Original slick '66 right down to the Wallace bumper sticker. 240 engine that runs strong but has some lifter chatter but good oil pressure. Factory automatic transmission, shifts good and goes down the road like a '60's truck should. All new brakes, shocks, universals, exhaust and tires. Gauges don't work but the idiot lights and other lights do. (I have the Custom Cab gauge cluster but like the base model gauge better. Truck will be sold with the Custom Cab cluster.) The truck came from Arkansas last year where it spent it life as a farm truck so the body is pretty solid. There is a dent in the front right fender that looks like it happened long ago. The only rust is in the front right cab mount, both floor supports where they meet the rocker panel and a few small spots on the bottom lip of both cab corners and the floor toe kick area that would be easily welded. Cab roof lip, fender wells, door bottoms, windshield area, hood all rust free. Hood has some dents. Bed floor is solid with a few pin holes but the floor is fairly straight being that it was a work truck. Tailgate is the original '66 with only a few pin holes above the bumper sticker. Cool patina paint that only age can create. Sun baked and cracked, not a fake sanded down faux patina. Frame is perfect with not even pitting. This truck has probably spent more time in the Soybean fields rather than on the road. Original Custom Cab truck with all the regular stainless and aluminum trim ordered with a factory Automatic and NO RADIO. No patched dash just never had one. (There is a hole in the left side cowl where a spotlight was added at some point but is gone so only a 1" hole remains.) Original tow mirrors as well. This truck runs and drives and is currently registered in Connecticut now. Check out the pictures and ask questions. I'd keep it but I have a '66 factory short 4x4 I'm building so this one has to go. Bill of sale only since it's registered in Connecticut and over 25 years old. (CT doesn't trust it's taxpayers with vehicle titles or firearms...they feel we're to stupid).

Ford to rebrand SVT as 999?
Mon, 22 Sep 2014Ford operates a number of performance divisions around the world. There's SVT in the US, Team RS in Europe and Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) in Australia. But the Blue Oval has been steadily integrating its performance operations into one unit, and here we might have our first indication of what it will be called.
A reader at Jalopnik sent in a survey in which respondents were asked to gauge the name for a new performance brand from a "major automotive manufacturer," and while the identity of that automaker was not disclosed, according to the survey, the automaker is considering the name 999 for its new go-fast unit.
As our compatriots point out, the 999 was Ford's first racecar, a rudimentary chassis with a 19-liter inline-four campaigned by Henry Ford around the turn of the 20th century. (Ford also used the number to designate a Fusion fuel-cell racer a few years back.) That could prove the tie-in Dearborn is looking for in rebranding its performance operations worldwide, replacing the letters SVT, RS and FPV globally under one name.
Ford Mustang GT350 seen and heard in motion for the first time
Fri, 27 Sep 2013We just recently saw our first spy shots of the next-gen hi-po Ford Mustang slated to replace the Shelby GT500, but now we're getting our first look - and listen - of prototypes captured on video. Mustang6g.com has the video (along with some different spy shots), which show that, if nothing else, SVT knows how to tune an exhaust system. The :50 mark is a good example of this, but fast-forward to around 2:00 where the driver revs the engine and really gets on the throttle hard taking off from a stop.
There's still no definitive evidence that the next-gen SVT Mustang - said to be called GT350 - will be naturally aspirated, but it sounds just as menacing as the current Shelby GT500. While the video posted below exhibits the sort of quality that is to be expected from someone driving while trying to film someone who is attempting to elude being filmed, it's still exciting to see and hear this new Mustang in motion.
Ford decides C-Max shoppers not interested in fuel economy
Sat, Oct 25 2014If you say a car – the Ford C-Max Hybrid, for example – is "fun to drive," can anyone really come up with some empirical evidence against your claim? What about calling it "versatile"? We wonder if Ford has been thinking along these lines when it talks about the green little hatch. Ford is refocusing its sales strategy for the C-Max Hybrid after the model took a sales hit on both sides of the Atlantic recently, Automotive News reports. That sales dropoff may stem from the fact that Ford has had to revise its fuel-economy figures downward for the C-Max twice since last year, most recently in June. That made the company's once-proud fuel-economy comparisons with the Toyota Prius kind of pointless. Ford is going a different route, calling the model versatile (which, to be fair it was also doing a year ago), technologically advanced and fun to drive. Since the C-Max has about 50 more horsepower than the Prius, that last part may be true. Ford representatives didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from AutoblogGreen about the mpg-mention-free advertising direction, but we will update this post if we hear back. Sales of the C-Max Hybrid have suffered in the US. Through September, Ford sold 15,245 C-Max Hybrids, down 36 percent from last year. We shall see if a new focus away from the car's lowered mpg numbers helps. At least Ford can be pleased with sales of the C-Max Energi Plug-in Hybrid, which are up 51 percent compared to 2013.
