More snow coming... make some $$$$$ Selling my 1991 Ford F150 4X4 Aut. E40D Transmission, lariat XLT with just 112,000 miles includes 9' myers plow working perfectly with all the controls installed. I just put a new muffler for the emission test this month. It passed until 2015 no check engine lights on. 2 stoke led white emergency lights inside the windshield with 3 different position switch (not shown in pics), Bed liner. Everything in the truck works perfectly, all the buttons air cond. power windows, power locks, no holes in seats or floor. Body has a couple spots of rust in the typical areas for a 22 year-old truck, frame looks solid, paint looks great. Starts without any problems, the engine runs very smooth. The problem is... Last storm I was cleaning my driveway and I lost transmission fluid. It will not run after that in drive or reverse. I had 2 mechanics take a look and both said that the transmission needs repair or replacement. The problem is that they really don't know what its wrong inside the transmission because they need to take it down. I really don't have the time and the money for that. I noticed that on craigslist a used transmission 4x4 for this truck is about 375.00 obo.http://newlondon.craigslist.org/pts/3578057617.html can be a good and cheaper truck if u can fix it yourself. I have two choices I can sell the truck for the winning bid with the factory wheels and tires that are 235/75R/15 or I can sell it for the winning bid plus $300 xtra with 4 black rims with 31/10.5/15 tires and rims. Just to give you an idea the plow by itself costs around 1500.00 and the black rims and 31 tires around 800.00. Sale as is. No scams serious buyers only. Please don't make me loose my time. Truck is registered and I have clean title in hand. Just bring your tow or trailer..$$$$$$$$$$$$$....... inf. 860-941-7784

2016 Ford Focus RS mule spotted on US soil

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

Okay Ford, this is what we like to see. One of our intrepid spy photographers has captured a vehicle that we weren't even sure would see the light of day - the next Focus RS. While this is pretty clearly a mule based on the current Focus ST, as our spy points out, there are a number of giveaways about this hot hatch's true nature.
Indication number one that all is not right with this Focus is the heavily camo'd front fascia, which has been completely reconfigured for duty on the RS. It boasts significantly larger grilles that are meant to accommodate what is likely the 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder that's destined for the 2015 Ford Mustang. Considering that, then, we can expect around 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque from the hottest of Foci, although it's entirely possible that the production model could climb even higher, to around 330 hp.
The front fascia tweaks are complemented in the back by a modified rear bumper, which fails at hiding a pair of exhaust tips quite unlike the standard Focus ST's center-exit exhaust. Other obvious changes include the wheel/tire/brake package on this particular car. Larger 19-inch wheels are shod in super-sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in 235/35/19 while the brakes feature what we think are four-piston calipers, possibly from Brembo, up front.

Brits recreate iconic Bullitt chase scene

Tue, 13 May 2014

Recreating the famous chase scene from Bullitt has become almost an art form in its own right. We've seen it done in a music video, with scale models and even in commercials. There are few films that are as defined by a single scene as the 1968 classic. Even if you don't know a single beat of the plot, the Highland Green Ford Mustang racing a Dodge Charger through the hilly streets of San Francisco is famous. It's so well known that the Silverstone Classic has created a homage to promote its celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang at this year's event in July.
Filmed around the famous UK circuit, the short film generally gets the key points of the scene right. It even has a green Volkswagen Beetle that keeps reappearing, as in the movie. Unfortunately, its Steve McQueen stand-in looks a little too old for the role. While the video shortens the chase considerably, it's still great to see these '60s behemoths leaning and sliding around the track. Scroll down for a touch of nostalgia thanks to one of the greatest scenes ever in cinema - we've got both the recreation and the original chase seen from the movie waiting for you.

Ford worker files for UAW dues refund, stirs right-to-work debate

Sun, 24 Aug 2014

Let's start with some history: Ford's Dearborn truck plant, part of the company's massive River Rouge complex, was the center of a strike in 1941 that led to Ford signing the first "closed shop" agreement in the industry. The agreement obliged every worker at the plant to be a dues-paying member of the United Auto Workers. In December 2012, however, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder signed legislation making Michigan a right-to-work state, which outlawed closed shops. The new law gave workers the right to opt out of union membership and stop paying dues even if they were still covered by union activities like collective bargaining. For employees at the Dearborn plant, the right-to-work clauses take effect at the end of their current contract in 2015.
As a tool-and-die maker at Ford's Dearborn plant for 16 years, Todd Lemire pays dues to the UAW - about two hours' salary per month. However, he's been unhappy with the UAW's support of the Democratic party, and not wanting to wait until next year to be out of the UAW entirely he invoked his Beck Rights, which state that a non-member of a union does not have to pay dues to support non-core activities, such as political spending. But Lemire wasn't happy that Ford still subtracted the total amount of dues, with the UAW reimbursing the difference, so he filed suit with the National Labor Relations Board, feeling that the workaround violates his rights.
Lemire's case is just a week old, so it could be a while before a resolution. Yet, as September 15, 2015 draws near and the right-to-work laws take full effect for Michigan workers - and others wonder whether it could help revitalize the state's manufacturing base - a case like this adds more fuel to the discussion.
