1994 svt lightning
Up for sale is a 1994 ford svt lightning. The car has 200k miles on the chassis but almost everything on the truck has been replaced or modified recently. The car has a brand new bottom end ( the car is still sitting at the shop, we have no room in the driveway now that it is done). The outside of the car is flat black and could use paint job, but I have left it the way it is because its the ultimate sleeper. Other than paint the only thing the car needs is some sticky tires. I am going to describe the modifications as best I can and I'm sure I'll forget some:
New forged pistons and rods (entire motor has been gone through and rebuilt)
Trick flow cylinder heads
HIgh lift cam
Powerdyne Supercharger
Gigantic radiator and fans from summer racing
Full MSD ignition
Full Basani Exhaust (headers, off road pipe, catback) with the lopey cam it sounds like a monter
kenne bell boost a pump
42lb/ hr injectors
boost/ oil pressure gauges in a pillar pod
aftermarket head unit
Brand new MAF from Pro m
Brand new conical filter
ECU out of 1992 Mustang to convert to MAF
Brakes done right before it went into the shop
Cervini high rise hood

There are other modifications that the previous owner made such as high stall torque converter, 31 spline axles, and im sure im forgetting others

This truck is an absolute monster and is easily over 500hp. This truck is mechanically perfect. The interior is in great condition with a custom center console for more storage. The outside of the truck has a tiny bit of rust on the wheel wells of the bed and one tiny dent on the back bumper but other then that it in great shape for a truck this old. Anyone who knows SVTs, knows this is becoming increasingly rare and this is one of the baddest modified ones around. Feel free to call with any questions 908.674.0122

Our interview with Jeremy Clarkson and James May, plus SEMA! | Autoblog Podcast #491

Fri, Nov 4 2016

This week, David Gluckman and Mike Austin talk SEMA madness, mis-aligned steering wheels, wireless charging, McLarens (they're sports cars!), and decals. We also have an excerpt from a recent interview with James May and Jeremy Clarkson of The Grand Tour and Top Gear fame. As always, we talk about a variety of cars we've been driving and then respond to some questions from listeners. And as a bonus, there's a trivia question mixed in. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want questionable buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. Oh, and please send trivia questions! You'll get the honor of stumping your fellow listeners, and we'll thank you too. Justin Bell makes a horrible policeman

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

If you're wondering what type of person makes a good police officer, it seems a racecar driver doesn't. Let us rephrase that: Justin Bell, a racecar driver and the host of Motor Trend's World's Fastest Car Show, recently got behind the wheel of a 5.0-liter Ford Mustang police car with Sergeant Daniel Shrubb, co-founder of DRAGG (Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti), and proved that his high-performance-driving skillset is a bit too aggressive for police duty.
While it's easy to get carried away in a Mustang GT, a patrol car driver must maintain some sort of restraint while pursuing a criminal, so as not to come off as a reckless driver to the public. We'll admit, some pursuit techniques are counter-intuitive to performance driving (stay off the gas in a lane-change exercise?), but Bell's judicious use of the handbrake can't be normal procedure.
Watch "The One With The Ford Mustang 5.0 Police Car" (yes, we caught the Friends reference too) below to see some shenanigans in one of Michigan's finest patrol cars.

2015 Ford Focus ST gets sleeker style, improved dynamics

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

The Brits don't really have a major auto show these days. Not in a conventional sense, anyway, with stationary vehicles under floodlights in a closed exposition space. What they do have, you could argue, is much better: the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where the public can view the latest machinery not only under an open sky, but in motion as well, speeding up Lord March's front lawn. And this year, British automakers are rolling in with some very enticing new metal.
In the past few days alone we've confirmed the McLaren 650S GT3 and MSO, Jaguar F-Type Project 7, Range Rover Sport SVR and Ariel Ace will all be revealed for the first time at Goodwood this weekend. Ford isn't, strictly speaking, a British automaker, but for all its history in the UK, it might as well. So it's chosen Goodwood as the site to unveil its refreshed Focus ST.
The upgraded Blue Oval hot hatch still packs a 2.0-liter turbo four with 252 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque driving through a six-speed manual to the front wheels, so we're not expecting much change in measurable performance. But Ford has given the new Focus ST a new front suspension setup and a new electric power-assisted steering rack that combine to promise improved handling.
