The seat was redone in tan cloth and the seat foam is firm and like new. The truck is equipped with lap belts. The headliner has been redone and the door panels are in good condition. The dash pad is excellent with no rips or cracks. The gauge cluster is clear and all the gauges and lights are functional. The stock wheel has been replaced with a wood spoke wheel with chrome center cap and the horn is operational. The truck is equipped with dual fuel tanks and the gauge reads accurate for both tanks and the switch over valve operates smooth. The carpet is new and in excellent condition. A rear tinted sliding rear window has been installed. A factory AM/FM radio is installed but is not operational. DRIVE TRAIN: The truck is equipped with the optional 390 cubic inch engine and Automatic Transmission. The truck never fails to start and idles smooth. The paint is newer basecoat/ clearcoat and is smooth with an excellent shine. The chrome and trim are in excellent condition and the Firestone tires only have a few thousand miles on them. There is no sign of rust in the floors or cab supports, something these trucks were plagued with when driven in a northern climate. This is an excellent opportunity to get into a future collectible vehicle. The price on the early 70's trucks continues to increase each year. NADA value on this truck puts it at $ 14,595 but I am offering this at a much lower reserve. One has to consider the overall condition of a vehicle when looking at price guides and I can tell you that this truck sets a higher bar because of the condition of the sheet metal, the paint, and pristine interior. Don't miss out on an excellent opportunity. I encourage you to inspect the vehicle personally or have someone do it for you. I will send specific pictures upon request and will answer all questions to the best of my knowledge. I reserve the right to end the auction early. Do not bid unless you have at least 5 positive feedbacks in the last two years unless you contact me to discuss. Do not bid if you do not have the funds to finalize the transaction. |

Detroit 3 and UAW could create healthcare pool
Thu, Sep 3 2015Healthcare costs continue to multiply in the US with no clear end in sight, but the United Auto Workers and the Big Three are negotiating a way to rapid growth under control. As part of the latest contract talks, the union has an idea to create a healthcare pool across all of its members at Ford, General Motors, and FCA US. If accepted, the company-wide integration would spread out the expenses and create a massive member base for bargaining with insurance companies. Both Ford and GM are at least considering the proposal, according to The Detroit News, and FCA US might be on board, as well. The idea is the work of current UAW president Dennis Williams and is based on the similar pool for the Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association for retirees. "I've walked through this several ways; I just don't have any other answer," Williams said to The Detroit News. "I do believe this will work. It's worked with the VEBA." Williams was elected UAW president last year and won by an overwhelming margin. He vowed no more concessions to automakers. In addition to healthcare, the two-tier wage system is another major talking point in the contract negotiation because it gives fewer benefits to entry-level workers. Higher wages are also a request. Healthcare costs are a massive expense for automakers and are expected to reach over $2 billion this year, according to The Detroit News. The payments are up nearly 50 percent or more in just the last four years.
EPA says fuel economy test for hybrids is accurate
Mon, 26 Aug 2013
The EPA says it stands behind its fuel economy test for hybrid vehicles following controversy about the testing process after Ford C-Max Hybrid customers and automotive journalists alike struggled to achieve 47 miles per gallon, the advertised mpg number, Automotive News reports. Ford responded to the issue almost two weeks ago by claiming that a 1970s-era EPA general label rule was responsible for the inaccurate mileage numbers, rerating the C-Max Hybrid's mpg numbers and offering customers rebates. Ford later said it didn't overstate the C-Max Hybrid's fuel economy and that it was surprised by the low numbers.
Ford technically didn't do anything wrong because it was following the general label rule, but agency regulator Christopher Grundler says the automaker was exploiting a loophole when it came up with the hybrid C-Max numbers, and that the testing process remains accurate. The general label rule allows vehicles that use the same engine and transmission and are in the same weight class to share fuel economy numbers, but it doesn't take into account other factors such as aerodynamic efficiency, which affects hybrids more drastically than non-hybrid vehicles. Ford originally used the Fusion Hybrid economy figures for the C-Max Hybrid and claimed the engineers didn't realize that its aerodynamic efficiency would affect fuel economy as much as it did.
Ford dissects the heart of the 2015 Mustang, its engine range
Thu, 05 Dec 2013Happy Mustang Day. Are you tired of hearing about the 2015 Ford Mustang yet? No? Good, here's a bunch of mechanical data on Ford's sixth-gen muscle car, along with cutaways of the GT's 5.0-liter V8 and the new 2.3-liter, EcoBoost four-cylinder shown above. We also have a smattering of info on the Stang's updated transmissions and an exploded-parts-diagram view of its all-new independent rear suspension.
Ford is set to make waves offering the Mustang with a turbo for the firs time since the small-volume SVO of the 1980s. Displacing 2.3 liters, the engine's twin-scroll turbo should help the four-cylinder turn out a projected 305 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, while also returning the best fuel economy in the Mustang's engine lineup. As we said in our Deep Dive, the EcoBoost will be slotted in as a premium engine, above the 3.7-liter V6 but below the 5.0-liter V8.
Speaking of that high-revving eight-cylinder, it's receiving a new cylinder head with high-flow ports. The intake and exhaust valves are larger and the cams have been replaced, among other tweaks. It should rev even higher thanks to a rebalanced crankshaft and forged connecting rods. Ford is still claiming a projected 420 hp and 390 lb-ft, although as many of the changes for the 2015's V8 come from the 2013 Boss 302, we're going to assume there's some sandbagging at work.
