1968 Ford F100 Ranger 1 Owner Survivor on 2040-cars

Year:1968 Mileage:113000
Location:

Fayetteville, Georgia, United States

Original unrestored 1968 Ford F100 Ranger in great condition. Truck has 113,000 miles on original 360 2bbl v-8 and automatic transmission. Engine runs great, and transmission shifts well. Truck has recent tune up including rebuilt carb, points and condenser, plugs and wires. Truck also has new battery and 4 new tires. I recently drove this truck on a 120 mile trip with no problems. Body is in great shape - body panels are straight and fit well. Doors function wonderfully and shut with a solid 'click'. Bed is solid with some light surface rust. I have owned several of these trucks, and I have never had a bed in such good condition - fender wells are dent free, bed floor is straight with no holes, paint on inside of tailgate isn't even scratched. There is some damage to driver front hood/headlight bezel/fender where owner ran into a column while parking in their garage...what a shame because the rest of the truck is amazingly straight. Replacement parts can easily be found. Rust: the cab support at the rear of the cab has some rust, as does the driver cab corner behind the body trim. Truck has manual steering and brakes. Steering is tight, and truck cruises straight down the road, even when you take your hand off the wheel. Interior is complete and in good shape for its age. Seat cover is torn on drivers side, carpet is 45 years old. Visors and Headliner are in good shape. Original Radio still in place. Dash pad has crack in middle. Steering wheel is almost perfect - has 1 small crack at base of the horn ring. Dome light still works when you open the door! Gas gauge not currently working. Has exhaust leak on passenger side. I purchased this truck from the widow and son of the original owner with plans to turn it into a resto-mod driver. After getting it home and seeing the condition its in, I just could not bring myself to tear it apart... Payment: $500.00 deposit via paypal due at end of auction. Balance to be paid with cash in hand at time of pick up. Truck will not be yours until you pay in full. Truck is sold with a title from the State of Georgia. Reserve is set low, to cover my investment in the truck. Delivery: Seller will not deliver. Buyer must arrange pick up. Warranty: Truck is 45 years old, no warranty Truck is for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.

Ford to build Explorer in Russia to meet demand [w/video]

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

The current Ford Explorer is sold in more than 64 countries, and this three-row vehicle continues to grow in popularity worldwide. To keep up with demand, Ford began producing the Explorer at Ford Sollers Elabuga Assembly Plant in Tatarstan, Russia, a joint venture facility. This partnership will build Russian-market Explorers only, and production of export vehicles not destined for Russian buyers will continue to be built at Ford's assembly plant in Chicago.
Before this plant went online, Ford would ship Explorers to Russia (and other regions around the world) as partially assembled knock-down units where final assembly would eventually take place. While there is no indication as to how many Explorers Ford Sollers will build for Russia, Ford did add that exports of the SUV were up 65 percent last year (from 2011) accounting for more than 24,000 units.
Scroll down for a press release about the Russian Explorer as well as a video (bad music and all) showing the SUV being produced in Tatarstan.

2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid

No Prius Killer
As much as we enthusiasts like to rail on the lowly Toyota Prius as the harbinger of death for all we hold dear, there's no denying the machine's absolute and interminable grip on the hybrid hatchback market in the United States. Toyota has so thoroughly sunk its teeth into the segment that you can clearly hear the automaker's incisors clacking against one another with the conclusion of each financial quarter. And there's little wonder why. Buyers can plop down less than $25,000 and have a runabout that can return up to an estimated 51 miles per gallon in the city, leaving every other entry on the market with precious little gristle to gnaw on.
Enter the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid. With its claimed 47 mpg combined, the funky little hatch from Europe already falls behind the 48 mpg city offered by the Prius, but that marginal sacrifice in fuel economy could be a small price to pay for buyers who want a credible alternative to the stalwart Toyota. Unfortunately, like the Fusion Hybrid, the C-Max Hybrid had trouble even approaching its Environmental Protection Agency estimates during our time with the car.
