Great shape 1978 Ford F150 Ranger XLT 1/2 ton pickup with 8 foot styleside bed. Good little work truck for the farm, contracting or everyday transportation. Truck is currently state (PA) inspected until 10/13. PA title in hand. Runs, drives and stops great. Driven weekly. Does have some minor issues for a 32 year old truck. Power steering pump makes some noise but functions properly. Transmission front pump also makes noise but it too functions the way it should. Shifts good, goes into all gears including reverse. Valve seals leak and truck smokes, especially when first started. Does not effect the power or drivability. Would not hesitate to drive it 200 mile+. Body is in very good condition. Cab corners, rockers, floors and cab mounts are solid. Bed floor and tail gate also solid. There is some rust around both rear wheel well openings and the right side has a small crease with one piece of trim missing. The bumpers, chrome trim and grille are in excellent condition. Interior is also in excellent condition. Seat and door panels look great (no rips, tears or damage), along with the headliner and steering wheel. The dash pad does have a crack in the center. Tires are like new. This truck is equipped with a class three towing hitch with electric brake and rare factory tilt column. Everything works in this truck. Title shows odometer is exempt and reads 60,765. The condition of this 32 year truck says it could be the actual mileage. Your call. Ford decides C-Max shoppers not interested in fuel economy
Sat, Oct 25 2014If you say a car – the Ford C-Max Hybrid, for example – is "fun to drive," can anyone really come up with some empirical evidence against your claim? What about calling it "versatile"? We wonder if Ford has been thinking along these lines when it talks about the green little hatch. Ford is refocusing its sales strategy for the C-Max Hybrid after the model took a sales hit on both sides of the Atlantic recently, Automotive News reports. That sales dropoff may stem from the fact that Ford has had to revise its fuel-economy figures downward for the C-Max twice since last year, most recently in June. That made the company's once-proud fuel-economy comparisons with the Toyota Prius kind of pointless. Ford is going a different route, calling the model versatile (which, to be fair it was also doing a year ago), technologically advanced and fun to drive. Since the C-Max has about 50 more horsepower than the Prius, that last part may be true. Ford representatives didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from AutoblogGreen about the mpg-mention-free advertising direction, but we will update this post if we hear back. Sales of the C-Max Hybrid have suffered in the US. Through September, Ford sold 15,245 C-Max Hybrids, down 36 percent from last year. We shall see if a new focus away from the car's lowered mpg numbers helps. At least Ford can be pleased with sales of the C-Max Energi Plug-in Hybrid, which are up 51 percent compared to 2013.
Leno drives Henry Ford II's all-original '52 Ferrari 212 Barchetta
Tue, 17 Jun 2014The story of the relationship between Henry Ford II and Enzo Ferrari is absolutely fascinating. The two great men of the auto industry had what appeared to be a burgeoning friendship until Ferrari pulled out of a deal to sell his company to Ford in the '60s. The latest car featured in Jay Leno's Garage is a 1952 Ferrari 212 Barchetta that tells the very beginnings of that story.
This Prancing Horse was a gift to Ford from Enzo when the two companies were first thinking about merging, according to the curator of the Petersen Automotive Museum. Ferrari really wanted to show off its best so instead of the 212's normal V12, this car was fitted with the larger 2.7-liter unit from a Ferrari 225. The car has been almost unaltered since then. It still wears its original paint, and it's tires date back to 1954.
The great thing about the Petersen is that unlike a lot of auto museums, the people there actually drive the cars and keep them in working order. Once on the road with Leno behind the wheel, this Ferrari really sings. Unfortunately, he can't open it up too much because the 60-year-old tires really hold things back. FL man fatally shot after urging driver not to do donuts in a Mustang
Tue, 18 Nov 2014Bradley Holt (pictured), the older half-brother of University of South Florida freshman quarterback Quinton Flowers, was killed in a random act of violence last week.
The 24-year-old Holt was throwing a football around with local kids in Allapattah, a neighborhood in Miami, when a yellow Mustang showed up and started doing donuts in the street. Holt, worried about kids playing in front his apartment complex, walked over to the driver and asked him why he was "driving so crazy with so many kids out here?"
The driver left. Holt's sister said the driver came back "about 15 to 20 minutes later" and fired two shots at Holt. One of them hit Holt in the back of the head, killing him.
