Ok, so I am relisting my truck with a very low reserve. It needs to go to a good home and to someone who will drive it. I can give you a hint..reserve is between $3750 and $3850. The truck is worth much more in my eyes but I know what she can do and what I've done to her. But she needs to find a home. So here is what you are looking at =
This is a 1969 F100 long bed (8ft) "Custom Cab". The truck has a 360 engine but I was told that it was bored to the 390. I never went into her to find out if that was a fact or not but I can tell you she has more power than you will ever need. I bought this truck from a farmer in Georgia, which it still has the Decatur. Ga dealer metal plate on it, and made it my loving project for 5yrs. The engine runs super strong and has even compression. Living in Charleston parking can be a problem so I did convert her to power steering. I wanted to keep the "3 on the tree" configuration so I modified the steering shaft. The power steering box came out of a 1972. I left the breaks original but I did have my mechanic run all new lines and we dropped in a new master cylinder. We also wanted to put in a new edelbrock carb so we went ahead and did that. All the body work was done by me. I took the entire exterior body apart and sanded her down and primed and painted her. The bed was in such good shape, all I did was rolled on a bed liner. All the steel is good, the bed isn't even warped on bit. All the trim and the grill is original or bought through Denise Carpenter (the only company that carried certified Ford parts). The interior is super clean. The seat is original and I was planning on having it re-covered, but I never got to it (hence the saddle cover). The dash is new ( I replaced it). and the all gauges are in working order.
the cons on this truck:
1) the passenger window needs some love on the track. she sticks at times.
2) the key that starts the truck is the key that unlocks the passenger door only. I had to do work on the lock system and I had a lock from another truck so I used it. You can buy a new hole key set from Denise Carpenter or LMC for pretty cheap. But I never locked the doors so wasn't an issue to me.
3) on the driver side front panel (between the hood and the windshield) there is a good dent. It was if the hood flew up or something fell on it. I never bothered to deal with this due to the fact it just gave it character.
4) the exterior rear window seal is cracked and missing about 1/2" but can be easily replaced....I just never got to it.
5) I threw a hub cap about a month ago and never new it so it's missing one :-(
This truck is super clean and ready to dive on a daily basis or as a weekend enjoyment.
Happy bidding!

Audi plans to give its electric vehicles looks that differentiate them from the rest of the lineup. "In early 2018, we will launch a battery-powered sports activity vehicle in the large premium segment with a range of more than 500 kilometers," says Audi's head of development, Ulrich Hackenberg. "It will have a new, very attractive design, which we are developing especially for the E-Tron range and for battery-electric vehicles." According to analysts, part of the reason the Toyota Prius was so successful was because it was easy to distinguish from other Toyota models with conventional powertrains. James Lawler used mostly scraps to build the tiny house – complete with tin roof, chimney, and stained glass window – for just $150 Australian. It took him about a week to finish. Lawler made use of his creation at the Meredith Music Festival so he didn't have to sleep in a tent. He was, however, fined by police for driving the makeshift motorhome. Ford taken to task by gov't for Chicken Tax end-around
Mon, 23 Sep 2013Ford is in a bit of a pickle for importing and selling Turkey-built Transit Connect cargo vans as passenger vehicles in the US, then converting them to commercial-vehicle specification stateside in an effort to bypass a 25-percent tax imposed on vehicles imported for commercial use. Automakers are required to pay a 2.5-percent tax on imported passenger vehicles.
The Blue Oval got into trouble for this in a January ruling in which U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials asked Ford to stop the practice of importing the Transit Connect vehicles with passenger seats, then removing and shredding them. Now Automotive News reports that Ford is appealing the ruling. The 25-percent "Chicken Tax," as the tariff is often called, is 50 years old and was enacted as a response to a German tariff on chickens. Like Ford, Chrysler bypasses the higher tariff, but it does so in a different manner. It partially disassembles Sprinter cargo vans before shipping them to the US, then rebuilds them at a plant in South Carolina.
But the ruling against Ford's strategy states that it "serves no manufacturing or commercial purpose" and is there to "manipulate the tariff schedule," Automotive News reports. As Ford's appeal goes through, it is importing the Transit Connect and paying the higher tax, hoping for a favorable outcome and planning to build the next-generation Transit Connect, which it plans to launch before the end of the year, in Spain.
NHTSA investigating 725k Ford, Mercury vehicles for stalling issue
Mon, 25 Feb 2013Owners of Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner, Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan models, listen up. According to a report on Automotive News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into these four vehicles totaling an estimated 725,000 units. The investigation appears to center around a malfunctioning throttle body on non-hybrid models of the 2005-2012 Escape and 2011-2012 Fusion. With Mercury dying off after the 2011 model year, this probe will also apply to the 2005 through 2011 Mariner and the 2011 Milan. There has been some discussion around the Escape stalling issue for some time now, but this investigation appears to be larger in scope than before.
Though not a recall yet, NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 123 complaints of stalling or surging vehicles, while Ford itself has logged 1,472 complaints. The investigation report, which is posted below, seems to indicate that a faulty circuit board for the throttle body could cause the vehicle to go into limp mode, which, according to NHTSA, could cause complaints of both stalling and surging.
