I bought this truck from its home in Wyoming and had it shipped to Charleston, SC inside an enclosed trailer to take wedding pictures a few months ago. This is its the story from the previous owner in WY...

"In 1965 an Elderly gentleman in western Wyoming bought a brand new 1965 Ford 100 and he only used it to go fishing and he babied it until he passed away in the late 1970's his wife kept the truck and their son in law would take it out and drive it every time he came to visit which was 2-3 times a year, Until one time in the late 1980's when she said "why don't you just take that truck home with you" so he did and he too babied and cared for the truck until his children were starting to drive and couldn't wait to drive the Ford truck. Well he just couldn't see the kids using the truck and possibly maybe damaging it! So he said maybe I should find the Ford a new home? And that's what he did. This is where the story gets interesting......A Gentleman that is our close friend (small town) and also drives for our company time to time and use to be the director of the Chamber of Commerce bought the truck in 1993 from the son in law and was so proud of the truck! And why not at that time it had only 24,000 miles on it and was like new. He paraded around town it working for the Chamber and also took extremely great care of it as well until he retired in 2004 that's when he sold it to a Gentleman in Burley, Idaho for some reason he lost the truck to the Bank and that is where the owner now bought it and babied it as well to this date and even added a few extra's like a 4 barrel intake manifold and a 4 barrel carburetor, a spray in bed liner, higher gears in the rear axle for better highway travel. The Oil bath air cleaner original manifold and original gears go with the truck. So when the Gentleman brought us the truck to sell and our guy saw it and said "that's my old truck"!! Just goes to show us all how small the world really is."

Now it's time for the 5th owner to take over! This truck has been in western Wyoming and southern Idaho its entire life. It is a rust free Truck and drive and runs like new!

Power steering was added as well during its life. The odometer reads 48,212 but has stopped working about 4-5,000 miles ago. "Not documented but the owner claims about 52,000 miles on the truck"

I have kept the truck in the same condition and the truck remains perfect. For a vehicle almost 50 years old, I have been pleasantly surprised that it starts right up and runs like a "new" truck. The odometer is still stuck but I couldn't have put more than a few hundred miles in the past 6 months. The higher gears in the back end and power steering are a welcome update and the 352 V-8 has plenty of power for whatever you could need.

The original parts still come with the truck.

Highlights:

352 V-8
4-barrel Carb/Intake Manifold
Power steering
4-speed on the floor
"highway" gears
Spray in bedliner
Custom wood bed rails
Immaculate paint and body

This truck is ready to drive and takes unleaded 87 gas. Its a classic but is ready for modern driving.

This is a true gem with not even a hint of rust

Let me know if you have any questions at all. This truck is a true "find" and gets looks and compliments on a daily basis.

Happy Bidding!!

Ford recalls 300,000 Crown Vics over lighting module

Wed, Dec 23 2015

The Basics: Ford is recalling 312,814 units of the Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis sedans from the 2003-2005 model years. They were built at the St. Thomas Assembly Plant between Oct. 3, 2001, and Aug. 2, 2005. Ford says 296,004 of those units are located in the United States, with another 14,714 in Canada and 2,096 in Mexico. The Problem: The solder joints on the lighting control module could crack, depriving the headlamps of the power they need to light the way ahead. That could increase the risk of a crash, particularly at night and in other low-visibility situations. Injuries/Deaths: Ford reports that it is aware of 11 accidents that resulted from the problem, leading to one injury described as "minor." The Fix: The manufacturer is instructing dealers to replace the entire lighting control module. If You Own One: Make sure your headlights are working before getting under way. If they're not, avoid driving under low-light conditions, including at night, in heavy precipitation, or in fog. Poor headlights cause 40 cars to miss IIHS Top Safety Pick rating

Mon, Aug 6 2018

Over the past few months, we've noticed a number of cars and SUVs that have come incredibly close to earning one of the IIHS's highest accolades, the Top Safety Pick rating. They have great crash test scores and solid automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning systems. What trips them up is headlights. That got us wondering, how many vehicles are there that are coming up short because they don't have headlights that meet the organization's criteria for an "Acceptable" or "Good" rating. This is a revision made after 2017, a year in which headlights weren't factored in for this specific award. This is also why why some vehicles, such as the Ford F-150, might have had the award last year, but have lost it for this year. We reached out to someone at IIHS to find out. He responded with the following car models. Depending on how you count, a whopping 40 models crash well enough to receive the rating, but don't get it because their headlights are either "Poor" or "Marginal." We say depending on how you count because the IIHS actual counts truck body styles differently, and the Infiniti Q70 is a special case. Apparently the version of the Q70 that has good headlights doesn't have adequate forward collision prevention technology. And the one that has good forward collision tech doesn't have good enough headlights. We've provided the entire list of vehicles below in alphabetical order. Interestingly, it seems the Volkswagen Group is having the most difficulty providing good headlights with its otherwise safe cars. It had the most models on the list at 9 split between Audi and Volkswagen. GM is next in line with 7 models. It is worth noting again that though these vehicles have subpar headlights and don't quite earn Top Safety Pick awards, that doesn't mean they're unsafe. They all score well enough in crash testing and forward collision prevention that they would get the coveted award if the lights were better.

Ford is recalling more Takata airbag-equipped Ford and Lincoln models

Thu, Mar 2 2017

The Basics: Takata, the beleaguered airbag supplier at the root of the largest recall in automotive history, has informed Ford of a problem with the airbags in just over 30,000 Ford and Lincoln models. The problem is not related to the non-desiccated ammonium nitrate airbag inflators that plague the other airbags ( including many Fords), meaning there isn't a risk of shrapnel flying out from the units in this particular recall. The Problem: In the event of an accident, the front airbags may only partially inflate, and the airbag may become detached from the module because of misaligned parts. The problem affects 2016 and 2017 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX models built at the Oakville Assembly Plant. The issue also affects 2017 Lincoln Continentals that were built at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant. Injuries/Deaths: In a release, Ford stated that it is not aware of any accidents, injuries, or deaths related to the airbag issue. The Fix: Dealers will replace the driver-side front airbag module at no cost. If You Own One: Sit tight and wait for Ford to notify owners. When that happens, take your car to the dealer for a replacement. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
