenge for the UAW's new president, Dennis Williams. And with the right to strike – something which was suspended during the last round of negotiations in 2011 – the union has a bigger bargaining chip in its pocket.
