Guys I just want to be clear, the complete truck pictured is not my truck for sale here. I am modeling my build after it. Google Tangerine F100. Go to pictures and this beauty will show up. The rest of the pictures are the truck up for auction, as a completed unit which I am aiming at 30 days.
This exciting listing is for my 1967 Bumpside  F100 Short Box Ranger. I am building this truck currently and find myself cresting the options stage. This truck is the very first year of the Bumpside pickups. Back in 1967 the short wheel base 2wd pickup was not a popular item. What rancher would want that. But this truck sexy in its stance caught attention and the following years numbers were ramped up.
In 1967 ford built less than 3,000 of these trucks.
My truck is being modeled after a tangerine F100 easily found thru google search. I started this project as a new career hopefully. I am very dedicated to my work and will quarantee a quality to show finish.
I have nearly completed the body rework. Then the fun part... Power! But how much? Should I build a daily driver or should I build a Drag Truck. Should I hack original truck suspension for a very well engineered rack and pinion disk brake front end? Do I pull the original 9" and replace it with 8.8 disk posi trac unit. I could install a computer on the truck and put in antilock brakes and traction control.
I currently have a 347 stroker motor I am getting ready to build. This 12.5 to 1 compression motor has been packaged to produce 450 to 500 ponies on good pump fuel. Scat Stroker Crankshaft, H beam Racing Rods also from Scat, Icoa forged 12:5 to 1 dome pistons .030 os. pro sport Dampner, Mellinger High Volume oil pump. Air Flow Research aluminum 185cc heads, Edelbrock RPM air gap satin polished intake. Total seal gap and tension rings, Ford Motorsports High Performance full roller timing set.
I need to pick a cam, decide on stall to Match the motor power bands if you will. I have to decide on transmission rebuild type. This truck is going to get a locker for the 9" if it stays. What about gear selection? I intend to put exhaust side dumps as pictured with rear full feature exhaust.
The problem is I'm not building this for me. I'm building it for you. And the only way I can give you what you want is for you to tell me what you want. If I build it my way well then I suppose I cut out a lot of potential buyers.
My way... It gets the 347 Stroker, it gets a shift kit and 2500 to 3000 rpm stall. It gets the Detroit locker with 4.56 gears. Add in some traction bars and stuff some 10" wide slicks in the unmodified wheel wheels. And grab a roll of toilet paper for your passengers. My build isn't highway friendly, but no one can beat this truck to the next stop light with this setup.
The truck weighs in right at 3,000 pounds. 500 HP to this weight ratio is pretty intense. I think I could get it to jerk the front tires and carry them for a real good time.
You might prefer a truck you can cruise to New York in. You might want this build set up with a fuel injection motor and highway gears and limited slip rear end. Back to taking apart a classic, put a 8.8 disk brake rear with either a crown Victoria rack and pitman front, or there are many aftermarket rack and pinion systems. Fatman builds a couple different systems. Do you desire air ride or just a sweet driving truck. These options are available but not for the price here. Once again, maybe you don't want to take this asphalt pounder apart. We can still get disk setup for stopping power. Just a side thought on the front end. That design is still being used in way more modern vehicles. A brake upgrade might be all you desire.
My build brings a price tag around 42,000. Let's put a fresh 302 in with same set of heads. Get the compression down and have a very aggressive very reliable small block. I'd put her about 350 horse and price tag on the lower side close to 35. My investments and time will set the baseline in the mid 30's. But we can spend more.
I started this build on April 28. Frame has been completely sand blasted and prime with Y2K epoxy primer and then it got Duponts brilliant silver and clear coat. The underside of the bed and cab are painted with Inferno Orange Pearl from restoration shop. It is a urethane enamel with top coat. Very hard paint when setup, I know because I've had to sand some back. This is the paint for resistance to UV and harsh road chemicals. The white is the factory original white from PPG. It hits the  orange real nice actually.
Cab painted top to bottom and waits it's buff and polish. 1,000 dollars in parts will be showing up in a couple days for cab assembly. New door seals, window runs, carpet, firewall pad, body plugs ect. Look at the truck on google. It has a F600 dash cluster. Otherwise I'm chasing it down. I have actually got to finish blasting those chrome pieces next and get them off to chrome. What you want Carbon Fiber... Ok give me some more cash, I'm not scarred!
The inner fenders are painted INF Orange Pearl on top and  black gloss from Ppg underneath. The radiator support is orange ready to assemble. I need to make final decisions on seat material and design. Mine gets factory vinyl with velour. You might prefer black leather with some custom orange stripping and stitching. Do you want your windows tinted?
Let's talk about what you want. It will make the truck much more enjoyable for you. I can do remote locks, heated seats, instead of bench lets put in buckets with a console and floor shift.
Contact me, let's discuss your wants and set a deadline for 30 days.
Really look at additional pictures of door jambs and roof to side cab. These trucks have huge narly seams where panels were joined. I thought it would be a good idea to smooth these areas. I was right but the time involved was a real buzz kill. I have yet to see a truck in the last 3 months with this done.
Also a cool option I want to mention. I have the 300 big block straight six that drove this truck away from the factory. It also drove the truck into my garage 3 months ago. On a resto I could rebuild it. Hey this motor was built into the late 90's for sure. It was is very reliable like a 302. It put out more torque than most small blocks. I seriously thought it would be cool to set up a supercharger off of a mid 90's Buick. Sleeper Six  truck... Or pissed off Bee. Look up supercharged 300 on you tube. Kid puts one in a maverick... Cool!
All rust which was not much was media blasted head to toe. y2k primer is such a superior primer to the 60's. This truck should end up in your grand kids lap. I have so far probably 1000 pictures of every stage of work on the body and frame. I am working the aluminum grill and mouldings on the side in the evenings. I have all the rain drip and window mouldings ready. This truck is going to start getting attitude in the next week or two. Is it gonna be yours. I have an electronics package designed that I won't reveal here. But if you got more cash I can make this truck sick thru a touch screen console. Think "KIT"  Emails brothers and sisters.
I have never sold on ebay before today. I listed some old mustang parts first as a test drive, not bad. This is my attempt at freedom from employers. I am in Casper, WY keeping a respectful eye on Yellowstone. I will share plenty with you take make this deal feel right. Get a zero speedometer truck that I won't put a mile on with out you or your guided permission.

Recharge Wrap-up: Ford's "snowtonomous" Fusion Hybrid, Porsche eyes battery makers

Fri, Mar 11 2016

Bosch and Panasonic are vying to be the battery supplier for Porsche's electric sports car based on the Mission E concept. While Bosch's costs may be higher, its solution would offer simpler logistics. Panasonic is already well established as a battery maker, providing the packs for the Porsche car's rival, Tesla. "We're in the final stage of making a decision," says Porsche CEO Oliver Blume, declining to comment on specific manufacturers. Neither Bosch nor Panasonic provided comment. Read more from Automotive News. Renault will supply a fleet of 150 Renault Zoe EVs for a smart solar charging project in Utrecht, Netherlands. The project involves the installation of 1,000 EV chargers powered by 10,000 photovoltaic panels. The Renault Zoes would be used as part of a carsharing program powered by the solar chargers. Renault and its partners will also implement a vehicle-to-grid system to provide energy during peak demand from the solar chargers and connected EVs. Read more in the press release from Renault. Ford has been testing an autonomous Fusion Hybrid prototype that is capable of driving itself in snowy conditions. Ford uses 3D mapping to scan the drive route. Its LiDAR laser mapping can even detect single falling snowflakes. It collects and processes up to 600 gigabytes of data per hour, comparing its environment to saved maps, a process that helps establish location more precisely than GPS. In addition to the LiDAR systems, the car is also equipped with cameras and radar to help it navigate. Eventually, the car could even be able to clean off its sensors when it detects loss of performance from ice and dirt. Read more in the press release below. FROM AUTONOMY TO SNOWTONOMY: HOW FORD FUSION HYBRID AUTONOMOUS RESEARCH VEHICLE CAN NAVIGATE IN WINTER DEARBORN, Mich., March 10, 2016 – Driving in snow can be a slippery challenge, with the potential for one blizzardy gust to white-out your field of view – a situation faced by the majority of people in the United States. So if self-driving cars are to become a reality – and they almost certainly will – they must be able to navigate snow-covered roads. In its quest to bring self-driving vehicles to millions of people around the world, Ford reveals six facts about its technology that allows for a car to drive itself in snow. 1. Mapping the way: Ford first creates high-resolution 3D maps using LiDAR technology to scan the area its autonomous vehicle will later drive in the snow.

2015 Ford Mustang leaked in Autoweek

Tue, 03 Dec 2013

We would have to imagine that Ford knew it couldn't keep its 2015 Mustang under wraps for too long, and with only days to go before the pony car's official unveiling, the dam seems to be cracking. SVTPerformance.com member Screamin 40th just posted some images taken of the sixth-gen Mustang prominently featured in and on the cover of the December 9 issue of Autoweek magazine.
These images show that recent renderings we saw weren't too far off. The face is just like what we saw in spy shots a few months back, but the rear of the car features some of its more striking cues. Starting with the pronounced haunches and hidden B-pillars, the rear view of the new Mustang might be its best with the ridged, three-bar taillights, a rear diffuser and the lack of a faux gas cap, which allows the galloping pony to be an even more prominent element against the black trim.
The images also reveal a small portion of the updated interior carrying over retro themes like the deep-dish steering wheel and dual-gauge instrument cluster, but it also adds some modern tech with a big infotainment displays and a clean center stack layout. No official word on powertrain or other specs, but while we can't make out most of the magazine's text, our eyes did catch mentions of an independent rear suspension and a 200-pound weight reduction.

Pickup sales may hit 2M units for first time since 2007

Sat, 21 Sep 2013

Even as fuel prices creep back up, trucks are still a hot item among new-vehicle shoppers. To see how popular pickup trucks still are, you don't have to look any further than how much effort automakers put into the continual one-upmanship of their trucks. Backing this fact up, USA Today is reporting that the segment could top two million sales this year - a total not matched since 2007, though still far from the pre-recession, three-million-unit levels.
Through August, the Ford F-Series continues to be the segment leader with almost 500,000 units sold, but the Chevy Silverado (328,269), Ram 1500 (234,642), GMC Sierra (122,232) and Toyota Tacoma (110,293) are all seeing at least 20-percent sales increases, helping to account for around 1.44 million truck sales so far this year - not including possible outliers like the Suzuki Equator and Chevy Avalanche.
This year alone, General Motors has completely redesigned its fullsize trucks, Ram and Toyota have significantly updated their offerings, the next-gen Ford F-150 will be out next year and Nissan is promising an all-new Titan around the same time with an eventual Cummins diesel under the hood. It would seem, then, that truck sales are poised to continue their upward trend.
