Chopped Channeled Custom Rat Rod Custom Street Rod Hot Rod Z'ed Frame Old School on 2040-cars
Frankfort, Kentucky, United States
I have a cool old rat rod for sale. Has a lot of custom work and a lot of money in it. To start its a 100% Henry Ford steel body that is solid and rust free. Cab was chopped 3 inches and channeled raising the floor another 3 inches. Surprisingly it still has room and Im 6'0 230lbs. Frame is z'ed in front of cab but other than that frame is the original frame for the truck. Bed is original also with a beautiful wooden floor. Motor is a stock bore 350 4 bolt main with open headers, edelbrock intake and holley carb. Runs very well and just made a trip from Ga which was right at 11hrs. Trans is also a stock 350 turbo which shifts good no slips or leaks. Truck actually doesn't leak a drop of anything at all. Rear end is a 10bolt with open dif. Truck cruises the interstate with no problem at all. Interior is all custom black and white from headliner to carpet all brand new. Has tilt column which helps with giving a little more room. Has a corvair steering box. All new wiring making sure all lights and gauges work like they should and no chance of fire from old wiring. Has original gauges and speedo works! Truck runs cool charges great and has great oil pressure. Has working turn signals brake lights and headlights. Have coker white wall tires with chrome steelies and baby moon caps. Brakes are disc in front and drum in rear. Paint is hot rod black with red hand painted custom pin stripping. Truck is a very nice very reliable cruiser with a true 1937 Ford title that I have in hand. No builder title! There is so much more than listed here but you would really have to just walk around the truck with me to remember everything. Your more than welcome to come look and listen to the truck for your self. |

Jaguar design boss admits X-Type was a mistake
Thu, 19 Sep 2013History has a way of repeating itself, especially in the auto industry. When Jaguar was owned by Ford, the British brand attempted to field a competitor for the BMW 3 Series, called the X-Type. Based on the bones of a Ford Mondeo, it aped the styling of Jaguar's flagship model, the XJ, while borrowing liberally from the Ford parts bin. That was 2001.
Now, in 2013, Jaguar is planning a new 3 Series challenger based on the platform previewed by the C-X17 Concept, while Ford is attempting to take the latest Mondeo upmarket. The moves have both brands recognizing where, why, and how the X-Type failed. "It didn't look mature or powerful or anything. It was just a car," Jaguar's current head of advanced design, Julian Thomson, told PistonHeads. Basing the X-Type on a front-drive car while giving it styling that was meant for a rear-driver lead to proportions that "were plainly wrong," Thomson told PH. Ford's European head of quality, Gunnar Herrmann, added that the X-Type was "a fake Jaguar, because every piece I touch is Ford."
For what it's worth, the X-Type's successor in the segment will sport rear-drive, with plenty of input from Ian Callum. Thomson described the new model, which would challenge the 3 Series as having, "Big wheels right to the ends of the car, low bonnet, short overhangs, very low cabins." Sounds good to us.
2015 Ford Mustang renders reveal look of the real thing
Tue, 15 Oct 2013This is, according to the pony-car obsessed kids over at Mustang6G.com, the closest, most accurate rendering of the new, 2015 Ford Mustang to date. Artis Chazcron used a combination of Ford CAD images and information from assorted spy shots to assemble a fairly handsome car, albeit one that conforms to the tired cliché of being more evolutionary than revolutionary.
Now, it's very important to note that these are still speculative renders, and that they only represent the base car - that could explain the lack of the Mustang's vestigial side scoops, along with other, newer styling cues that Mustang6G seems to think will arrive on production models. Those items include a new, double-bubble roof, although the Mustang aficionados claim that even if it were present, it'd barely be visible from these angles.
The front end is pretty spot on, compared to what we've seen from earlier spy shots, while the tail, with its interesting light design is something new. The louvered taillights look quite different from the current version, obviously, though Mustang has gone the whimsical route with taillights before. Also, note the new rear diffuser uses an integrated reverse light and rear foglight, the latter of which is required for sale in Europe.
