1969 Ford F-100 Orig. Ca Truck, Orig. Paint, Patina, Survivor One Owner V-8 Auto on 2040-cars
Mountain View, California, United States
Hi, up for auction is my 1969 Ford F-100 pick up truck. I purchased this truck form the original owner who, as you can see from the pics, babied this 'ol Ford truck its entire life. The truck has seen very light duty as the bed if the truck show very little wear. This F-100 spent it's life as a fishing and camping rig, and had a aluminum camper shell on it until I purchased it. The truck is in amazing condition, as runs as good as it looks!! I have been driving this truck daily! The truck has very low (undocumented miles) under 22,000 miles on the clock. Given the condition and history of the truck, I don't doubt these are true original miles. (The foot brake pedal pad has very little wear)360 cubic inch V-8 with factory automatic transmission, fresh complete brake job, the ol Ford stops on a dime! Original keys, everything works, with the exception of the horn, doors open and close like new, windows roll up and down with ease as well. Power steering and power brakes. This truck is a true California survivor in the literal sense. Interior is clean, original and sound, nothing cut or hacked, AM radio works well, and all dash lights and gauges work perfect.
Please ask any and all questions you may have and I will be happy to answer them. The Ford F-100 is located here in the San Francisco Bay Area and is available to be seen and driven in person. This is a driver!! Please feel free to email me with any questions or you can call me direct at (650) 400-8836 Thanks for looking, good luck on the auction and, as always...... HAPPY BIDDING!! On May-26-14 at 20:18:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks for all the interest, and great comments about my truck. Yes, it is indeed a original FREMONT, CALIFORNIA built truck!! The vin number is F10GRF38330, 5th digit "R" = Fremont California, and......the truck NEVER left the bay area!! Too cool!! Enjoy the auction and bid to win.... |

Ford C-Max sales hold steady despite fuel economy fracas
Mon, 09 Sep 2013Despite the ballyhoo that accompanied Ford's lowering of the C-Max fuel economy figures, the Blue Oval is still seeing strong demand for the five-seat MPV, as Automotive News reports. Speaking to marketing boss Jim Farley, AN says that the controversy surrounding the C-Max's fuel economy figures won't force Ford to change its marketing strategy.
Ford lowered the fuel economy rating of the C-Max after public outcry and legal action by customers that were unable to reach the 47 miles per gallon promised by the window sticker. The new ratings were dropped about a month ago to 45 mpg on the freeway and 40 mpg in the city. Ford offered rebates for current C-Max owners, with $550 going to those that bought their car and $325 to lessees. The issue, says Ford, stemmed from testing standards that allowed the automaker to base the C-Max's fuel economy on the Fusion Hybrid, because they use identical powertrains. The C-Max's less aerodynamic shape wasn't taken into account, though.
Whether Ford's PR team handled the crises perfectly or people just aren't that bothered by a four-mpg drop in combined ratings, demand remains strong for the C-Max among consumers. Ford moved 3,000 units in August, which was a 12-percent jump over July sales. Meanwhile, consumer demand through third-party shopping websites remains strong as well, according to Autometrics, a data analysis company that spoke with Automotive News. While the long-term effects of the adjustments remain unknown, the C-Max appears to have fared well in the near term.

We spy the Ford Mustang King Cobra early at SEMA
Tue, 04 Nov 2014As is the case with most auto shows, waiting for the reveal of hot new models is the worst part. So, while our own Drew Phillips has been wandering the halls here in Las Vegas since they unlocked the doors for SEMA 2014, we didn't expect him to come back with any big reveals until later in the day. Until this happened.
Meandering by the Ford stand, Phillips eagle-eyed a trunk lid that caught his attention. Popping out from an otherwise draped 2015 Mustang, the matte black lid clearly has the name King Cobra embossed on the rear.
That name is interesting for a few reasons: to start, Ford hasn't used the Cobra name (without "Jet" attached) since way back in 2004, so a new snake is certainly something to take note of. Second, the King Cobra name dates all the way back to the ill-remembered Mustang II, meaning there is a clear link to Blue Oval history here.
