                                             1968 FORD F100 STEPSIDE

HERE WE HAVE A 1968 FORD F100 UP FOR AUCTION. THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN IN MY FAMILY SINCE NEW. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL TEXAS TITLE  (SEE PICS) AND PRIOR REGISTRATIONS. THIS TRUCK HAS 53K ORIGINAL DOCUMENTED MILES. I BROUGHT THIS TRUCK BACK FROM TEXAS IN 2011 WHEN MY GRAND PARENTS RANCH WAS BEING SOLD. IT WAS IN A LARGE BARN FOR QUITE A FEW YEARS. IT IS ABSOLUTELY 100% RUST/ROT FREE. ALL ORIGINAL METAL,BRAKE LINES, ETC....

I HAD IT REFINISHED (ORIGINAL COLOR OF COURSE) WITH A VERY NICE PAINT JOB. THE BED WAS REMOVED, SANDBLASTED, AND ANY MINOR DINGS REMOVED. A NEW WOOD BED WITH STAINLESS STRIPS WAS INSTALLED AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICS. I ALSO HAD THE RIMS SANDBLASTED AND PAINTED THE COLOR OF THE TRUCK AND 5 BRAND NEW TIRES INSTALLED.

THE INTERIOR IS VERY ORIGINAL. ORIGINAL SEAT AND UPHOLSTERY. I HAD 1 SEAM REPAIRED ON THE SEAT. ORIGINAL FLOOR MAT TOO! I ALSO INSTALLED A NEW DASH PAD. IT COULD USE 2 NEW ARM RESTS.

THE TRUCK HAS A 360 V/8 MOTOR AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. IT ALSO HAS AFTERMARKET A/C (INSTALLED WHEN NEW).I BELIEVE THEY CALL IT "HANG ON AIR" IT DOES NOT BLOW COLD BUT ALL THE FANS ETC.. WORK FINE. COULD JUST NEED A RECHARGE?

THIS IS A VERY NICE TRUCK. HARD TO FIND WITH AN 8FT STEPSIDE/FLARESIDE. I HAVE PUT A LOT OF TIME AND MONEY INTO IT. IT PAINS ME TO SELL IT....BUT I JUST DONT USE IT AND I THINK ITS RIDICULOUS TO JUST LET IT SIT. IT IS AN EXCELLENT RUNNING AND DRIVING TRUCK. THE PICTURES DO IT NO JUSTICE.......IT IS NICE

Ford wins second consecutive International Van of the Year award with Transit Connect

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

The redesigned 2014 Ford Transit Connect isn't even on sale yet, but it's already making its presence felt around the world. At a commercial vehicle expo in Russia, the Transit Connect was named the International Van of the Year.
Ford's small work van edged out the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter by just seven points to allow Ford to grab this honor for the second consecutive year, which it won last year with the Transit Custom. Not only does this make Ford the first to ever win the award in back-to-back years, but it's also the fifth time the automaker has won this award since 2003 (two with the Transit Connect, two with the fullsize Transit and once with the Transit Custom). Ford congratulates itself for the accomplishment in a press release posted below.

Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.

Car companies used to cook up sales with recipe books

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

The evolution of automotive marketing has undergone a number of strange phases. Few, though, match the strangeness of the 1930s to 1950s, when automotive marketers turned to cookbooks as a means of promoting their vehicles. Yes, cookbooks. We can't make this stuff up, folks.
This bizarre trend led to General Motors distributing cookbooks under the guise of its then-subsidiary Frigidaire. Ford, meanwhile, offered a compilation of recipes from Ford Credit Employees (shown above). The cookbook-craze wasn't limited to domestic manufacturers, though. As The Detroit News discovered, both Rolls-Royce and Volkswagen got in on the trend, although not until the 1970s.
The News has the full story on this strange bit of marketing. Head over and take a look.
