Arlington, Texas, United States
2008 FORD F150 SUPERCREW LARIAT 4X4 Miles: 137683 VIN: 1FTPW14V98FB11549 BLACK BEAUTY!! We have just received this '08 Ford F150 four wheel drive into our inventory that is in remarkable condition. The previous nonsmoking owner averaged about 23K miles a year over the past 6 years, but they kept this black beauty looking great inside and out. The 5.4L Triton V8 engine runs amazing, and will absolutely get up and go. I had the opportunity to drive this Crew Cab, and the steering is tight as this Lariat drives straight down the road with no pulling, vibrating, or hesitating. The handling is good, and the ride is smooth and comfortable. The Pirelli 275/55/20 tires are in good shape, and ready to tackle any rough terrain that shows up. The sleek black exterior finish still has a beautiful shine, and the original body panels are free from any dents, dings, or signs of rust. There are no signs of any previous paint or body repairs whatsoever to this vehicle. A few exterior highlights include front and rear chrome bumpers, 5-foot bed, sprayed on bedliner, privacy glass, combination entry, fog lights, and 20 inch alloy wheels. Entering the cab of this Ford is a breeze with the 4-fullsize doors. At least 5 passengers can ride very comfortably in this Truck, and the tan leather upholstery is free from any tears, burns, or visible stains. Along with one touch 4x4, some of the interior extras include wood and brushed aluminum accents, additional power outlets, steering wheel controls, digital display info center, front and rear cup holders, power sliding rear glass, homelink, Satellite radio, MP3, 6-disc CD, and power sunroof. If you are looking for a Truck that looks great and is definitely affordably priced, then this F150 Super Crew may be perfect for you. Place your bid today, because at this price, this Lariat will not last for long.

AMC Trans Am Javelin SST, an ultra-rare underdog, is up for auction
Sat, Sep 9 2023Among the rarest of the American muscle cars that went racing in the early Seventies — cars including the Camaro Z/28 and the Boss 302 Mustang — the 1970 AMC Trans Am Javelin SST may be the most hard to find, and among the most valuable. Only 100 units of this unique Javelin were produced, and one of them is up for auction at the Mecum event in Dallas on September 20. The Trans Am Javelin was fashioned in a patriotic livery of tricolor paint — red, white and blue — and arrived after the American Motors Corporation had decided in 1968 to compete in the Trans Am racing series against Ford and General Motors. The company's chief driver, Mark Donohue, would dominate the 1971 season, taking seven wins in his Javelin AMX and that yearÂ’s SCCA Trans-Am Championship. AMC took the trophy with 82 points, well ahead of Ford's 61, Chevrolet's 17 and Pontiac's paltry 7. The example listed for auction came equipped with a 390-cubic-inch V-8 engine with 325 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 420 pound-feet of torque, power steering and brakes, dual exhaust, BorgWarner four-speed manual transmission and Hurst competition shifter. Its “ram induction system” sealed a chamber around the air filter so that cool air from the functional hood scoop would be funneled into the intake. This JavÂ’s factory price was $3,995 — a mere $32,000 or so in today's money, though it was expensive by the standards of the time. The 100 Trans Ams were among 19,714 Javelin units built in 1970, so they started out rare, and today the surviving examples are highly collectible, if and when they come up for sale. No bid estimate is available yet. Related Video: Motorsports Chevrolet Ford Pontiac Auctions Automotive History Racing Vehicles Classics
Reborn Ford Escort could make its way to Europe
Fri, 26 Apr 2013The Ford Escort concept just unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show was created with the Chinese market in mind, but it's got people talking all over the world. Not purely fancy, the point of the Escort concept was to give Chinese buyers a preview of what they could expect to see in a Ford showroom in the near future. If Ford wasn't seriously considering the new Escort for other countries, a report in Auto Express indicates that the concept's reception has changed all that.
No less than the incoming chairman of Ford UK said "it could work in other places," bolstering the comments of "a senior Ford insider" who said the question of bringing the car to Europe to slot in underneath the Focus had been raised. That's a long way from anything of the kind happening, which would require Ford to figure out how to sell it for the right price and not torpedo the company reputation among Euro buyers. In any case, we'd be as intrigued as anyone if an Escort resurrection created the next 'who knew?' market segment of few-frills transportation offered by non-Asian carmakers.
Report: GM struggling to market turbo technology
Tue, 20 Apr 2010In the automotive realm, marketing can sometimes prove just as important as the actual product. Take, for instance, Ford's well regarded EcoBoost technology, which couples turbocharging with direct injection to produce more horsepower and reduce fuel consumption. Would it surprise you to hear that General Motors has had similar technology on the market for over three years?
It's true. GM's first turbocharged, direct injected powerplants hit the market for the 2007 model. The 2.0-liter Ecotec mills put down an impressive 260 horsepower and a matching 260 pound-feet of torque, and they were lauded by the press in the engine bays of the Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, Chevrolet Cobalt SS and Chevrolet HHR SS. But few people outside a core group of enthusiasts actually remember this fact.
Says Uwe Grebe, executive director of GM's global advanced engineering, "We didn't have a badge and say, 'This is the most important thing we will put on all our brochures.'" Ford, however, did just that, and it's EcoBoost engines are right at the tips of all our tongues when we discuss today's most advanced powerplants. So, how does The General fix its mistake?
