1983 Ford F-150 4x4 Low Miles, Only 74k! on 2040-cars
Alachua, Florida, United States
If your looking for a truck with great potential for a low price then you have found it. With minimal repairs this truck will serve well. The breaks are not 100% and need attention which appears to be booster, the carburator is not 100% and needs attention. Truck starts right up and runs fine but I am not satisfied with the performance of the carb. The tires have over 90% tread but are older and may need replace for road useage but would be fine if used for same yard use. Everything works except the heater blower as this does not have ac installed. The rear tailights are installed but not wired yet. the harness is in truck and included just never needed them. I applied a spray on liner in bed under the ford factory bedliner for added protection from the elements and I started to add paint to exterior of bed on exposed areas to avoid rust formation as well. I put original tailgate but needs retro to latch and I have the F and O that fell off. Tailgate that came with the bed is included in sale as well. I preferred this one as it is in better shape. The bed is dented and another bed could be put on easily if wanted to make her pretty. Pretty is not what I wanted and I guess its obvious. I am practically givin her away cause I cant give her the attention she deserves. I did not wash or clean her for photo op she is raw. Just an old Ford 4x4 with potential for cheap. I did a bunch of stuff over the years to her such as fan clutch, thermostat, temp sender, oil sender, oil pump, plugs, wires, filters, fuel sender and basic maintainance. Included is the rear brake drums new and tranny kit new with miscellaneous parts I have for this truck. I can answer questions if interested 352-258-8712 Dave. |

How Ford made its 2015 Ford Mustang safer for toupee wearers [w/video]
Fri, 28 Feb 2014Ford is ready to tell the story of its 2015 Mustang Convertible, the can't-miss bits being the easier, quicker and quieter roof operation, a more robust roof build for a coupe-like cabin noise, more trunk space, better visibility and reduced in-cabin buffeting. The top release system has been completely redesigned with a single, center-mounted latch on the windshield frame instead of the dual latches of before. The driver can now release the roof without having to lean over into the passenger space, after which the top goes down fully automatically with the press of a button. Ford doesn't say how long it takes to stow, but it's apparently done in half as much time as before, so figure around 8 seconds.
The roof uses a five-bow structure, with the fabric outer and full inner headliner sandwiching ten millimeters of insulation. Detailing work on the top has eliminated "unsightly folds" in the corners when the roof is up and made it more compact when down; its Z-fold assembly is 6.7 inches lower than before at its highest point when put down. Ford says the new electric drive internals make less noise when in operation, and the fully-finished droptop look is achieved with snap-in caps that flank the rear seating and stow in the trunk when not in use (the outgoing Mustang's top was higher and the front when folded and always looked like it was catching air and creating drag).
The compact roof and newly independent rear suspension setup in back means liberated trunk space, 11.4 cubic feet ready to swallow golf bags and tourist swag. You can read a lot more about it in the press release below, check it out in the short video of running footage and learn about the aerodynamic improvements made to the entire Mustang lineup that decrease drag and increase fuel economy.
Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th
Tue, 15 Apr 2014It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
1964 Ford GT40 prototype sells for $7M
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Seven-figure Ferraris are not horribly rare. Heck, an eight-figure Ferrari isn't a rare occurrence. Between modern masterpieces like the Enzo and more classic offerings, cracking the million-dollar mark isn't a particularly tall order for the cars from Maranello. For a Ford, though, it's a big deal.
Now, this is not just some rare Mustang. This is a GT40, the car that Henry Ford II commissioned to whip Enzo Ferrari around a track in France. As far as the Le Mans-winning racers go, they don't get much rarer than this one. Sold at the Mecum Auctions in Houston, this is one of the prototypes, meaning it's one of the very first GT40s ever built. That makes its $7 million winning a bid, a record for on-air coverage of the auction, a pretty darn impressive figure.
You can watch the auction below, but first, take a look back at our original story on this rare Blue Oval.
