You are Bidding on my 1955 Ford Pickup.
The paint as you view it has taken 3 Generations of ownership to acheive and a Life-time of Memories.
The Truck lives here in Bakersfield California just a very short 12 miles from the "World Famous" Famosa Drag Strip, it has spent it's entire life Here, with the exception of the first year which was spent in a high desert community between Bakersfield and Los Angeles.
You will notice the "Typical City or County" Orange paint weathered under the Burgandy, yep it was originally a 6-cylinder 3 speed County owned truck that went to auction shortly after its first year of service because the town which owned became over extended and it was sold at auction.
It has spent the rest of its life between home and the Dragstrip with countless trips to Muroc and Utah to the Salt at Bonneville. She still wears the decals of visits past and hope she always will.
The truck was stolen in 2009 but recovered, it was at this point I decided to give her a "New Life".
This has been a Very Tough Decision on my part and my Son and Grandson's to even offer this truck up for Auction, but we have so lets get on with the details of the package.
There are 282 miles total on the 454 Big Block Chevy,Thumper Cam, Rectangular Port Heads, Built and done correctly.
Exhaust system is completly new and does have "Electric Cut-outs", and they sound great. So extra nice to have that Hot Rod Noise and added boost at your finger tips.
Horse-Power is backed-up by a Freshly built 700R Automatic Transmission with the same mileage time.
The Rearend is a "Currie" 9" unit running 3.78"s which make for a wonderful High-way crusing truck.
TCI Mustang Front End with 4 wheel Disc Brakes all the way around. It runs and stops the way it should be expected to.
Full Chrome Tilt Steering Column, and a beautiful engine turned dash.
The Upolstery is a very traditional "Black & White Tuck and Roll with pleated inserts and door panels to match. Headliner is smooth and perfect to match.
Firestone 16's all the way around 890's in the rear and 600's in the front. Truck drives smooth and straight. No Problems.
All wiring and electrical Front to back and Fuse Panel under dash is New and everything works as it should.
This time around we went to one-piece windows to keep the wind-wing bandits away, added under dash heat and air.
Bed wood is new with Stainless steel strips and all stainless steel hardware throughout.
Tilt Hood as shown.
I do have the spare tire carrier which has been powder coated Glossy Black. I also have a complete set of new door rubbers which will also go with the truck along with photos of the truck throughout its rebuild.
My Eddie Meyer Air-Cleaner will not be included with the truck as it was a gift from my wife. (No Exceptions Guys, Sorry)
I'm sure that I have left something out so please ask. I will reply as quick as I can, however I do actually have a real Job and do not have constant access to be able to respond.
Please do not wait until the closing moments of the auction to ask questions because you will be geeted by thin air it just will not get a response on short notice.
The Truck is listed with a very realistic reserve considering what it was, and what it is today. You couldn't Fake this Truck in your wildest Dream.
It is what it is so view the pictures and bid accordingly.
Please Note, if you have less than favorable or a recent negative or non-Payment Strike your Bid will be cancelled No Exceptions.
Just ask if you are in Doubt!

Auto investor Kirk Kerkorian dead at 98
Wed, Jun 17 2015Kirk Kerkorian, among the most talked-about investors in the American auto industry in recent memory, died at the age of 98 in Los Angeles on Monday, June 15. The billionaire ran the investment company Tracinda Corp. and was the largest shareholder in MGM Resorts International. Kerkorian attempted to use his power as a well-financed investor to push the auto industry in some fascinating ways. In 2006, he used his nearly 10-percent stake in General Motors to push a merger with the Renault-Nissan Alliance. The deal made it as far as discussions, but eventually fell through. Kerkorian also attempted to purchase Chrysler - twice. According to Automotive News, the first effort came in 1995 with a $22.8-billion offer for the automaker, and soon after it failed the company merged with Daimler. Then in 2007, Kerkorian was back with a bid for $4.5 billion, but things eventually fell to Cerberus. The billionaire finished the trifecta by buying up $1 billion in Ford stock in 2008 to make Kerkorian the single largest investor in the company. However, the situation didn't last long, and by the end of that year, he had unloaded the shares. According to Automotive News, Kerkorian was ranked by Forbes as the world's 41st richest man in 2008 with a net worth of $16 billion. 2015 Ford F-150 to get 2.7-liter EcoBoost?
Mon, 30 Dec 2013As we prepare for the arrival of the all-new, next-generation Ford F-150, rumors about the new truck are picking up steam. Naturally, many of said rumors aren't just related to the way the truck will look (it's expected to take design cues from the Atlas concept shown above), they're tied to what's going to motivate the Blue Oval mainstay, with Ford's EcoBoost range likely to play an increasingly key role. While we're still expecting the current 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 to retain its position as a premium alternative to Ford's naturally aspirated V6 and V8, a Canadian automotive news site is proposing that the Dearborn automaker is also preparing a new, more fuel-efficient downsized EcoBoost option.
Autos.ca is reporting that a new, 2.7-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 could find its way into the lighter, aluminum-intensive truck. The new engine supposedly makes use of asymmetrical turbos to generate 320 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque - substantially more impressive numbers than the current 3.7-liter base engine's 302 ponies and 278 lb-ft - while offering improved fuel economy and emissions. The new 2.7 EcoBoost (internally dubbed "Nano") isn't expected to supplant the naturally aspirated V6 as the F-150's base engine, it's expected to slot in above directly it.
Naturally, we're prescribing more than a few grains of salt to go with these rumors, at least until Ford debuts the next F-150 at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, a reveal we'll be covering in a mere two weeks.
National Geographic Channel balances Ford F-150 on four coffee mugs
Wed, 29 Jan 2014Proving that there is still something to be learned on television these days, National Geographic Channel recently introduced a new series called Duck Quacks Don't Echo. On the first episode of this science/comedy show, host Michael Ian Black proposes the idea that a truck can be supported with a ceramic coffee mug under each wheel - yes, he says that the entire weight of a truck can be balanced on just four coffee mugs.
Looking to find out whether this is fact or myth, the show uses a regular cab Ford F-150, weighing in at 4,800 pounds, and four average coffee mugs. Lowered onto the mugs, the idea is quickly put to the test. Can the cups hold up under 4,800 pounds? If so, what, exactly, would it take to break them? Scroll down below to find out.
