Up for your consideration is a really nice original one owner 1967 F-100 short bed ranger. I purchased this one directly from the original owner two months ago. The truck was purchased brand new on March 18 1967 for the amount of 2,437 dollars at Stovall Motor Company that was in Cornelia Georgia. The truck has never been outside the state of Georgia. The owner drove the truck short distances to and from work while working at Lockheed in Marietta Georgia. The truck has 87,xxx original documented miles. The owner bought the truck and never altered anything except for adding 67' galaxie wheel covers, and adding the hood lip molding that comes on the 70-72 f-100. Both items were purchased directly from ford. Under the hood is the original 352 big block mated with a smooth shifting manual  3 speed column shift transmission. Dual exhaust ran all the way to the back of the truck. The original windshield washer bag is still present. The brakes were completely gone through in late 2010 for the amount of 680.00. Truck had very little miles driven after so the brakes are still great.  I had a complete tune up done to the truck when I purchased it including new carburetor, coil, plugs, wires, cap, rotor button , oil change , filter, electronic distributor conversion, battery, etc.. The engine was mildly detailed at this time as well. Truck starts every time and runs out great with no major leaks. All the gauges are crystal clear and work as they should. Brake lights , headlights, backup lights, horn all work. The turn signals are currently not working. I was told all it needed is a flasher relay? Wipers are fully functional, as is the heater as well. The interior is in decent shape. The dash does have some cracking. The very top of the seat has some damage from the sun. The carpet and the rest of the seat looks really good considering the age of the truck. All the glass is fully functional with no cracks or defects except for some small amounts of fogging in the corners of the windshield. The body of the truck has to be one of the nicest unrestored well kept I have seen yet ! There are no rust holes on the outside body anywhere. No through rust in the bed floor itself. No rust in cab mounts , core support , not even the battery tray!  The ONLY noticeable rust I could find was is in the tailgate. All this can be seen in the pictures below. The original owner stated that as far as he could remember the paint was original. He always stored the truck in a garage or under a carport for protection against the elements. You can see from the pictures it shows well for a driver when kept clean. The only dent I found was in the middle of the hood. The grill is in really nice condition, as is all the chrome as well. Not seen in the pictures but will be sold with a good full size spare tire with the original spare frame hold down. Its ready for the next person to fine tune it to your liking and drive!!  Have Fun and Good luck.

I have tried to be as descriptive as possible on this truck .It is used and will be sold AS IS... please if you have questions ask before bidding and only bid if you plan to buy.

Truck will be sold with almost all the original tag receipts for most all years, original 1967 licence plate and registration, original owner card, maintenance report/records, 6,000 mile maintenance report, original ford operators manual /cover, original carburetor and engine tag.
And of course whatever else I have to go with it .

TRUCK WILL BE SOLD WITH A CURRENT GEORGIA STATE BILL OF SALE AND CURRENT SIGNED REGISTRATION. GEORGIA IS NOT A TITLE STATE FOR CLASSICS OF THIS AGE. WITH ALL THE DOCUMENTS ABOVE YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A TITLE IN YOUR STATE IF YOUR STATE REQUIRES A TITLE.

Whoever buys will be the 2nd registered owner of this truck. Bid to win !!

On Jan-05-14 at 19:56:30 PST, seller added the following information:

I have the truck for sale locally and have the rite to end auction early if sold locally. When the reserve is met it will be sold here only.

Ford settles class action suit over defective Navistar diesel engines

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

The 2003 Ford F-Series Super Duty (shown above) introduced the 6.0-liter Power Stroke diesel supplied by Navistar, and while that is an engine Ford would love to forget, it's now one step closer to putting that particular problem behind it. Automotive News is reporting that Ford has settled a class-action lawsuit brought on by problems with this engine that started right out of the gate and ultimately broke up the 30-year relationship between Ford and Navistar.
Owners and lessees of 2003-2007 Super Duty trucks and E-Series vans equipped with the 6.0-liter Power Stroke are eligible for deductible reimbursements of between $50 and $200 from the original five-year/100,000-mile engine warranty, while Ford is paying out as much as $825 for out-of-warranty engine repairs. These repairs may include the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler, EGR valve, oil cooler, fuel injectors and turbocharger, but are only covered if the components failed before six years or 135,000 miles.
In total, Ford has agreed to pay about 50 percent of the value of the repairs and deductibles paid by its customers who submit a claim before the end of this year, and $150,000 is going to the 16 named plaintiffs in the case; Navistar was not included in the lawsuit.

Ford Mustang challenges Lamborghini in amazing drift battle

Fri, Dec 18 2015

Engines scream and tires billow with smoke as Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Daigo Saito stage a drift battle through an abandoned Japanese resort that looks like a Russian village in this stunning clip. The high-performance ballet of these amazing machines sliding around makes this one of the best videos of the year. To fight this duel, Gittin straps into his 550-horsepower Ford Mustang, and Saito meets the pony car's challenge with a drift-prepped Lamborghini Murcielago. The drivers hit a curving road and show expert car control as the men slide these very different vehicles just inches from each other. Eventually, night descends, and they add some fire to the scene to give the stunts a more apocalyptic look. The production values for this short clip are phenomenal, and the editing makes the viewer feel right in the middle of the action. If you want to get behind the scenes of this impressive display of drifting, Speedhunters did a great job capturing the event in photos. Related Video:

Automotive Grade Linux will be the backbone of your connected car

Fri, Jan 6 2017

Creating a backend for a secure, reliable, and expandable infotainment system is costly and time consuming. The Linux Foundation, a non-profit organization, has set out to promote and advance the Linux operating system in commercial products. Automotive Grade Linux, or AGL, is a group within the Foundation that seeks to apply a Linux backend to a number of automotive applications in a variety of vehicles from various suppliers and manufacturers. AGL's goal is to create a common, unifying framework that allows developers and manufacturers to easily implement applications across platforms. Currently, the focus is on infotainment systems, but AGL has plans for instrument clusters, heads-up displays, and eventually active safety software. At CES, a display from Panasonic showed a completely digital and customizable dashboard that allows information and apps to be moved from the gauge cluster to the infotainment screen and back, all through the use of gesture and touch controls. Although the organization has been around for five years, it's really only been in the past three that the group has been working hand in hand with automakers and suppliers. The first two OEMs to participate, Toyota and Jaguar Land Rover, have since been joined by Mazda, Suzuki, Ford, and, as of this week, Daimler. The latter is important as until now most of AGL's partner's have been based in Japan or the US. Other partners include suppliers Denso, Renesas, Continental, Qualcomm, and Intel. AGL want's to supply roughly 80 percent of the backend, allowing partners to then finish and refine the Linux system for each individual application. Think of how the Android operating system is refined and customized for individual smartphones from Samsung, LG, and Motorola. While the final product looks different, developers can have an application that will work across all AGL systems. Because it is open source, anyone can use and develop for AGL. You can even go onto the group's website and download a copy right now. There is also a software development kit available that helps facilitate app creation on the platform. Vehicle development cycles take roughly five years, so there currently are no cars that run an AGL backbone available for consumers. AGL Executive Director Dan Cauchy says products should be hitting the market later this year, with even more coming in 2018. Right now, the industry is relatively fragmented when it comes to infotainment and related systems.
