I am a private owner and collector of unique and hard to find special interest and survivor type vehicles and am offering this unrestored, survivor quality,  Ford 1990 F150 XLT Lariat regular cab long bed truck. I purchased the truck from the original owner who kept detailed records and receipts, which are included, of all the routine maintenance as he was meticulous about preserving the trucks excellent condition. This was not a daily driver truck but rather a pleasure driven vehicle and always stored in the garage.  The truck has the factory original paint which shines and appears like the day it rolled off the line. The body panels are laser straight and the fit is remarkable as the truck has never been in any accidents. There are no rust issues on the bottom of the doors, cab corners, tailgate, fenders, bed etc...  There are no scraps or dents and you would have to look hard to find a 1" flaw on the right edge of the hood due to moisture collecting but not distracting.  The Ford brand bedliner and tonneau cover from by Downey Products were both installed when the truck was new and there is no rust. This was not used as work truck to haul items so the bed and tailgate are in excellent condition with no issues. This is a true survivor truck and definitely worthy of taking to shows and cruise events if you wanted. Really gets a lot of looks as the car guys love the originality and condition of the truck.

The truck was ordered with the following  long list of factory options per the original dealer order receipt :

Special value package 507 including, XLT Lariat trim, 5.0 Liter EFI, 4 speed automatic trans, bright stainless low mount swing away mirrors, headliner insulation package , light/ convenience group, map lights, visor mirrors,  speed control, A/C, Leather wrapped steering wheel( still in fantastic shape) , Tilt wheel, Power windows, Power door locks, deluxe argent styled steel wheels, sliding rear window, tachometer, 6250 lb GVW pkg, engine block heater, limited slip rear axle with 3.55 gears, Dual gas tanks, Trailer towing package, chrome rear step bumper, and Class 3 towing receiver ( was never used for towing but added in case it was ever needed)

Some additional items added: window tint, which is very moderate and professionally installed, K&N air filter, Ford brand bedliner which looks virtually unused, tonneau cover in excellent condition with no rips, tears or noticeable flaws including all the snaps and bows, JBL stereo with CD and Sony speaker boxes behind the seat and not mounted. Dash and door panels are not cut, and the sound is excellent.

The Interior is also in fantastic shape and showing no wear on any of the surfaces or panels. The seats, door panels (including the armrest and carpeted lower section which show no wear) , dash, instrument cluster, headliner and carpet have no cracks, stains, flaws or similar issues at all. Absolutely nothing is needed inside. Super clean, no pets no smoking no food stains etc.  All the gages, electrical systems, dual tanks... works well. The A/C blows ice cold, the cruise works fine, heater, wipers, lights, power windows/ locks etc... all work as they should.

The mechanical condition is also excellent throughout with no known issues. The truck starts up easily when cold, with no funny noises or smoking. The engine has no leaks and runs strong and stays cool on hot days.  The truck drives down the road very straight and tight with no rattles and good window seals. The tires have 90% tread left and are Kelly brand P235/ 75/ 15 size. The front brakes were recently serviced with brand new NAPA rotors and premium brake pads. I have  the original owners maintenance log book of every single oil change with the mileage noted, and any routine/ preventative service which the owner performed. He was a retired Ford engineer and kept excellent records on the truck.

Additional information: All the glass is in excellent condition, the chrome bumpers are very good with great shine and no dents or rust with some slight  wear showing when looking close. The stainless wheel opening moldings have no dents , the side trim moldings and black bumper plastic trim is also in very nice condition. The tailgate large stainless trim panel has no dings or scraps and looks incredible nice still. Original Spare tire is mounted underneath. I have the owners manual, dealer brochure, part receipts, owners manuals for the stereo, tonneau, bedliner, hitch receiver, etc... The original wheels, trim rings and center caps are all in very good to excellent shape. The front grille is crack free and still looks excellent with great chrome shine. The headlights are clear  with no chips and not cloudy. All the exterior lights work well. Overall, this is an exceptionally nice original Ford truck and very hard to find in this condition and with all the options plus the low documented mileage. Ready to drive anywhere and enjoy all the compliments you will get.

2016 Ford F-150 gets new Limited model

Tue, Jul 21 2015

The average price paid for a full-size pickup this year is $42,429. Ram is right at that mark, with an average price of $42,256, the Chevrolet Silverado is below it, at $38,384, and the Ford F-150 is above, at $46,573. That average transaction price is thirty percent higher than it was six years ago, and that F-150 price is eight percent higher than one year ago. We can thank that escalation for the arrival of the new F-150 Limited, a truck that Ford says responds to the "growing needs of discerning truck customers interested in exclusivity, capability and craftsmanship." Reuters went further, saying customers want "trucks that could substitute for a higher end German sedan." Billed as "the most advanced, luxurious F-150 ever," everything has been thrown at the standard features list. Buyers will get the luxury modifiers we expect from Europeans, like Mojave leather throughout, climate-controlled, massaging front seats, heated rear seats, and fiddleback eucalyptus wood. Driver assistance systems are legion, including a 360-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control, active park assist, a remote tailgate release, and SYNC3. Ford's new Pro Trailer Backup Assist will be an option. As if that won't be enough to tell it from the less luxurious models, the Limited sits on unique 22-inch wheels, the word "Limited" is written on the hood, the VIN is laser engraved in a plaque in the armrest, and the grille, tailgate, and door handles get a satin chrome finish among other changes. Only four exterior colors make the palette: Shadow Black, Magnetic, Blue Jeans and White Platinum Metallic tri-coat. The sole engine offered is the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 365 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. We've been talking about luxury trucks for years now, and Ford's competition is in the game, too - Chevy has its Silverado High Country, Ram its Laramie Limited. This new F-150 Limited, however, raises all bets. It will go on sale this winter at an as-yet-unknown price, but since the current top-of-the-line Platinum starts at $51,585, we have a feeling that getting a Limited out the door under $60K will be near impossible. Admire the new seduction in the images above, the press release below has more.

2015 Ford Edge Sport [w/video]

Thu, Apr 23 2015

The Edge is easy to overlook, especially in Ford's prolific stable of sport utility vehicles. But thanks to new engines, upscale sheet metal and fresh technologies, the Edge has renewed swagger for 2015. Outfitted in the Sport trim, which included the feisty 315-horsepower EcoBoost V6, a stiffer suspension, and unique fascias, my Edge was loaded, and it was priced accordingly. With options, including all-wheel drive, it cost $46,180, which is pretty lofty for a Ford Edge. But, you get a lot of stuff here – features like leather-accented seats, a lane-departure warning system, and active park assist – that make your life more comfortable and safer. It's been a while since I've driven an Edge. And unless you own one, it's probably been a while since you've even thought about an Edge. Now there's good reason to take another look. Driving Notes I really liked the interior. It was simple, clean, and done up in black. It served as a fitting backdrop for the colorful gauges and the Sync with MyFord Touch infotainment system. The interior designers added silver plastic trim and contrasting white stitching on the center console and door inserts to break up the darkness. Leather was used for the steering wheel wrap, door inserts, and console cover, and it conveyed a premium feel. The leather-trimmed seats with suede inserts were comfortable. They looked elegant and felt pleasing. The heating and cooling features were useful for springtime driving and its varied temperatures. The vista sunroof was spectacular. It let in plenty of sunlight and opened long and wide like a retractable stadium roof. Even closed, it still offered a panoramic view of the sky for my passengers, especially those in the second row. Another note on the interior: I had an excellent driving position and an elevated view of the road. When rain began to fall – which has a way of frazzling motorists – I turned up Cat Stevens and motored along blithely. My second-row passengers were also comfy. One remarked on the ample leg- and headroom, and everyone liked the ambient lighting. The cargo area, which offered 39.2 cubic feet of space behind the second row (7 cubic feet more than the previous version), was more than capable for a weekend grocery run. I'll admit, I'm a Luddite when it comes to infotainment systems, and Sync with MyFord Touch has a mixed reputation. Historically, it's been confusing and hasn't always worked as advertised.

UAW Chief Shawn Fain disrupts Detroit's labor tradition

Fri, Sep 15 2023

He's known to quote the Bible and Nation of Islam civil rights leader Malcolm X. He's a social media fanatic who keeps the pay stubs of his union member grandfather in his wallet. And now, Shawn Fain is representing nearly 150,000 auto workers in one of the biggest labor strikes in decades. In taking action against all three Detroit carmakers, Fain, the head of the United Auto Workers, has remade the strategy of the union he leads, choosing a bolder, much riskier path than his predecessors after he won office by a narrow margin in a first-ever direct election earlier this year. The strike started as the clock hit midnight on Friday, and followed Fain's decision to open negotiations with Ford Motor, General Motors and Stellantis simultaneously and eschew public niceties involving choreographed handshakes that famously kicked off previous negotiating efforts. The strategy is not without risk. A weeks-long strike would hit workers who live paycheck to paycheck, while the Detroit Three automakers have billions in cash to withstand the walkout. Fain, 54, has made creative use of social media, appearances on network and cable news programs and alliances with high-profile progressive politicians such as U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, to reframe the UAW's contract bargaining as a battle to re-set the balance of power between workers and global corporations. He has rebutted automakers' concerns about labor costs by pointing out that they have poured billions into share buybacks to benefit investors. "If they’ve got money for Wall Street they sure as hell have money for the workers making the product," he said. “We fight for the good of the entire working class and the poor." In lengthy social media talks to UAW members, Fain alternates quoting Bible verses with the use of charts and graphs to dissect wage and benefit offers from the automakers - details his predecessors kept behind closed doors during bargaining crunch time. Fain, in his unorthodox approach, ran what amounted to a public auction among the companies to push each one to top the other to avoid a costly walkout. Prior UAW presidents picked just one automaker to set a pattern for the other two. Over and over, Fain has told UAW members at the Detroit Three that they can reverse 20 years of wage and retiree benefit concessions, stop further plant closures and end a seniority-based, tiered compensation system that pays new hires as much as 44% less than veteran workers.
