1973 Ford F-100 Pickup 2wd 2-tone 360 Motor & C6 Transmission Matching Numbers on 2040-cars
Lewis Center, Ohio, United States
For sale here we have a fine example of what Detroit was once capable of... This 1973 F-100 is good looking, very useful, fun to drive, and gets a conversation started everywhere it goes. I have driven this truck from Columbus, OH to El Paso, TX and back hauling two motorcycles in the back and it never missed a beat. The engine and transmission have been professionally rebuilt; I can provide receipts for the work that was done on it. Also installed at that time were stainless headers, high-performance starter, HVHP oil pump, new power steering pump, and a Holley 2-barrel carburetor. The interior was redone as well and is in very nice condition. In addition, this truck has a "Hidden Hitch" brand frame-mounted Reese hitch, variable-rate adjustable electric trailer brake system, and 7-pin trailer connection. With this setup and the automatic transmission it makes an excellent, comfortable tow vehicle. To be fair and honest, this is not a show truck. There is some rust on the bed sides, and a little on the door frames. It is mostly surface rust, not vast expanses of cancerous rot. This truck spent most of its life in North Dakota, not on Ohio's salty roads. It will be a good truck for many years just the way it is, or it would make a good candidate for restoration if you wanted to make the body perfect. The drive train needs nothing. The radio stopped working, so I took it out. The aluminum trim needs to be glued back on to the sliding rear window, but nothing is missing. Also the vinyl armrest/door handle needs to be screwed on to the driver's door; I just haven't taken the inner door skin off to do so. Again, all the necessary parts are present. I even have the original owner's manual and warranty ID card. I can deliver this truck anywhere in Ohio for $0.50 per mile. I may be able to deliver elsewhere, but please ask before assuming I will do so. I would prefer for the buyer to pick it up in Columbus, OH, or make arrangements to have it picked up. I can store the truck for up to 2 weeks after the auction provided that payment is made. A $200 deposit is required via PayPal within 24 hours of the auction ending. The balance is to be paid in cash or check prior to taking possession of the truck. Any check must clear my bank before it goes; that is why cash is the most desirable way to complete the transaction. I would be willing to discuss trades if you have a pre-1970 Harley-Davidson (not a Sportster.) Otherwise, cash is king. Bid like you mean it; only the last one counts! Please ask any questions prior to bidding and I will do my best to answer them in a timely manner. Good luck and Happy Bidding! On Aug-25-14 at 14:44:02 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention... the truck has brand new full dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. Sounds good, runs even better! |

Tanner Foust gets eponymous hotted-up Ford Focus ST from Cobb Tuning
Thu, 14 Mar 2013Racer and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust has partnered up with Cobb Tuning to create a special-edition Ford Focus ST. The limited-edition hatches will come packing a reflashed ECU, special intercooler, tweaked intake and freer-flowing exhaust for up to 20 percent more power than the stock creation. Cobb says that the changes should push the final dyno figure to above 300 horsepower. Buyers can also expect to find special carbon fiber aerodynamic bits on board along with a new grille, graphics and wheels. Cobb hasn't released pricing on this Tanner Foust Edition Ford Focus ST as of yet, but you can bet the whole kit won't be cheap.
Fortunately, the company will sell you bits and pieces from the overall package for your Ford, and word has it engineers are also whipping up a Foust Fiesta ST. Look for Cobb's Focus ST website to go live next month, complete with accurate specs and pricing. Until then, enjoy clicking through the gallery here. Ford GT successor to debut in Detroit and go racing
Thu, Dec 18 2014Anticipation for all of the exciting reveals at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show just a few weeks away is building to a fever pitch, and rumors are mounting that Ford has a big surprise in store in the shape of a future performance halo model. Insider sources speaking to Autoweek claim the next Ford supercar is definitely going to be revealed at the Detroit show in early January. However, the model is not necessarily the next-generation Ford GT in terms of its name or design aesthetic. Instead, one of these people indicates that the new halo model might drop retro styling altogether. If the latest reports are to be believed, Ford's high-performance project goes beyond something to just grab headlines and rocket down the street. According to Autoweek, the automaker is also reportedly employing Chip Ganassi Racing to run a two-car racing effort in the Tudor United SportsCar Championship in 2016. That would allegedly include a trip to the 24 Hours of Le Mans to race on the 50th anniversary of the Ford GT40's win in 1966. The speculation goes that at least the racing version might use a twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 for power. However, the motorsports part of the program may not be announced during the auto show reveal. Rumors about the new halo car from the Blue Oval and its racing intentions have been percolating for months. The company might have considered an LMP2 entry, but speculation popped up later about the production supercar. A more recent report suggested that Ford might show a new Shelby GT350R Mustang, a successor to the F-150 Raptor and next Ford GT in Detroit.
Ford says utility vehicles are key to global growth
Tue, 26 Nov 2013While most of us believe that small, fuel efficient cars are the key to global expansion for US automakers, Jim Farley, Ford's vice president of Global Marketing, thinks otherwise. Last week, we attended an exclusive sneak preview of the Ford Edge Concept in advance of the Los Angeles Auto Show, and Farley told us that it's actually utility vehicles that will help the Blue Oval gain market share overseas. "There is no other segment in our industry that is growing like utilities," he said. "We expect over the next five years this full family of [utility] vehicles to really drive our growth as a company."
And Farley has the numbers to back it up, too. Ford projects overall automotive sales to grow 23 percent from 2012 to 2017, but the company's utility vehicles are expected to boom by an impressive 41 percent during that same period. Much of that growth will be in China, where Ford estimates its utility sales will explode. "The biggest opportunity for us globally for utilities is in China," Farley said. "China utility growth is expected to more than double from where it is today to 2017, which isn't that far away." Most astounding is that Ford projects its own utility sales in China will eventually increase by more than 2,000 percent when smaller crossovers, such as the EcoSport and Kuga (sold as the Escape in North America), and the Edge and Explorer, are factored in.
Ford's VP also expects utilities to lead the way in the struggling European market. "With all the difficulties of the European market, there is one segment that has actually expanded in volume over the last several years even though the market is way down, and that's utilities," Farley told us. Ford estimates that their utility sales will grow 65 percent in Europe from 2012-2017. "The utility segment is projected to grow we think about thirty percent between now and 2017 in Europe, and we think we are going to grow twice that rate as a brand," Farley continued.
