Ford F100 Shortbed on 2040-cars
Rock Hill, South Carolina, United States
A one of a kind '70 Ford F100 2wd shortbed. This truck runs great. I hate to sell, but I have too many projects. The body is in good condition with no major rust issues. The shortbed is relatively rare and desireable (over the longbed). I drive this truck almost daily with no issues. I put a new gas tank in it a couple years ago and change the oil regularly. This would be a great truck to restore or just drive it as is. It has a great running 351W with a manual 3spd transmission. Tires are 60% or better. I've owned it for 6 years and it's a fun truck that gets lots of looks! Keep in mind, this is a 43 year old truck. It is not perfect, however, this is a very driveable truck and great base for a restoration or just enjoy it the way it is. The bed is solid with one area at the very front right corner of the bed where it has rusted through (this is included in the pictures--see the middle of the pic for the bad spot),but the bed is structurally sound. I do have a bedliner which is also pictured. Usually I keep the bedliner on the truck, but took it off for the pictures. There is zero to no rust along the bottom edge of the doors (shown in pics). The passenger side floor pan should probably be replaced or patched at some point, but I've seen worse (also pictured). The odometer reads about 55K but this is probably not accurate. The motor is a 351W which is not original to the truck. It is a rebuild which was put in at some point by the previous owner. I have no idea how many miles are on it, but it runs ver well and starts every time. I started replacing body parts (which explains the "custom" paint job) with the intention of doing a restore. However, I stumbled across something else along the way. So, some other lucky person will get to finish this project. On Jan-10-14 at 20:26:22 PST, seller added the following information: **One item of note--Clearly I've replaced some parts. When I replaced the doors, I forgot to pull the data plate off of the old door, so the VIN on the current data plate does not match the VIN on the frame. The VIN on the frame does match the VIN on the title. This is why car makers stamp VINs on frames--thankfully... Not a huge issue, but I wanted to be upfront about this. |

Former Ford president, Jaguar chairman Nick Scheele dead at 70
Sun, 20 Jul 2014We have the privilege here at Autoblog of reporting a lot of good news, but it is our duty as well to report the bad news and sad news as well. And this is one of those occasions as the automotive industry mourns the passing of one of its leaders.
Nick Scheele was born in the UK in 1944 and joined the Ford Motor Company upon graduating from the University of Durham in 1966, staying within the Blue Oval's portfolio for the entirety of his career. After moving to North America in 1978, he rose through the ranks to become president of Ford's Mexican operations in 1988. After acquiring Jaguar, Ford appointed Scheele as its chairman.
Scheele subsequently acted as chairman of all of Ford's European operations, making difficult decisions to take the division out of the red and into the black. He briefly headed up Ford's North American division before he was appointed in 2001 as president and chief operating officer of the global automaker, working under CEO Bill Ford following the departure of Jacques Nasser departure and retaining the role until his retirement in 2005.
Ford Recalls Nearly 700,000 Vehicles
Fri, May 9 2014Ford is recalling more than 692,000 Escape small SUVs and C-Max gas-electric hybrids in North America to fix two safety problems. The recalls cover vehicles from the 2013 and 2014 model years. Most of the Escapes have both problems. The first case covers 692,500 Escape and C-Max vehicles. A software glitch can stop the side curtain air bags from inflating in certain types of rollover crashes. The company says it has no reports of crashes or injuries. Dealers will reprogram the air bag control computer for free. About 65,000 of the recalled vehicles are C-Max models, and the rest are Escapes. Roughly 591,000 are in the U.S., with 3,500 more in U.S. territories. About 78,000 are in Canada and another 19,500 are in Mexico, Fordspokeswoman Kelli Felker said in an e-mail. There could be more vehicles affected in other markets, the company said. The affected Escapes were built from Oct. 5, 2011 through Feb. 14, 2014. The C-Max vehicles were built from Jan. 19, 2012, through Feb. 24, 2014. The second case covers about 692,700 Escapes. Exterior door handles can bind and stop the door from latching properly. This could allow doors to open while the SUVs are in motion. Dealers will inspect the handles and reposition them if needed. No crashes or injuries have been reported. About 583,000 are in the U.S. or its territories, with another 89,500 in Canada and 20,000 in Mexico. Ford said in this case, the problem may affect vehicles in other markets. All the North American Escapes were built from Oct. 5, 2011, through April 10, 2014. Recalls Ford escape
Lego provides one of the cheapest ways to own a Bugatti Chiron
Tue, Jan 3 2017Just over a month ago, we got a look at one of the latest Lego Speed Champions sets when Ford revealed the GT and GT40 kit. Now we get to see the rest of the lineup, and it's chock full of F1 and supercar goodness. The official Lego images show that the Bugatti Chiron, Mercedes-AMG GT3, Ferrari FXX K, and F1 cars from Ferrari and Mercedes all made the cut. Each set gets some unique features and most include interchangeable wheel covers. The Chiron comes with some tiny cones suitable for desk slaloms and the Mercedes-AMG GT3 gets an alternate nose. The FXX K comes has the most impressive selection of accessories, though, as it includes a dyno and engine run stand. The F1 sets are divided similarly, but with Mercedes getting more extras. The Brick Fan also reports that the Mercedes kit may be exclusive to select stores. The Ferrari kit only comes with a starting light, but the Mercedes set includes a garage, starting lights, and winner's circle. It'll be up to you whether you put Hamilton or Rosberg in that winner's circle. According to The Brick Fan, these kits are set for release in winter 2017. Since the Ford GT set has a release of March 1, we expect the rest will hit stores in the next couple of months. They're sure to be great additions to anyone's existing Lego garage.
