Ford F100 Ranger , California Truck Solid And Straight on 2040-cars
Shortsville, New York, United States
This truck has great potential as either a driver or restoration.
The truck has a great vintage look to it that attracts attention every time I drive it . The 1971 ranger package f100 in this condition is very rare. It has a 360 v8 that was rebuilt before I bought it. Overall clean under the hood . The auto transmission shifts as it should. The truck is equipped with a brake controller that looks original. The exhaust is new.The door gaskets have been replaced. The interior is redone fairly well. The seat has been recovered. Unfortunately the original radio is gone but there is a cd player with remote. Power Steering, Power Brakes, Airconditioning, Brake controller, Cd player with amp. Not molested or beat. This was a gentlemans truck. The paint is a 10 footer but its not that bad. The navy blue is a 7 out of 10. It could be buffed out to look better. The bed has a spray in liner in decent condition. There are a couple spots with rust bubbles but not bad. One the size of a 50 cent piece on the passenger door and some on the tailgate here and there, small ones. Overall a great truck to restore or fix up and drive. California truck, not rotted out , great condition. What it needs are a carb rebuild , the brakes done , and some rims and tires. I am not sure about the drips but they aren't terrible and the truck doesn't lose oil noticeably. Look at the pics, she is straight and in really good shape, if I had time I would fix her myself. Breaks my heart really because I know when I look back Im going to kick myself for selling . I just want another ford guy who can fix this truck up to buy it. Clear title in hand. I will require a 500 dollar non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction ending , buyer is responsible for shipping. I think you would be better off shipping or trailer the truck as the brakes do need attention before driving too much. Thanks for looking, and message me if you have questions. The reserve is a fair price and I will help out the buyer by being available to the shipper. |

BMW V8-powered Ford Model A is the definition of Hot Rod
Thu, 20 Jun 2013Today, hotrodding has a pretty staid definition. Take one classic American car, add one classic American V8, sprinkle with tire smoke and you pretty much have every hot rod to roll out of a shop in the last 40 years. Mike Borroughs knows it wasn't always this way. Once upon a time, getting your bucket to go faster meant grabbing whatever parts were lazing about the yard, bolting them together with a bit of ingenuity and laughing your way down the quarter mile. It's in that spirit that Burroughs built his 1928 Ford Model A.
Rather than turn to the tired flathead or the common Chevrolet small block, Burroughs plucked a 4.0-liter V8 from a 1995 BMW 7 Series. With 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, the engine has no trouble shuffling the old A around town. He had to build a custom chassis to get everything to cooperate, but the result is a 1,500-pound heathen that looks built to harass dry lake beds. You can check it out in the video below. Be warned, the soundtrack by Hanni el Khatib may not be safe for work - awesomeness of this caliber rarely is.
Ford Focus ST diesel estate in track showdown with Focus ST hatch
Sun, Jan 18 2015Diesel hot hatches are still a concept that's gaining ground. Obviously, there are none for sale in the US, but European buyers have the choice of at least the Volkswagen Golf GTD and Ford Focus ST Diesel. What better way to find out how the new, high-performance oil-burner really stacks up than for Ford to stage a race against the gasoline-fueled Focus ST? On paper, the ST Diesel is at a big performance detriment here. Its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 182 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque compared to 247 hp and 266 lb-ft for the gas version in this race. However while not a factor for this race, the oil-burner does offer better fuel economy and produces less CO2, which makes a difference for European buyers. Ford skews the race results by giving the ST Diesel Estate a two-second head start for this one-lap battle around the Castle Combe Circuit. Also, this is a video from the Blue Oval, which is going to further minimize the appearance of weakness for its vehicles. Still, both STs really get to show off their strengths, and it's worth seeing how the sibling rivalry shakes out at the finish line.
Former Ford president, Jaguar chairman Nick Scheele dead at 70
Sun, 20 Jul 2014We have the privilege here at Autoblog of reporting a lot of good news, but it is our duty as well to report the bad news and sad news as well. And this is one of those occasions as the automotive industry mourns the passing of one of its leaders.
Nick Scheele was born in the UK in 1944 and joined the Ford Motor Company upon graduating from the University of Durham in 1966, staying within the Blue Oval's portfolio for the entirety of his career. After moving to North America in 1978, he rose through the ranks to become president of Ford's Mexican operations in 1988. After acquiring Jaguar, Ford appointed Scheele as its chairman.
Scheele subsequently acted as chairman of all of Ford's European operations, making difficult decisions to take the division out of the red and into the black. He briefly headed up Ford's North American division before he was appointed in 2001 as president and chief operating officer of the global automaker, working under CEO Bill Ford following the departure of Jacques Nasser departure and retaining the role until his retirement in 2005.
