White 1972 Ford F-100 Sport Custom Pickup 5.0l 302c.i. V8 3-speed Automatic on 2040-cars
Clarksville, Tennessee, United States
|
This is a very straight, very sturdy, 1972 Ford F-100 Sport Custom pickup. The engine is from a 1991 5.0 Mustang but is carbureted. The carburetor is a Quick Fuel 750 on an Edelbrock Performer intake with matching Edelbrock valve covers. It has a 3-speed automatic transmission with column shifter. A lot of work has been put into making this truck run very solid. Lots of new electrical work including a conversion to a GM 1-wire alternator for reliability. New starter, spark plugs, battery, cables, etc. Completely new fuel system including a brand new tank, electronic fuel pump, filters, and high-quality lines. The baby moon wheels are nearly flawless, and the tires are in great shape. The bed has been re-coated with bedliner to protect it from the elements. Needs some minor work such as a new speedometer cable to fix the speedometer, and to have the Ohms lowered on the fuel sending unit to accurately read fuel level (the current one is made for newer vehicles and gives a bad reading so it is kept unplugged). Even though the body is extremely straight with no Bondo ever found, solid floor pans, and a decent paint job, she's no show truck but she will certainly turn heads as a very dependable daily driver. It has been driven nearly every day for the past two years as a short commuter vehicle and as it sits will have no issues what-so-ever as a turnkey pickup ready to drive. This is one of the nicest pickups of this era on the road in the Fort Campbell/Clarksville, TN area and really stands out. Everyone who has seen it is amazed at the great condition it's in for a vehicle that's meant to be driven and not sit in a showroom. Odometer reads 23102, but it has most likely rolled over at least once. Additional pictures can be provided upon request.

New upscale Ford Taurus revealed in Shanghai
Sun, Apr 19 2015As much as the Ford Taurus may have going for it, we wouldn't classify it as a luxury sedan as much as a mass-market one. The story is different in China, however, where Ford has introduced an altogether more upscale version of the Taurus. Shown this weekend at the Shanghai Motor Show, the Chinese-market Taurus is longer and more luxurious than the sedan we know on these shores. For starters, its wheelbase has been stretched from 113 inches to 116. That means more legroom for the rear seat; useful in a market where the vehicle's owner is often chauffeured. Those rear seats can power-recline as well, with adjustable lumbar support and massage function. A fold-down armrest holds with controls for the seats, air-con and audio system. And panoramic sunroof tops the whole affair. That commodious cabin is wrapped in revised sheet metal that's designed to look decidedly more upscale as well. Power is provided by a 2.7-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 of unspecified output but which produces 315 horsepower in the Ford Edge, 325 in the F-150 and 335 in the Lincoln MKX. This version of the Taurus is earmarked specifically for the Chinese market for the time being, and set to be produced locally at the Changan Ford plant in Hangzhou. Scope out the images in the slideshow above and the details in the press release below for a closer look at Ford's new Chinese flagship. Fewest vehicles ever found eligible for Most American survey
Mon, 30 Jun 2014Once again, the most American car on the market is from an American brand. The Ford F-150 retained its number one spot in Cars.com's annual survey of the most American vehicles, trumping the Toyota Camry, which remains at number two.
Ford taking the top spot is small consolation, though, as the Detroit Three aren't too well represented here. General Motors scored a win at number seven, with the Chevrolet Corvette, while Chrysler squeaked in at number ten, with the Dodge Viper. Outside of those three vehicles, Toyota and Honda dominate the top ten.
What's most remarkable, though, is that there were so few cars available for this year's list.
Man chases down truck thief and steams it all on Facebook
Thu, Oct 13 2016A Washington man chased down a truck stolen from his family's dealership last Saturday and livestreamed the event on Facebook. According to KOMO, a 2005 Ford F-250 was stolen from Sunrise Auto Sales in Eatonville, Washington on the morning of October 8. Aaron Babcock, who co-owns the small dealership with his father David, told reporters that after reviewing surveillance footage, he later spotted the truck while riding his motorcycle on Webster Road East. "I watched my cameras and found the video of a man lurking around and ending up taking off with my truck," Babcock told KOMO. "Cops came and made a case. Three hours later I was on my motorcycle in Graham, and they drove by me oncoming. It still had dealer stickers on it. It said diesel on the window and it had our dealer plate on it. It stuck out like a sore thumb. It was really easy to see." Once he spotted the stolen Super Duty, he wheeled his bike around and gave chase. He attempted to call 911, but was unsure if the dispatcher heard him due to noise from the wind and the bike's engine. So he fired up Facebook live and started streaming his chase, giving running commentary and updating his location as he chased the slow-moving truck. "I wasn't going to let him get away. I was going to try follow him down. I had no idea what to do," Babcock said. "Nobody could hear me on the phone so I just figured the first thing to do is pull up Facebook live." Babcock's Facebook friends pitched in by calling 911 to report the chase and even jumping in their own cars to follow the truck. At one point, he pulled alongside the truck and recognized both men in the cab. The driver was the man seen lurking around the dealer lot in the surveillance video, and the passenger was an old friend of Babcock's. "I know who you are!" he shouted at them, but the hunkered down and kept driving. Eventually, Babcock lost cell phone signal and the livestream ended. Eatonville police, who by this point were well aware of the incident, caught up with the truck in the 8400 block of 356th Street South in Eatonville. The driver was arrested and the passenger was questioned and released. Both denied stealing the vehicle or knowing it was stolen. Two sets of keys from Sunrise Auto Sales and a stolen credit card were also recovered from the truck. Related Video
