The condition of the exterior, interior and engine can vary depending on the vehicle's history. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"Body is in great shape, but has driver side cab corner rusted out. The window rubber is old and allowing water to run into the cab as happens with older vehicles. Driver window is cracked and needs replaced along with the small back window. The only item not functional is the fuel gauge. Not sure if it is the fuel sensor in the tank, or the gauge itself. All wiring is in tact, but I have not worked the issue any further."

Condition: This truck is very solid. All original. Runs and drives great for being stock. Of course being stock, the top speed is about 50mph in third gear. I recently put new mirrors and hub caps on and headlight beauty rings.   Mechanical: Since the motor was rebuilt for unleaded gas, it has about 5 to 6 thousand. I do not have any paperwork to prove that, but that was word of mouth when I bought it. The motor sounds solid, no lifter noise, knocks or any other indication of that not to be true, but it does run very solid. I recently changed the right rear wheel cylinder and master cylinder. The brakes kept locking on pulling. Now they have fresh fluid and work as good as only drum brakes can. I also inspected all 4 wheels to see what shape the brakes are in and they have about 75% life left on the pads. The oil was replaced about 50 miles ago and at the same time had new tires put on. the speedo cable was causing the needle to bounce around, so that is brand new from C & G early ford parts. new o-ring and drive gear were put on at the same time. I installed a new battery and new cables for both negative and positive on with quick release battery terminals. The radiator was leaking so I had a tractor radiator shop braze the missing copper and ensure it is leak tight. At the same time, I put new hoses, thermostat and, water pump on. The steering is tight and drives straight. The linkage for the column shift is tight and shifts nicely. The original blinker parts are missing so an after market blinker was put on at some point in its life. They do sell all the original blinker parts on LMC Truck. Other then that, the truck drives nice for an all original 56 and is solid. I do have the paper work for the parts ordered and the tires and oil change as well. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask and I will update as needed for everyones info. Thank you for taking the time to take a look.

Features: This is a 1956 F-100 small window longbed. It has the stock inline six 223 and 3 speed manual transmission on the column. I tried my best to keep everything stock including the original oil bath air breather. The only items upgraded is that I took off the original generator (still working) and put on a petronix's coil and electronic points with a gm 1 wire alternator.

History:I am currently the fourth owner of the truck. The truck has been California owned its whole life until the last two years. I am military so the truck had to travel with me once I left the state. Currently in Alabama. The rust is very minimal, except for the driver cab corner mentioned. The truck was sitting for about 6 years, but I have been doing much needed maintenance to get it back up and running.

Shipping and Payment: Buyer is responsible for shipping or pickup. I will work with buyers shipper and buyer as much as possible.

70% of pickups could use aluminum by 2025

Wed, 11 Jun 2014

In the next decade, the auto industry will see an explosion in its use of aluminum to cut weight and increase fuel economy, according to a study from market analysts Ducker Worldwide cited by The Detroit News. We are already seeing the lightweight metal show up extensively in luxury models from Europe, but with the impending launch of aluminum-intensive 2015 Ford F-150 (pictured above), North America is using it even more, as well. The report predicts 70 percent of US pickups to have aluminum bodies by 2025.
It won't just be pickups that see the benefit, though. The average amount of aluminum in US vehicles is forecasted by the study to grow from an average of 350 pounds in 2013 to about 550 pounds by 2025. The most common parts to use it will be hoods, doors and - to some extent - roofs, as well.
The massive increase in pickups' aluminum content hardly seems surprising. The F-150 is predicted to use so much that it might cause a short-term shortage, according to one earlier report. At the same time General Motors is heavily rumored to be negotiating with suppliers for the next generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. Ram is the last holdout of the Big Three, but the study predicts that not to last.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: First production 2015 Ford Mustang earns $300k for JDRF [w/video]

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

We've almost become immune to the huge dollar amounts that collectible cars earn for charity at Barrett-Jackson. To wit, $300,000 for the first production 2015 Ford Mustang initially didn't seem like very much money. In reality, though, it's probably about 10 times the actual asking price for the car, and we're pleased to report that 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
According to Ford, the car's winning bidder will get to "choose a fastback with manual or automatic transmission, and any interior, exterior and stripe color combination offered by Ford on the all-new Mustang." Power will come from a slightly revised version of the well-known 5.0-liter V8 engine that will produce "more than 420hp and 396 pound-feet of torque."
We snapped live images of the 2015 Mustang prototype that Ford had on display here at Barrett-Jackson, and you can check them out above. The official auction description, along with a video of the auction as it happened live, is below.

Ken Block walks you through his new 'Hoonigan Racing' HQ

Tue, 24 Jun 2014

Ken Block seems like one hell of a nice guy. I ran into him at CES this past January, and he dropped the video games he was playing to chat with me for a while. His crew also recently gave our Steve Ewing a tour of the offices you're about to see on this video. Good guy to know.
As it turns out, they're some fairly cool new digs. Dubbed 'Hoonigan Racing Division HQ,' the office is open to Ford Focus ST and Fiesta ST owners who attend the driving program offered out at Miller Motorsports Park. The very same program that Ewing reported on just recently.
Or, if you've no plans to buy an ST or travel to Utah any time soon, you can let Block show you around himself in this MTV Cribs-style video. With interior decorating that relies heavily on shipping containers and luxurious amenities like a ping pong table, 10 refrigerators and a bear(?), there's no lack of eye-candy in the driverly HQ. (Judging by Block's outfit, you'll probably not go thirsty if you're a Monster drinker, either.) Take the tour along with the Gymkhana master, below.
