Original 56 Ford F100 Shortbed Pickup Truck on 2040-cars
Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, United States
56 F100. Overall pretty decent shape. The truck is basically all original and never been molested. It was painted some very long time ago with plenty of age, cracks, peeling paint, ...etc. original 272 Y-block V8, 3 speed on column. I believe this to be the original seat cover. Bed wood is rotted away. Has usual rust at cab corners, front of rear fenders and floor. But a great restoration candidate, or a decent driver just the way it is. Would be hard to find a 56 this close to being a driver for less. As far as I can tell, it just needs some brake work from sitting. I just charged the battery, added some fresh gas, and got it running. Clean and clear PA title in my name. All 4 original wheels and hubcaps. Bed sides and tailgate are solid and straight. Fenders are all usable and pretty solid. New fuel pump. New cap, rotor and points. Complete new radiator and hoses. Just a decent 56 for the money. Email any questions or to come and see it. Cash in person, or certified check with time to clear. Can not be driven away without brakes overhauled. For the asking price I will include a 1959 fresh Ford V8. Never started, complete, painted and ready to go with new and refurbished parts.

Ford barely edges surging Chrysler for Canadian sales crown in best year ever
Thu, Jan 8 2015The auto industry in the US showed strong results through much of 2014 with sales regularly growing year-over-year for many brands. That same trend carried over in the Great White North, as well. Canada posted its best numbers ever with 1.85 million units sold, up about 100,000 vehicles over 2013. The country nearly had a new market leader, too. The big winner among our neighbors to the north in 2014 was Ford with 291,951 vehicles sold, up 3 percent from 2013, according to Reuters. That success also handed the company the sales crown for the fifth consecutive year. In large part, the strong result came from the company's popular trucks, which represented about 80 percent of overall sales. "Ford moved into the number one position in September and didn't look back," said a note to clients by DesRosiers Automotive Consultants quoted by Reuters. However, the Blue Oval didn't exactly take an overwhelming lead for the year. The company nearly had to hand over the sales trophy to FCA after the company rallied in the latter part of the year. The Italian-American conglomerate had its best results ever to nip at the Ford's heels and move 290,004 units for 2014, a 12-percent improvement from last year. Jeep especially helped the bottom line with over 50-percent growth, according to Reuters. Only two other brands were able to break the 200,000-vehicle barrier in Canada for 2014. General Motors came in third place overall with 249,800 sales, up 6.3 percent. The combined Toyota and Lexus also barely jumped the hurdle with 200,851 units moved, a 2.8 percent improvement.
Lincoln Aviator could make a comeback
Tue, Jun 9 2015The idea of Lincoln dropping its alphanumeric scheme in favor of real names was welcomed by fans of the marque and even appeared possible after the rousing reception to the Continental concept. Now, rumors suggest that the next of the luxury brand's nameplates to see a possible revival just might be the Aviator. Don't get your hopes up quite yet, though. The Truth About Cars admits that this tip comes from a second-hand source, but the person reports that Lincoln has a project codenamed Aviator as a model based on the Explorer. There's evidence to give the rumor some shaky support, though. Ford already has the trademarks for the name and AV8R. Also, an Explorer-based vehicle in 2019 is included for the brand's predictions in the recent Car Wars forecast. Autoblog reached out to company spokesperson Sam Locricchio, but he would not speculate about future products. The same source claims to The Truth About Cars that the Blue Oval might not replace the Ford Flex or Lincoln MKT when the current generations come to an end. Also, the next-gen Expedition and Navigator could use 10-speed automatics and follow the F-150 to get aluminum bodies, which is also already rumored. Although, all of this should be taken with a big grain of salt until anything more official has arrived. Lincoln spokesperson Stephane Cesareo gave The Truth About Cars no comment on the rumor, but said, "By 2020, we expect to expand the segments that we participate in by adding two new nameplates to the Lincoln brand. We have not provided any indications about the products or their names." Related Video:
Rolling footage of the 2015 Ford Mustang hits YouTube [w/video]
Thu, 26 Dec 2013Just in time for the holidays: Ford took the 2015 Mustang to Route 66 to cook up rolling footage, and we've been given some of the leftovers ahead of the meal. There are no burnouts, no donuts, no revving, and thankfully, no music. It's just two minutes and 26 seconds of the new pony car running free in the desert.
So in case you needed more visualizing help, the video below will help you start imagining how you'll look in your 2014 Christmas present to yourself...
