I bought two trucks as a package deal and cant keep both. So if your looking for a 68 ranger short bed look no further. Up for your consideration is a extremely nice well kept daily driven 1968 f-100. This truck has been in Georgia for years, from what I was told by the previous owner. It runs and drives great with a recent completely rebuilt stout 390, and manual 3 speed transmission. The truck still retains the factory column shift. The transmission shifts out great with a recent new clutch that has just been installed. Truck starts every time with the added electronic ignition. Engine and transmission runs/shift out great with no problems at all. No major leaks!! The brakes are all in working order as they should be. Truck also rides on a set of late model 15" ford wheels that are in great shape. Dual exhaust with factory exhaust manifolds. The interior is really nice considering the age of the truck. The dash pad has one crack in the middle only. Seat and carpet are all in really nice shape. The carpet is aftermarket and is in good shape but could use some trimming to fit better. Added seat belts along with the new AM/FM/CD player with ipod/aux connect port. All the glass is perfect except for one minor crack on passenger side front windshield. The crack is not bad and is definitely NOT in your line of site while driving. It may be repairable? All the rest of the glass is great with no fogging. Truck has a sliding back glass.  All the gauges work perfectly.  All the lights, tail lights, turn signals, emergency flashers, wipers, etc.. work perfectly. As far as the body I guarantee you wont be disappointed! All the chrome seems to be present except for the small marker lens on passenger side bed side ( cheap part). And there are only 2 small rust holes on the outside body that I could find to speak of. One small hole on lower driver door. And a very small pin hole on passenger side front fender.  The inside of the bed is mint with no rust at all. The bed sides are perfect. Near Perfect floor pans, front body mounts, tailgate, hood, etc.. I have included some pictures down below of all these areas. I just drove this truck 80 miles with absolutely no problems. This truck is good to go mechanically only needing minor cosmetics, or just enjoy it and drive it as is. This is one of the nicest 67-72 ford truck unrestored body's that I have seen in years. So good luck and you don't want to miss this one! Low reserve

Truck may be for sale/trade locally so I have the rite to end auction early if sold. When reserve is met it will be sold here only.
I have described the truck to the best of my knowledge. But if you have questions please ask before you bid and only bid if you plan to pay!
500.00 deposit due rite after auction ends unless other arrangements discussed previously.

Georgia does not and will not issue titles for classics of this age. Truck will be sold with current open Georgia state bill of sale along with a Current signed tag recite. With these items you should be able to obtain a title in your state if needed.

Ford EcoBoost successful because of Soviet laser weapons system expert?

Sun, 28 Jul 2013

Mike Kluzner is a man of many talents. Not only is he the software engineer responsible for fuel system diagnostics for Ford globally, he "got his start designing laser weapon systems capable of disabling the navigation systems of enemy satellites" for the former Soviet Union. Quite a résumé, wouldn't you say?
You may be asking yourself the same question that popped into our minds upon reading about Mr. Kluzner: What do laser weapon systems have to do with Ford and its EcoBoost engines? We'll let the man answer himself. "The same process for analyzing key physical relationships works for what we do today in engine combustion, catalyst chemistry and mechanics," says Kluzner. "These are all part of Ford's software engineering expertise." Who are we to argue?
Ford also employs an engineer who previously designed software to detect damage to the heat tiles on the International Space Station, as well as one who's past work involved particle physics, says the automaker in the press release below. David Bell (pictured above right), global boost system controls engineer for Ford, describes the software running EcoBoost as "the secret sauce" that makes the technology work as the driver intends and demands.

Ford, Ram in heavy-duty towing spat

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

Every pickup truck commercial has the brand trying to convince us that its model is the biggest, brawniest vehicle on the block. But Ford and Ram appear ready to really throw down the gauntlet and scrap over the towing figures for their heavy-duty models, and it could potentially end up in court.
The issue revolves around what it means to be best in class. Ford claims that its 2015 F-450 (pictured above) has a max tow rating of 31,200 pounds, compared to 30,000 pounds for the Ram 3500 (right). However, both companies market these heavy haulers as having the top towing in their class. According to Automotive News, Ford is threatening legal action if Ram doesn't back down.
The situation isn't as simple as just comparing the numbers, though. First, the two companies calculate their towing capacities differently. Ram adheres to the SAE J2807 rating, while Ford uses its own internal system. Although, as the company introduces new models, they are certified using the SAE standard. "When an all-new F-Series Super Duty is introduced, it also will use SAE J2807," said Ford to Autoblog in an emailed statement.
