THIS IS A PROJECT TRUCK. It is mostly whole, and comes with a lot of the parts needed to restore the truck and make it complete. I know very little history on it, but someone before me started a total frame-off restoration of this truck and never finished it. The cab is not the original cab, and some of the parts that come with the truck are from the original cab (which was yellow). I think the current cab is a '71 or '72. In the pictures one corner is up on a jack stand, but it has 4 good tires and wheels.
PLEASE STUDY THE PICTURES CLOSELY AND READ THE DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY. I am trying to be as thorough as possible on the description so that you know what you are bidding on. I'm trying to highlight the good with the bad and be as honest as possible. Please use the information and pictures I'm providing to make an educated assessment, as opposed to nit-picking and sending me a message offering me some lowball offer on an outside of ebay transaction. Please don't waste your time.
CAB AND BODY:
It's been my experience that when someone is selling a "rust free" cab, it still has rust if you look closely. Aside from some spots on the passenger side floor (pictured), and very light surface rust on the underside of the floorboards (pictured), this cab is basically a rust free, original, Explorer package, factory A/C equipped cab. I peeled back all the flooring and found 1 TINY pin hole on the passenger side. Aside from that, the floor is sound. There is a little surface rust and some small paint bubbles and chipping, but it is pretty superficial. Other than neutralizing the rust, it shouldn't need any repairs. My guess is that the rust is from A/C condensation dripping on the floor. Check out the pictures, but otherwise the cab looks pretty awesome. The driver's side floor, all the cab mounts, cab corners, rocker panels, cowl, etc. are all incredibly clean and, as far as I can tell, have never been touched. It's in excellent shape.
The cab was originally an auto trans. cab, but the clutch pedal assembly and other associated brackets are included to convert it to be a manual transmission truck.
It appears that all of the cab A/C parts like ducting, condenser, controls, baffles, blower motor, and so on are present. Check the pictures.
Most of the bed is missing, but some of the braces and frame structure can be seen in pictures. Both front fenders and hood are missing. The grill has been sandblasted, but was never painted. The bare metal rusted slightly after sandblasting, but the grill is in excellent condition. It has no damage that I can find, and both headlight buckets and chrome mouldings are present.
The original cab driver's door is still on the truck because that's where the VIN tag is.
The mirrors pictured on the cab are NOT included.
CHASSIS AND DRIVETRAIN:
The frame has all been stripped, primed, and painted black (it has a few nicks and scratches). The axles have also received the same treatment. All of the brake lines, emergency brake cable assembly, brakes shoes and hardware, u-joints, drive shafts (rear is damaged, see picture), leaf spring bushings, body mounts (one is missing), radius arm bushings, as well as plenty more misc. parts ARE ALL BRAND NEW. It looks like pretty much every little spring, clip, piece of linkage, etc., was either replaced with a brand new unit or worked fine and was cleaned up and painted. The person who started the restoration looks like they tended to lean toward buying a brand new part instead of reconditioning an old one.
- front axle is Dana 44 with lockouts (matching gears for rear)
- rear axle is Ford 9" with 3.73 gears. NOTE: It appears to have some sort of traction device- either a locker or limited slip. When I turned a sharp corner while towing it on a dolly, one tire would hop or chirp a little. When you jack up the rear end and spin one tire, both turn the same way freely, which I believe means it's NOT an open diff.
- transfer case is a Dana 21
- transmission is a 4 speed manual New Process. I'm guessing a 435, but I don't know.
- the truck originally had a 300 straight six, but it is gone
- brakes are 4 wheel drums
THE INCIDENT:
The person I bought this truck from forgot to tighten all the lug nuts and, as I was towing the truck home on a dolly, the driver's side rear wheel parted ways with the truck. The wheel and brake drum flew off into the night never to be seen again. Consequently, the backing plate on the axle has some minor damage from dragging (pictured), which can easily be heated and bent back. As a result, that brake drum is missing and one wheel and tire is different than the other 3. The wheel studs are okay, and other than the edges of the brake shoes being a little rough, everything else appears to be fine and intact. I put a spare on and made the rest of the trip home with no problem.
PARTS:
Look at the pictures. If it was worth mentioning, I've addressed it or included it in the pictures. If it's not pictured, either it's too minor to mention or it's one of the parts that the truck is missing. That said, there are several boxes of little parts like knobs and latches and screws and clips and springs from the truck that go with it.
THIS IS A PROJECT TRUCK AND SOLD AS IS WITH NO WARRANTEE. I have described and pictured the truck and parts to the best of my abilities. If you have any questions, please ask. Since the truck does not run and drive, and I'm not able to test each part, I cannot guarantee that every single part on the truck is in working order. Based on the info I had when I purchased it, and by the amount of work and detail that the previous owner put into it when starting the restoration, I believe most, if not all parts on the truck and sold with the truck are functional. But, as I mentioned, I cannot and will not guarantee anything because I am unable to do so. Please bid accordingly.
PURCHASE, PICK-UP, AND PAYMENT:
LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY. I WILL NOT SHIP THIS TRUCK. If you want to have a carrier or other party pick up the truck, you may, but that is 100% your responsibility. THE TRUCK MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 7 CALENDAR DAYS OF THE SALE. It is located at a residence which is accessible with a tow truck, pickup and trailer, or flatbed tow truck. No semi access. The truck has 4 tires and wheels and rolls freely. Please plan your transport accordingly before purchasing.
A Paypal deposit of $500 dollars is due within 24 hours of purchase, and the remaining balance is due in full at or before time of pick-up in cash or cashiers check ONLY. I have a clean title, with no leins, in my name, in hand. After I have receive full payment, and at the time of pick-up, it's all yours.

$1.8 million is spent each year to maintain GM's fleet of 600 production and concept cars.
When at least two of the Detroit Three were on the verge of death a few years back, one of the tough questions that was asked of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler execs - outside of why execs were still taking private planes to meetings - was why each company maintained huge archives of old production and concept vehicles. GM, for example, had an 1,100-vehicle collection when talk of a federal bailout began.

Ford has gone all-in on its efforts to offer most of its new vehicles with a fuel-efficient EcoBoost engine, but the automaker is reportedly preparing to take another big step toward improving vehicle efficiency. Automotive News is reporting that Ford will soon expand the availability of start-stop technology, which was first offered - presumably the first non-hybrid vehicle, that is - on the 2013 Fusion (equipped with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine) as a $295 option.
The benefit of start-stop is reduced fuel consumption as it shuts the engine off at long stops, and AN quotes Ford as saying that drivers can save more than $1,000 on fuel costs over five years. Despite this, the option hasn't been popular on the Fusion thus far, but it could be more beneficial on bigger vehicles like the F-150. Ford also said that the next-gen Edge, which was previewed in concept form at the LA Auto Show, will be equipped with auto start-stop to help make the EcoBoost engines even more efficient.

Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) announced yesterday at Ford's SEMA press conference that it will field a Ford-Riley Daytona Prototype with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 in the 2014 United SportsCar Championship (USCC). CGRFS is the second team to commit to the new Ford-Riley car, behind Michael Shank Racing (which has already used the racecar to break a 26-year-old top-speed record at Daytona International Speedway).
"Over the last 10 seasons we have been able to experience a great deal of success in Grand-Am," Chip Ganassi says, "and now with the dawn of the new United SportsCar Championship we feel that Ford power will be a key ingredient to writing the next chapter of our sports car program."
In the last Grand-Am season, CGRFS raced a BMW-Riley Daytona Prototype. The team has won seven Daytona Prototype championships, all in the past ten years. Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas return as the team's prototype co-drivers, and will attend their maiden race in the Ford-Riley at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January.
