I purchase many pickups for my personal use and restoration that I connect with from my past. In searching for pickups I find many that are not what I'm looking for but may be for someone else and I will rescue it. I like to provide pickups that you may have a special connection to and are good candidates for restoration or turn into a driver as is. You always her about the special addition muscle car that has been in the family for life or was rediscovered. I realize that is not the case for most of us. I like pickups and many of us have a connection to all kinds of models and types.  I do not paint up, cover up or try to hide any defects. My intention is to disclose condition and provide you with a good southwest pickup.

This specific truck:

General: V8 360, Automatic, long bed, Power steering, very original, good tires and wheels but not OEM, runs and drives, idles smooth but rough above idle spits and runs rough, a layer of oil on engine and undercarriage left in place, right door latches good, drivers lath needs work, clear and current registration/title, Mileage showing is 92,065 but total actual mileage is not known, by condition it looks to be origional mileage or been around once but this is just a guess,  this is not a drive to work tomorrow truck it’s a restoration starter or a needs TLC project and make into a driver.

Body: Mostly all original paint as can be seen from the patina, looks like some minor body work to the right front many years back, Minor rust- see photo on one location under passenger door back of cab area, bed is extremely non-beat up, one dimple at top of tailgate, minor damage around the truck right rear bed, front left fender, hood and other small areas, lower trims in good shape upper trims rough, glass looks good.

I work with shipping companies often and can provide good clear communication. I do not advise on whom to use but work with them after you make arrangements if the truck is being shipped.

I can trailer the truck within 200 miles of area code 85367 for an additional fee depending on distance.

Please do not submit questions asking for the reserve price they will not be responded to. I try to buy and sell trucks at a fair price.

Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.

Ford's Galhotra succeeds Farley as head of Lincoln

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

Ford Motor Company is announcing a major personnel shakeup that could have a dramatic effect on the future of the Lincoln division. Kumar Galhotra (pictured above), currently vice president of engineering at Ford for all of its vehicles worldwide, is taking over as the president of the luxury brand on September 1, replacing Jim Farley. The automaker is also hiring a new head of advanced engineering.
Galhotra has a huge job ahead of him as the new boss of Lincoln worldwide, overseeing product development, marketing, sales and service. His task is to turn the luxury division into a world-class brand as quickly as possible, and he reports directly to Ford President and CEO Mark Fields.
"These changes underscore our commitment to build on the success of our One Ford plan by accelerating our pace of progress. They also make clear we are serious about Lincoln as a world-class luxury brand and that product excellence and innovation are what will deliver growth and define our entire company going forward," said Fields in the company's announcement.

More than 800,000 Fords recalled for faulty Takata airbags

Thu, Jan 12 2017

The Basics: Ford is recalling about 816,000 Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles built in the US for faulty passenger-side Takata airbags. The affected vehicles were all built in North America, with 654,695 recalled vehicles in the US and 161,174 vehicles in Canada. A wide variety of cars, trucks, and SUVs are affected. This is a planned expansion of an earlier recall. 2005-09 and 2012 Ford Mustang 2005-06 Ford GT 2006-09 and 2012 Ford Fusion 2007-09 Ford Ranger 2007-09 Ford Edge 2006-09 and 2012 Lincoln Zephyr and Lincoln MKZ 2007-09 Lincoln MKX 2006-09 Mercury Milan The Problem: Like every other Takata recall, the problem rests with faulty airbags that can potentially expel shrapnel, injuring or killing vehicle occupants. Millions of vehicles from dozens of automakers are affected, so don't think that Ford is alone on this one. Injuries/Deaths: Ford stated in a press release that there have been no injuries or death linked to the vehicles in this recall. All in all, 11 deaths and 180 injuries across a variety of automakers have been linked to these Takata airbags. The fix: Ford will contact owners soon, and the affected vehicles will have their airbags replaced by a dealer at no additional charge. If you own one: Wait for contact from Ford, then head to the dealer to get a replacement. If you're wondering if your vehicle is affected, go to this Ford website and enter their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The recall reference number is 17S01.
